Chapter 436: Big Brother!!!
Hearing the Baron’s explanation, Asher remained silent, momentarily shocked and genuinely dumbfounded. He did not know how to react to the words he had just heard. Initially, he had assumed the rumors circulating through the territory might have been about him directly, but now he understood that they were about the Wargrave family as a whole, and about what they had done in response.

‘Father personally made a move,’ Asher thought calmly, his expression remaining composed as his mind sank deeper into thought.

‘It hasn’t even been that long since the assassination attempt, yet they’re already wiped out… How did they even discover the attempt so quickly?’ His thoughts continued to churn. ‘Was I marked with the same artifact that allowed the assassins to track my location during the True Awakening?’

Although his face revealed nothing, a deep sense of pride stirred within Asher’s chest. To him, this was what family truly meant. To stand against the world for one another. To erase any threat without hesitation. To wipe out everything that dared reach for their kin.

His thoughts drifted back to the apocalypse event within the.Separate Dimension. During his battle with Doris, Thalric had arrived without delay, rushing in the moment danger presented itself. Then there was his personal confrontation with Cindralis itself, a moment where his elder brother had attacked without the slightest hesitation. Even his father, Azaron, had appeared in that place.

In both confrontations, they had been there for him instantly, without doubt, without fear, and without asking for justification.

‘But why did they do this openly this time?’ Asher wondered. According to his understanding, his family usually eliminated their enemies in the shadows, leaving behind no proof, no witnesses, and no concrete evidence. Even if rumors surfaced, they remained nothing more than whispers. Yet this time, they had stepped into the light so openly that even a Baron knew exactly who had participated in the annihilation.

‘Is it to instill fear… to remind everyone of the power of the Wargrave family?’ he thought. Slowly, he nodded internally, finding the reasoning sound. If the assassins had been sent by an enemy of a weaker caliber, neither his father nor his siblings would have intervened. They would have allowed him to deal with it himself, trusting his growth and strength. The only reason they had moved so decisively was because Valentine himself had been involved.

If only Asher knew how wrong he was.

On his father’s part, he was correct, Azaron would not move for trivial threats. But Malrik was different. To the First Sun, there was no such thing as a weak enemy. An enemy was an enemy, regardless of rank or status. And anyone who dared set their sights on his siblings? That made it personal. That was simply the kind of man Malrik Wargrave was. Yet Asher had not truly understood this side of him. To Asher, Malrik was still just his loving, dependable elder brother.

‘At least now I don’t have to rush my stay here,’ Asher mused inwardly.

Originally, he had planned to leave immediately after the current feast concluded. He had already anticipated that the Assassin Guild Leader would either send someone stronger or arrive personally. Asher had no confidence in matching such an opponent. He was talented, yes, but he was neither delusional nor naive.

His plan had been to retreat to the Wargrave estate with William and Finch, where he could make contact with Yveric, who was stationed there year-round. That plan was one of the primary reasons he had left the frontier immediately, without relaxing or taking even a single day off, something entirely out of character for him. It was also why he had used Star Energy to cross a distance that should have taken three full days in only twenty-one hours. .

If a new enemy arrived, any witnesses would be eliminated. That was the reality. At the frontier, if Asher and the team had remained there, every soldier present would have been wiped out simply for existing in the same vicinity as him.

The Whale noble family would have suffered the same fate as well. It would not have been the first time the Assassin Guild targeted a noble household. That was precisely why Asher had intended to depart for the Wargrave estate immediately after the family feast.

“Thank you for the information, Baron Whale,” Asher finally spoke. His tone and expression remained unchanged, his composure as flat and controlled as it had been before he even heard the news.

“No problem,” Baron Whale replied, his gaze lingering briefly on Asher. ‘Such composure… he truly is a Wargrave,’ the Baron mused inwardly. He had noticed that not even a single muscle in Asher’s body had twitched out of place.

From the moment the news of the Wargrave family’s retaliation reached his ears, the Baron had already understood that an assassination attempt had taken place. He knew Finch had been with Asher and was therefore in danger as well. After all, there was no world in which assassins would kill the Tenth Sun and leave Finch alive.

Yet the Baron had not panicked. The Wargrave family’s swift retaliation meant one thing, everyone had survived. That was all that mattered. There was no need for concern. Thus, he had simply stationed his Knight Commander at the territory gate to await his son’s return. What he had not expected was for the Tenth Sun to accompany Finch, as he had assumed Asher would immediately return to the Wargrave estate following the assassination attempt.

Soon, the dining hall door creaked open. The Whale family’s head butler entered with quiet steps and a calm demeanor. He approached respectfully, leaning in to whisper something into the Baron’s ear. The Baron nodded once in response. Without another word, the butler bowed to everyone present before turning and leaving the hall.

“I apologize, Tenth Sun, but it seems my time with you must be cut short,” Baron Whale said as he rose from his seat. “It appears I have a visitor. Duty calls.”

Lady Vie also stood to follow her husband. Rachael moved as well, about to rise from her chair, but Baron Whale shook his head gently. “Stay with your brother,” he said calmly. “You haven’t seen him in quite a while.”

With a final nod to Asher, William, and Finch, Baron Whale and Lady Vie exited the dining hall with the composed elegance befitting their status. The moment the doors closed behind them, Rachael moved.

She leapt over the glass table without hesitation, her arms spread wide and a radiant smile stretching across her face. She jumped into the air as she shouted enthusiastically, “Big Brother!!!”

She crashed straight into Finch’s chest, wrapping her arms around him tightly. Happiness coursed through every part of her body, flooding her veins as she embraced him with pure, unrestrained joy.
