Chapter 259: Chapter 259: Shi Kuang deserves more Slap!
Shi Kuang was in a desperate rush. He had bolted away from the treehouse where the “sunset-haired goddess” was staying, determined to find a secluded spot to fix his image.

His plan was simple: wash off the mud, ditch the beast form, and return in his full, glorified human form, the kind of look that usually made females in the high plains swoon.

He was so busy daydreaming about his “cool entrance” that he did not even look where he was going. He was running like a blind cub through the heavy rain.

BAM!

He collided with something solid. A sharp, high pitched female yell pierced through the sound of the rain, followed by a loud SPLASH.

Shi Kuang skidded to a stop, his lion ears twitching. He looked down, and his eyes nearly popped out of his head. “Another tree?” he blurted out, stunned. “Another walking bush?”

Lying in a particularly deep and brown mud puddle was another leafy green shape.

For a second, Shi Kuang actually wondered if this mountain was haunted by moving shrubbery.

But then, a muddy hand reached out of the muck. A face lifted up, glaring at him with enough fire to boil the rain.

This was Lin Muyu, who had also been wearing a leafy raincoat to stay dry.

“Are you blind?” Lin Muyu screamed, her voice trembling with pure rage.

“Are you a beastman or a runaway boulder? Have you got shit in your head instead of a brain?”

She was absolutely fuming. She had been minding her own business and was walking carefully, especially avoiding any dirt on her clothes, because she had just washed many of her clothes and did not want to dirty this remaining one, and in the rainy season they were taking forever to dry.

But now she was literally marinating in mud because this giant lion was running around like a headless chicken. She looked at his massive lion form and wanted to scratch his big, stupid face.

Shi Kuang, however, was still in a daze. He was so confused by the “second walking tree” that he just stood there, staring at her while she struggled in the mud. He did not even move to help her.

How can someone be this big and this stupid? Lin Muyu thought, her anger hitting a new level. She wanted to splash the mud right into his golden eyes.

Suddenly, another hand appeared in her vision. Shi San, one of the more sensible lions who had been watching from a distance, stepped forward and helped her up.

“Female, are you okay?” he asked kindly, glancing at his brother with a disappointed look.

“Brother, look what you have done. You pushed her so harshly. What if she is injured?”

Lin Muyu finally stood up, shaking the mud off her leaves. She looked at the giant lion, who she now knew was named Shi Kuang, and huffed. “You are just a blockhead. Do you not see where you are running?”

In a fit of temper, she used all her might to push against his chest, wanting him to fall into the mud and taste it too. But Shi Kuang was like a mountain. Her push did not even make him blink.

Realizing he was making a terrible impression again, Shi Kuang quickly shifted into his human form. He did not want this female to fall again while trying to move him.

Suddenly, a towering, bronzed man with golden hair and sun like eyes appeared where the lion had been. He reached out and grabbed Lin Muyu’s shoulders to steady her.

“Female, I am sorry. I did not see you. I honestly thought you were just another bush.”

Lin Muyu froze. She went from screaming at a silly lion to being face to face with a dangerously handsome man. His brown skin and golden hair were striking, and his concerned expression was actually quite charming.

But then, Shi Kuang’s stupidity returned. In his panic to see if she was hurt, he actually reached down and started lifting her leafy skirt to check for scratches on her legs.

SLAP!

Lin Muyu’s hand flew out, hitting his chest with a loud crack. “Hooligan. What are you doing? Who touches a female’s clothes like that?”

She was flustered, and her face was burning. As she looked at him more closely, she realized something else. Because he had just transformed in a hurry, he was, well, he was mostly naked.

“You… you really are a hooligan. Go cover yourself first!” she screamed, covering her eyes with her muddy hands.

She tried to turn and run away, but Shi Kuang held onto her arm, afraid she would slip in the mud again.

“I am just checking for injuries,” he argued, totally oblivious to the social disaster he was causing. “If you fall again, you will blame me more.”

Nearby, the other lion beastmen were watching with wide eyes and hidden snickers.

They had never seen the haughty Shi Kuang get beaten by a female before. Usually, he acted so mighty and arrogant because he was a six strip warrior and the King’s brother.

Seeing him get slapped and called a hooligan while standing naked in the rain was the highlight of their day.

“He deserves it,” one whispered. “He thinks he can just run over people. It is good that the female is not peeling his skin for him. He is doomed if the Tribe Leader hears about this.”

Lin Muyu finally managed to yank her arm away. “Stay away from me, you golden blockhead!” she yelled over her shoulder as she stomped away toward the treehouses.

Shi Kuang stood there, wet, muddy, and confused. Why are females in this tribe so aggressive? he wondered, scratching his head.

First the sunset goddess ignores me, and now the leafy one slaps me. Maybe I should have just stayed in the plains.

He looked at Shi San, who was just shaking his head. “Brother,” Shi San said, “I think you should go find a beast hide before you try to help anyone else.”

Shi Kuang followed his gaze, looked down, and instantly flushed red. Then he frowned. “What is the problem? Do you not have one too? Why are you staring at mine?”

He puffed out his chest proudly. “Are you jealous? Hmph.”

With that, he flexed for absolutely no reason, transformed back into a lion, and skidded away dramatically through the mud.

Shi San: “…”

It would have been better if the female had slapped him more. He deserved it.
