Chapter 266: Chapter 266: Lions beastmans are very proud!!
The lioness looked at Lin Muyu and sighed, shaking her head.
“It is not that simple,” the lioness whispered, her voice tinged with a bit of sadness.
“Male lions are very proud. They are the kings of the plains. Most of them believe they should only mate within their own species to keep the bloodline strong. They usually look down on other races, thinking they are too weak or too small.”
Lin Muyu’s eyes widened, and then her face turned a bright shade of red from pure annoyance.
“What kind of shit logic is that?!” she rattled, her voice rising in frustration. “Everyone in this world mates to survive! What makes you lions so special? Are you made of gold?”
She huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. “Look at our Qinglan! She is a top-tier witch doctor. She has a tiger, a wolf, a fox, and a snake. Do you see her complaining about species? No! Because she knows that a good husband is a good husband, regardless of his tail!”
The lioness looked around to make sure no male lions were listening before nodding in agreement.
“To be honest,” the lioness admitted softly, “many of us females feel the same way. Being mated only to lions is… a lot of pressure. They are so big, so aggressive, and always fighting for dominance. Sometimes, we look at the smaller, furry beastmen and think they look so much gentler.”
Lin Muyu leaned in, her eyes twinkling. “Exactly! Imagine having a husband who doesn’t want to roar at the sun every morning. A husband who is soft and likes to cuddle without trying to prove he’s the strongest in the forest.”
The lioness giggled, the idea clearly appealing to her. “If the men of our tribe would just stop being so arrogant, we could all find balance. We are tired of only having scary lions around. I would love a mate who knows how to pamper me with his charm, not with his muscles.”
“Well,” Lin Muyu said, looking determined. “If your King Shi Feng sets an example by falling for our Qinglan, maybe the rest of your beastmen will follow suit. Once they see how happy a ‘mixed’ family can be, they might stop acting like such blockheads.”
The lioness smiled, looking at the glowing fire. “I hope you are right. It would be a dream to have a mate from a different race. We wouldn’t have to live under the constant shadow of lion pride anymore.”
Lin Muyu nodded firmly. In her mind, the plan was already set. She just had to make sure the Lion King realized that a Fox Tribe witch doctor was worth more than a thousand proud lionesses.
The lioness remembered the scene again and said gently, “He did seem very… focused on her. He usually doesn’t touch females at all, but he didn’t want to put her down.”
Lin Muyu smirked, feeling like a master matchmaker. “Exactly! I think he suits her. Our Qinglan is special. She deserves a King. I need to find a way to talk to her about this… once she stops being angry at her other husbands, of course.”
As the two females whispered and giggled about the potential new husband, they didn’t realize that a certain Lion King was standing not far away, his sensitive ears twitching as he caught fragments of their conversation.
Shi Kuang had finally finished his “transformation mission.” He had scrubbed every speck of mud from his skin, groomed his golden hair until it shone like the sun, and put on his finest, most heroic-looking beast hide.
He felt like a new man…powerful, handsome, and ready to make every female in the mountain swoon.
He walked back toward the female tree house with a confident stride, but as he got closer, he realized the area was eerily silent.
Then, his sensitive ears caught the voices of the females inside. He heard Lin Muyu and the lioness talking about his brother, Shi Feng, and the idea of “mixed species” mating.
He looked over at his brother, the King, who was sitting nearby quietly licking the wound on his paw. Shi Kuang shuddered.
His brother mating with a Fox female? He almost pitied that female. His brother was so cold and stern that the poor girl would probably be scared to tears every single day.
It seems these females’ dreams are too big, Shi Kuang thought with a smirk. But maybe I can help them out.
He didn’t use the door. Instead, he leaped up and leaned against the door frame where Lin Moa was peeking out.
He leaned down, his breath warm against her ear, and whispered in a deep, silky voice, “If you want to set an example for the other lions, why don’t I mate with a Fox Tribe female myself?”
He pulled back and flashed a brilliant, blindingly white smile at her, his golden eyes glowing with charm.
Lin Muyu was stunned. She looked at the handsome, bronzed man who had suddenly appeared in front of her. Her heart gave a little flutter.
Where did this gorgeous man come from? And what does he mean by ‘setting an example’? She narrowed her eyes, her face heating up. Is this beastman actually flirting with me?
Before she could say a word, the lioness beside her gasped. She frantically tugged on Lin Muyu’s sleeve, her eyes wide with panic.
“Don’t fall for it!” the lioness whispered in a tiny, terrified voice. “Don’t look at his face! That’s Shi Kuang. He is the most notorious, troublesome lion in our entire tribe. You can mate with a tree or a rock, but stay away from him!”
Shi Kuang’s handsome expression immediately fell. His ears practically drooped. Am I really that famous for the wrong reasons? he wondered sadly.
Lin Muyu’s eyes widened as the gears in her head finally turned. She looked at his golden hair, then at his smug smile, and then at his broad shoulders. The memory of being face-down in a brown mud puddle came rushing back.
“You!” she screamed, pointing a finger at his nose. “You’re that stupid lion who pushed me into the mud! You’re the ‘golden blockhead’!”
She had been so angry and he had been so disheveled before that she hadn’t immediately recognized him in his “glorified” form. But now she knew.
“I still haven’t settled my score with you!” Lin Muyu shouted.
Without even bothering to use the vine ladder, she jumped straight out of the tree house door landing lightly on the ground in front of him.
She didn’t care that he was a powerful warrior; she was a female with a grudge.
“You pushed me into the mud and then stood there looking like a fool!” she said, poking him hard in the chest. “You have to pay for that, you big cat! I’m going to make sure your face is as muddy as my clothes were!”
Shi Kuang took a step back, totally shocked. He had come here to be a “charming hero,” and now he was being scolded by a tiny, angry female who looked ready to pluck his fur out.
And where is his sunset goddess? Why is this angry female the only one he could see?
