Chapter 233: Chapter 233: Su Qinglan’s Warning
After all, Su Qinglan wasn’t some fragile little girl. She had lived an entire lifetime in the apocalypse, where people only cared about themselves.

In that world, kindness was weakness, friendships were traps, and trusting anyone meant signing your own death warrant.

She had seen people smile one second and stab you the next. She had seen betrayal so often that she preferred loneliness over fake companionship.

Because in the apocalypse, the moment you were betrayed, you were gone, dead. So she had learned to live alone, to kill without hesitation, and to become the monster people feared before they could become the monster that killed her.

And even though she had restrained that dark, ruthless nature after coming to the beast world, choosing instead to try living a soft, peaceful life with her small family, that did not mean she had become harmless. If someone dared to bully her, she would never sit still and accept it.

So the moment she looked at this woman, she felt her patience shatter. This woman had to be confronted. Because she did not just want revenge, she also needed answers.

She wanted to know exactly what this old hag had done in the past. She wanted to confirm how this woman was not the original owner’s real mother.

And most importantly, she wanted to know who her real mother actually was and what happened to her.

There was no one else who could answer those questions. Only this old bitch. Only this woman still dared to stand in front of her as if she had the right to breathe.

Su Qinglan took a slow breath, her expression calm but her heart burning with rage. And she was not going to let this old hag walk out without paying at least some of the debt she owed.

She stared at the old woman, who was still refusing to say a single word, even after being beaten badly.

This stubbornness only made Su Qinglan more irritated. She knew this old hag was tough to crack, she knew this woman’s bones were as hard as her shameless face, so she did not bother wasting more time.

Instead, she dragged her deeper inside the treehouse and began tying her up completely, wrapping her with vine ropes so tightly that the woman ended up like a giant dumpling.

She could not move her arms or legs, could not twist her waist, and could not even lift her head properly. She could only roll if she tried to escape, like some helpless fat worm.

And to make it worse, Su Qinglan tied her mouth as well, stuffing cloth inside so she could not scream or call for anyone to save her.

Su Qinglan stood in front of her with a slow, evil smile that sent chills down the old woman’s spine.

She bent down, her voice calm but her eyes cold enough to freeze someone’s soul, and said, “Now you are going to stay exactly like this until I come back. If you do not open your mouth and answer me honestly, then remember this… I will make sure you die a horrible death. A death so ugly that even the vultures will not come to collect your body.”

The old woman trembled violently, her whole body shaking so much that she actually felt like she might pee herself.

The expression on Su Qinglan’s face was not a joke, not an act. She could feel the murderous aura so clearly that even breathing became difficult.

Su Qinglan watched the disbelief in her eyes, and she smirked, enjoying the fear spreading through the woman’s body.

“You do not believe me?” Su Qinglan asked with a mocking smile. “Then I will make this clearer for you.”

She leaned closer, almost whispering in her ear, “You only have two mates in this entire tribe. And I can easily send both of them out on hunts. Far away. So far they will not come back for days. They will not even know you disappeared.”

The old woman’s eyes widened in horror.

“And that daughter of yours,” Su Qinglan continued, her tone getting sharper, “that selfish daughter of yours will not come to see you at all. She will be too scared to set a foot out in the rain. So she is not going to save you at all. She will not know anything, and if you disappear for a few days, she will not care at all.”

The more she spoke, the paler the old woman’s face became. Her lips trembled under the gag, her eyes filled with panic as she realized this was not a joke. She was really right.

“And the remaining one… my father?” Su Qinglan snorted coldly. “I will definitely take care of him too. So forget the idea that anyone will come here to save you. No one will even know where you are.”

Her voice turned low and dangerous as she straightened up. “Now, stay right here and think carefully. When I come back, you better decide whether you want to live or die. Because if you still do not answer, then you will regret being born.”

The old woman rolled slightly, trying to move toward Su Qinglan, trying to beg through the cloth, but Su Qinglan did not even glance back. She simply walked toward the door with calm steps, not sparing a single look.

The hide curtain fell behind her with a heavy sound. The old woman was left tied like a helpless dumpling on the floor, her heart thumping in pure terror, while Su Qinglan didn’t even look back.

Su Qinglan paused for a moment at the entrance, letting the chill settle her burning anger. Her fingers tightened slightly. She could feel her heartbeat still pounding, the lingering instinct to destroy still running through her veins, just like the old days.

But she forced herself to breathe. She needed to be smart, not impulsive. Answers required patience, and patience had always been her weapon.

Suddenly she took a deep breath and calmed down; she does not want to appear like this in front of him, lest he get worried about her.
