Chapter 242: Chapter 242: The Birth of the Fox Cubs
“Do not rush,” he said softly but firmly, pressing something warm into her hands. “You just woke up, your body is empty, and you cannot help anyone like this.”

Su Qinglan looked down and realized he had given her food, and before she could even think properly, he was already helping her sit and pushing the food closer to her lips.

“Eat,” he said, his voice gentle but unyielding, “Just a little; I will not let you go without strength.”

After all, how could he allow his female to be hungry for such a long time? She was already tired because of him and had not eaten anything since yesterday.

And even after waking up, before she could recover, she had to go there. He would never allow her to work on an empty stomach.

On the other hand, Su Qinglan’s mind was panicking, her thoughts filled only with Bai Ling’s pain and the image of her screaming, but she did not resist, trusting Han Jue completely as she took quick bites.

Only then did she realize it was a big dumpling, still warm, soft, and fragrant, and her chest tightened because she remembered how Han Jue always made these for her since she liked them so much.

She ate quickly, barely tasting anything, her ears ringing as she listened for sounds outside, and even as she swallowed, her mind was already running toward the treehouse.

Before she could even finish thinking, Han Jue lifted her gently into his arms, holding her carefully as if she were fragile glass, and carried her outside without causing any discomfort.

She did not even remember how she ended up back in the home, or when she had fallen asleep before, or why her head still felt slightly heavy, because everything was happening too fast.

They moved quickly through the paths, the tribe unusually quiet, and Su Qinglan did not even have time to wash her face or fix her hair, her entire focus fixed on one thing only.

Bai Ling.

When they reached the large treehouse where Bai Ling lived, Han Jue gently placed Su Qinglan down in front of the entrance, but he did not follow her inside.

Instead, he stood outside respectfully, his tall figure calm and steady, guarding the entrance while his female rushed inside without hesitation.

The moment Su Qinglan stepped through the door, a piercing scream filled the air, and her heart dropped so hard it felt like it had fallen into ice water.

Bai Ling’s cries echoed through the room, broken and desperate, each sound cutting deep into Su Qinglan’s chest as she rushed forward.

Inside, Bai Ling was lying on the bed, her face pale and drenched in sweat, her body writhing in pain as another contraction hit her, and her hands clawing helplessly at the cloth beneath her.

Grandma Lin was beside her, calm but serious, her experienced hands moving efficiently as she checked Bai Ling’s condition, while Bai Ling’s fox husband stood nearby, his face tense with worry.

Su Qinglan immediately moved closer, her heart aching as she took Bai Ling’s hand, feeling how cold and trembling it was.

“I am here,” Su Qinglan said firmly, leaning close so Bai Ling could hear her clearly. “I am here. You are not alone.”

Bai Ling turned her head weakly, tears streaming down her face, relief flashing through her eyes when she saw Su Qinglan, and she gripped her hand tightly.

“It hurts,” she cried, her voice breaking. “It hurts so much.”

“I know,” Su Qinglan said softly, her own eyes burning. “But you are strong, and your babies are coming. Just breathe with me.”

Using her plant-type healing ability, Su Qinglan gently released a soft, calming energy, not trying to heal or interfere, only easing Bai Ling’s pain slightly and giving her strength to endure.

The room was filled with a heavy, tense silence between Bai Ling’s screams, the kind that pressed down on everyone’s chest, broken only by the steady and calm voice of Grandma Lin guiding her patiently.

“Breathe… yes, like that,” she said firmly, her hands steady as she supported Bai Ling’s trembling body. “Do not fight the pain. Let it pass through you, and when I tell you to push, you push with all your strength.”

Bai Ling’s fox husband stayed close to her head, kneeling beside the bed, his hands shaking as he wiped the sweat from her face again and again, his eyes red and filled with fear and love.

“I am here, I am here,” he kept repeating softly, pressing his forehead against hers whenever he could. “You are doing well, my mate. You are so strong. Just a little more. Please hold on.”

On the other side of the room, Bai Ling’s bear husband moved constantly, heating water, changing cloths, bringing clean bowls and towels, his large body tense but careful, his deep breaths uneven as he tried to stay calm.

“Water,” he said urgently each time he returned, placing it beside Grandma Lin. “More cloths. I will get more.”

His hands trembled every time Bai Ling screamed, but he never stopped moving, never stopped helping, even when fear clawed hard at his chest.

Another sharp cry tore from Bai Ling’s throat as her body shook violently, and Su Qinglan tightened her grip on Bai Ling’s hand, leaning close so her voice could anchor her.

“Look at me,” Qinglan said gently, pouring her plant-type energy into her touch steadily. “You are not alone. Your babies are almost here. Breathe with me.”

Bai Ling sobbed, nodding weakly, her lips trembling as she tried to follow the rhythm Qinglan guided her into.

Then suddenly, Grandma Lin straightened slightly, her eyes sharpening.

“It’s coming,” she announced, a note of excitement breaking through her calm. “Push now, Bai Ling, with everything you have.”

Bai Ling screamed, her body arching as she pushed with all her remaining strength, her fox husband crying openly now, holding her shoulders, his tears falling onto her skin.

And then… a thin, sharp cry pierced the room.

“It’s out,” Lin Muyu’s mother said firmly, lifting a small, wet bundle into her hands.

A tiny fox cub appeared, trembling and slick, its fur barely formed, its small mouth opening and closing as it cried weakly.

The room exploded with sounds of relief…sobs and gasps.
