Chapter 208: Chapter 208: Xuan Unlocks New Skill
Su Qinglan’s eyes twinkled suddenly with a little spark of evil playfulness flashing across her expression. She tilted her head and glared at Xuan Long with narrowed eyes, her lips pressing together tightly as she spoke through clenched teeth.
“Fine then,” she said slowly, each word dropping like a stone. “You stay away from me for one whole week.”
Xuan Long froze and looked at her with an expression of disbelief.
It felt like someone had turned him into a stone statue. His emerald eyes widened so fast Su Qinglan almost couldn’t control her laugh.
“Yes,” she continued firmly, nodding to herself as if confirming her decision. “A whole week. Then maybe you will finally learn to tell me before disappearing like that! Do you even understand,” she added sharply, “how terrified I felt when you vanished in such a dangerous season?!”
Her hands curled into fists again. Her voice trembled. She nodded again, more confidently this time.
Yes. This punishment was good. This punishment would really teach him a proper lesson.
Because honestly, what else could she do? She knew she was powerless when it came to punishing any of them. They were all strong as bulls. Beating them was like tapping on a tree trunk with a feather. It is a completely useless way. And denying them food? That was even more useless. They hardly cared about food anyway.
But there was one thing they cared about, and it should definitely be her, right?
So that was the perfect punishment. She would use herself as the bet…and if they still dared to disobey, then she would make sure they knew who they were dealing with, Su Qinglan thought with fire in her eyes.
The moment the realization hit Xuan Long, he felt like an entire mountain collapsed on him. A whole week away from her? Away from her warmth, scent, and soft body?
Impossible. His face went pale. A small broken sound escaped him.
“No… no… no…” he stuttered, his voice shaking as if the world was ending. “Lan Lan… I—I would never… I would never survive that…”
Before she could react, he grabbed her shoulders with both hands, panic flooding his eyes.
“Lan Lan, no!” he pleaded desperately. “I’m sorry…I’m really sorry… I will never leave like that again!” His voice turned pitiful and small. “Please don’t punish me like that. Please…”
His lips trembled. His eyes even became glossy, as if he were on the verge of crying.
Su Qinglan blinked.
Her anger softened instantly…she hated it, but she couldn’t help it. Watching him beg like a scared child melted all her anger in seconds. Her heart felt weak. Why was he doing that? … Hello, she is not immune to puppy faces and definitely not from such a tall, muscular man; heaven help her.
Ah… she really couldn’t punish him like that for an entire week. She sighed gently and touched his cheek.
“Fine,” she muttered. “But if you ever disappear like that again… then this punishment will definitely happen. And not just one week…two whole weeks. Understand?”
Xuan Long instantly nodded like an obedient puppy.
“Yes! Yes! I promise! I’ll never disappear again! Never!” he said quickly. “Lan Lan can punish me any other way she wants but not that!”
Before she could say anything else, he wrapped his arms around her tightly, burying his face into her neck as if trying to hide inside her skin. His long, cold body trembled faintly as he clung to her.
And then his expression changed.
He inhaled deeply… and immediately went stiff. Because she smelled faintly like something else.
Something that was not him. Something big with fur… probably a tiger.
Xuan Long’s eyes darkened instantly. A cold, sharp jealousy wrapped around him like a second skin. He clenched her even closer.
“…Lan Lan,” he whispered, his voice low and dangerously soft, “why do you smell like that tiger?”
Su Qinglan’s eyes widened, and she immediately slapped his arm lightly.
“Don’t sniff me like that!” she snapped, flustered. “And what do you mean why? I fainted! They carried me back! Obviously I would smell like them!”
But Xuan Long ignored her explanation.
He held her tighter, possessive and jealous, and whispered against her ear in a low tone that made her whole body tremble:
“Lan Lan… I am tired.” And with a pause he continues again, “I am hungry.”
She blinked.
“Oh…then let’s go eat something!” she said quickly. “You must have returned without eating…”
“No,” he interrupted.
He lifted her chin with his cold fingertips, his eyes burning with something dangerous.
“I am hungry for you, Lan Lan.”
Her entire face turned crimson.
“X-Xuan Long! Do you ever think about anything else?!”
But instead of answering, he suddenly pushed her down gently onto the bedding. His hands slid around her waist, his cold skin touching her warm stomach, making her gasp.
He bent down, kissing her neck softly…then greedily…his lips nibbling along her skin, his cold breath sending shivers through her whole body.
“Lan Lan…” he whispered again, his voice shaking with longing, “don’t push me away… not even as punishment…”
His fingers tightened around her waist, his legs nudging around her leg, pulling her closer.
Because after days without her…
He was starving…not for food but for her.
Su Qinglan’s breath hitched in her throat.
Xuan Long’s naughty hands didn’t wait for permission. They slid right inside the fabric of her dress, his touch bold and eager.
His skin was always so cold, like smooth, polished jade, and the moment his palm made contact with her warm waist, she trembled all over.
He hummed low in his throat, a vibration she could feel against her chest.
His large, cold hand moved slowly, drawing lazy, teasing circles against the bare skin of her back. It sent shivers racing down her spine, making her toes curl.
Then, she felt his fingers creeping upward, confident and purposeful. He was not fumbling like he used to in the beginning.
His fingers played with the band of her lingerie for just a second before…
Snap.
With a soft click, the clasp popped open.
Su Qinglan’s eyes widened. It seemed he had actually been trained on how to open these things properly now.
In the past, he would have just been confused or ripped the fabric, but now? He looked incredibly pleased with his new skill.
