Chapter 328: 328- Lin Zhaoyue
Zhao Lusi watched the fading glow of Lin Xi’s breakthrough with mild satisfaction.
She brushed a strand of hair behind her ear and nodded once.
“That should serve as a perfect welcome gift,” she said, sounding quite pleased with herself.
Fang Yuan, however, looked far less impressed.
He turned to her, brows slightly furrowed.
“Master, she is the matriarch of the Lin Branch Family,” he said. “I only allowed her to break through because I was certain I could handle her even if she reached the Nascent Soul Realm.”
Zhao Lusi tilted her head.
“And your point being?”
Fang Yuan exhaled slowly.
“What if she decides to rebel? What if she uses her newfound strength to take control of the Fang Family?”
Zhao Lusi stared at him, searching his expression for any hint of deceit or deception.
After finding none, she nodded.
“Very well. What do you want?”
Fang Yuan did not hesitate for even a breath.
“Lin Zhaoyue,” he said. “I want you to restore her memories and return her to her prime.”
Zhao Lusi raised a brow, lips curving in slight amusement.
“And what makes you believe I can do that?”
Fang Yuan did not give her an answer.
He simply held her gaze steadily, as if the answer was obvious.
Zhao Lusi’s shoulders sagged with an exasperated sigh.
“You troublesome disciple…”
Then she lifted her hand and snapped her fingers.
A few shimmering strands of her spiritual qi swirled around her fingertips, delicate as silk threads.
They drifted into the air, glowing faintly, and shot off across the horizon toward the Fang Estate.
Zhao Lusi dusted her hands lightly.
“There. Your little wife should return to normal soon.”
Before Fang Yuan could express gratitude, she snapped her fingers again and the space twisted.
Light dissapeared and when Fang Yuan opened his eyes again, he found himself standing upon a vast ridge hills.
He instinctively drew a breath and found the spiritual energy was so thick it felt like fine mist brushing against his skin.
Every inhale flooded his meridians with vitality.
It was like standing at the center of a spirit gathering formation.
The landscape stretched endlessly, bathed in soft golden light as clouds drifted lazily over distant mountain peaks.
Strange flowers glowed faintly among the grass, pulsing with natural qi. Small spirit beasts flickered in and out between the bushes like shadows.
Fang Yuan’s eyes widened despite himself.
This was nothing like the mortal continent he came from.
Zhao Lusi walked ahead, hands clasped behind her back.
“Welcome to the East Continent,” she announced.
Her voice carried a quiet pride as she stepped forward without looking back.
“We will walk from here.”
Fang Yuan followed, each step sinking into grass softer than silk. His gaze swept the horizon, absorbing every detail of the world that would soon become his reality.
He was so caught up in the wonder of it all that Zhao Lusi’s next words cut through the air like a whispered blade.
“I know very well you did not ask me to restore your wife’s memory out of fear of Lin Xi.”
Her tone was casual, as though discussing the weather.
Fang Yuan’s steps faltered for a breath.
Internally, he sighed.
And i thought I had her fooled.
He forced a light, innocent laugh.
“I am afraid I don’t know what you mean.”
Zhao Lusi glanced back over her shoulder, her lips curling into a playful smile.
“You are right,” she said lightly. “Well, you must be at least this cunning if you wish to survive in the sect, haha.”
Fang Yuan blinked.
That… did not sound like an encouraging statement.
A faint chill crept up his spine.
He cleared his throat, trying to keep his voice steady.
“Master… what type of sect are you from?”
The moment the words left his mouth, Zhao Lusi burst into hearty laughter.
“Oh, Fang Yuan…” She wiped a tear from her eye.
“It is far too late to be asking questions like that, my guinea pig.”
Meanwhile, back in the mortal realm, the entire Fang Estate trembled with a mixture of excitement and fear.
News had already spread like wildfire through Mount Skyhowl.
Lin Xi, the Matriarch of the Lin Family, had successfully ascended to the Nascent Soul Realm.
The Lin elders were practically glowing with pride. Their cheers echoed across the mountain as if they had won a war.
Even Du Juan had personally came over to offer her congratulations.
The Fang elders, however, were not nearly as cheerful.
Their expressions ranged from stiff smiles to quiet dread. It was not because Lin Xi had ascended. They had no issue celebrating that.
Far away from the noisy crowd, Fang Chen pulled Fang Jingyi aside.
His face had gone pale, and he swallowed hard as he stared at her.
“Sister… please do not joke around at a time like this,” he whispered. “Are you certain she regained her memories?”
Fang Jingyi nodded without hesitation.
Fang Chen felt his knees weaken.
His soul almost leaped out of his body, yet he somehow remained standing through sheer force of will.
Just then Lin Zhaoyue slid open the door to her room and stepped out, her long hair flowing loosely behind her.
The moment she appeared, every elder stiffened as if struck by lightning.
Lin Zhaoyue’s eyes swept across the group, her expression cool and slightly irritated.
“What,” she said slowly, tapping her foot once, “are all you useless fools doing here?”
The elders flinched collectively.
She raised an eyebrow higher, voice dripping with impatient.
“Did the sky fall? Did someone die? Or are you all simply standing around because you have nothing better to do?”
The elders exchanged frantic looks.
Fang Chen nearly choked on his own breath.
The other elders bowed immediately.
“M–Matriach Lin… good morning!”
She sighed in clear annoyance.
“Good morning? Do you think I care about greetings? Move aside. You are blocking the path.”
They scattered like terrified birds.
Lin Zhaoyue walked past them, her expression remained unimpressed the entire time.
Inwardly, the Fang elders were crying.
She had regain her memories.
