Chapter 221: Chapter 221: Su Qinglan Visits Tu Ruyan’s Home
In the light rain outside, Tu Yelang walked slowly through the damp soil, listening to the quiet sniffles, the whispers, and the muffled cries.

His tribe was exhausted.

As he stepped back into the tree house where several males were staying, they all looked up.

“Leader Yelang!” Tu Xiaofei stood abruptly. “We will go hunt soon! We need to urgently find food.”

Tu Yelang raised a hand. “We’ll hunt together. I’ll lead.”

The boys straightened immediately, relief flashing in their eyes.

One whispered, “Leader… we’ll survive, right?”

Yelang forced a smile. “Of course. We have already found the place to stay, we just have to make sure no one goes hungry.”

There was a moment of silence, then all of them nodded firmly.

And yet…

As Yelang turned away, the image of Su Qinglan drifted into his mind again.

His heart squeezed painfully.

“She… she’s like a light,” he whispered to himself. “A sun.”

But then he remembered the three beast husbands who surrounded her like her personal guard.

Yelang shivered. He wasn’t stupid.

He knew he was nothing compared to them.

He was a little rabbit. A poor beastman. A temporary leader with no power, no strength, and no tribe backing.

He looked down at his trembling hands.

“…I shouldn’t dream.”

He exhaled, forcing his racing heart to calm.

“My tribe needs me more than my foolish heart does.”

He turned away from the tree window with a stiffened jaw.

He had no right to love someone like her.

Not when he couldn’t even protect his own tribe properly.

Su Qinglan and Hu Yan slowly reached the place where the rabbit tribe was staying, and coincidentally the house they went to first was actually Ruyan’s, the rabbit leader’s sister.

Before she could even say anything, Ruyan’s beast husband immediately stood up from the ground where he had been sitting. His rabbit ears twitched in alarm and then in relief when he saw Hu Yan standing there with Su Qinglan in his arms.

He hurriedly walked toward them and said in a soft voice, “Female witch doctor, please come inside?”

Su Qinglan simply lifted her hand lightly and said in a calm voice, “Don’t worry, I just came here to check up on her, nothing else, and just call me Qinglan.”

After saying this, she walked further inside and looked around before her eyes fell on the sleeping female lying on the thick pile of leaves and animal fur.

Soon the sleeping female stirred at the sound of voices and slowly opened her eyes.

The moment Ruyan heard the commotion she fully woke up and saw Su Qinglan sitting beside her, and she blinked a few times because she didn’t expect her to be this close.

Su Qinglan gently touched her hand and said softly, “Don’t worry, just lie down properly, I only came to check up on you, you need rest right now.”

Ruyan nodded obediently even though she looked a little embarrassed, and her beast husband anxiously crouched beside them saying, “Is she alright? What should I do? Tell me how to help.”

Su Qinglan reached into her small basket made of tree vines and took out three items and placed them in his palms, saying, “Boil all three of these in clean water until the water reduces to a small amount, then let her drink it. It will strengthen her body.”

Ruyan stared at the herbs in surprise and whispered, “Will… will this really work?” and Su Qinglan nodded firmly, saying, “Yes, it will help you regain strength faster and warm your body from inside.”

Then she took out a piece of fresh ginger from her basket and handed it to the beast husband and said, “Break a small piece of this and boil it separately in water and give it to her after some time, not immediately. Give it with a gap, three to four times a day until she stops feeling cold. It will warm her body properly.”

The beast husband nodded repeatedly like a chick pecking rice and said, “I will, I will do exactly as you say.”

Then Su Qinglan brought out four large fresh fruits that looked juicy and sweet and a full bowl of dried meat, and placed them near Ruyan and her beast husband. Ruyan looked at them with shining eyes because these things were extremely precious here.

Su Qinglan said, “These fruits are for her, and the dried meat is also for her, but you should know how to use it. You cannot give it directly. Soak it in water first so it softens a little, and then fry it lightly in a stone pan, just a quick sizzling is enough. Then let her eat it while it is warm.”

Looking at the female she had only met once, Ruyan felt her eyes clouding with tears. How could someone be so gentle and kind… she had never seen anyone help like this.

Ruyan shyly muttered, “Thank you… really… thank you,” and Su Qinglan lightly tapped her forehead with one finger and said, “You don’t have to thank me so much, just recover properly.”

Then she looked at the beast husband again and said in a serious voice, “And listen carefully, only give her boiled water to drink, nothing else. Don’t use water from puddles, rivers, or any dirty place. Collect fresh rainwater only. Rainwater is clean here, but you must still boil it until steam comes out strongly. Boil it for a long time, then cool it down, and only then give it to her. This way she will not fall sick from dirty water,” and he quickly nodded again, saying, “Yes, I understand, I will only use rainwater.”

Su Qinglan was about to stand and leave when she suddenly heard soft footsteps and small whispers from outside, and when she turned she saw many other beast pupils slowly peeking inside the tree house with extremely cautious expressions because they had heard that the fox female had returned.

They wanted to see whether it was true or not because even though they were curious, they were much more afraid, because no one had ever treated their females with so much kindness, and they still couldn’t fully believe it.

They feared that if Su Qinglan changed her mind then they would lose all hope, so they came quietly and gathered around the entrance hoping to not miss anything.

Su Qinglan looked at them and smiled because she felt relieved that she didn’t have to walk from one tree house to another.

“Since you are already here, come inside one by one. I will treat everyone right here,” and all the pupils became tense and excited at the same time, and they stepped inside carefully, and the tree house suddenly felt full because they all stood around in a circle while the little cubs clung to their mothers’ legs.

Su Qinglan repeated all the instructions in a clear voice, “You must give all females only boiled rainwater, no other water, and if any female feels cold then give her ginger water the same way I explained.”

The beast husbands listened seriously with their ears pointed upright because they didn’t want to make any mistakes, and the females nodded shyly because they rarely received such attention.

Then Su Qinglan took out more ginger pieces and handed one to every female beast and said, “This can be used by all of you. It will help keep the body warm, especially at night, so boil it properly before drinking,” and the females accepted it like they had been given a treasure and held it carefully with both hands.

After giving all instructions, Su Qinglan stood up, brushed her clothes, and said with a small sigh, “Alright, this should be enough for today. Take care of each other properly,” and the entire house filled with grateful voices as they thanked her again and again while she prepared to leave.
