Chapter 315: 315- the Last Saberfang [2]
The blue pulse of light between Lin Zhaoyue and the Saberfang faded but the world itself suddenly shuddered.

A deep vibration rolled through the streets of Coldwind City, like the rumble of an awakening mountain.

Fang Yuan’s eyes snapped upward as a distortion formed in the sky.

A vast shadow churned behind it, eclipsing the sunlight itself and that’s when it happened.

BOOM.

A colossal form arrived into existence.

The shockwave shattered roofs and sent cracks racing across the broken roads. Dust exploded upward in a storm.

Lin Zhaoyue stumbled back, eyes wide while the Saberfang let out a terrified whimper and shrank behind her.

When the dust finally settled, a titanic tortoise the size of a mountain was brought to view.

Its moss-covered shell resembled a craggy cliff face, waterfalls cascading down its sides.

Its head lowered slowly, glowing eyes the color of storms.

The ground trembled with every breath the Beast Emperor took.

Fang Yuan instinctively stepped forward, shielding Lin Zhaoyue behind him.

The beast’s gaze locked onto him and for a moment, silence prevailed the place.

Then the enormous creature opened its mouth and its voice shook the ruins, deep and resonant:

“TINY HUMAN…

YOU MUST RUN.”

The words were not shouted, they were simply too large for the world to contain, making the air thrum.

Fang Yuan’s hair whipped back from the force alone.

Lin Zhaoyue clutched his sleeve, trembling while her Saberfang crouched low, tail between its legs.

The colossal tortoise slowly lowered its head further, as though trying to speak on a level closer to theirs.

“RUN…”

its voice rumbled through stone and earth,

“…BEFORE SHE ARRIVES.”

A chill pricked Fang Yuan’s spine.

“‘She’?” he murmured.

The tortoise’s eyes flickered with fear before The sky darkened and a gust of unnatural wind swept through the whole of Coldwind City.

Lin Zhaoyue shivered violently.

“Patriarch Fang…”

her voice trembled,

“W-What is happening…?”

Fang Yuan did not look away from the tortoise because he could also feel it, something truly powerful was approaching.

The colossal tortoise closed its eyes as a deep, weary sigh echoed from its throat, the sound vibrating through the ruined city like thunder rolling in distant mountains.

“IT IS TOO LATE NOW…”

the tortoise murmured, voice trembling with resignation.

“DO NOT DO OR SAY ANYTHING FOOLISH, LITTLE HUMAN.”

Fang Yuan’s gaze sharpened.

Too late? For what—

But his thoughts was interrupted by soft laugh drifted from the sky.

“Ahhh… crossing worlds is always a hassle…” a voice muttered lazily as clouds parted.

A figure descended.

She walked down the sky itself as though it were silk stairs.

Her robe fluttered in slow motion, embroidered with patterns of shifting constellations.

Her hair flowed like liquid ink.

Every step oozed power and an effortless beauty that felt both enchanting and dangerously wild.

Her eyes scanned the ruined city with mild boredom before it landed on Fang Yuan and the mountain-sized tortoise beside him.

In an instant, her expression lit up.

“Oh!”

Her voice rang with genuine delight.

“Xuanwu! You did do it! You finally raised a Hollow Spirit Realm human just like I told you to!”

Fang Yuan froze.

Raised?

Hollow Spirit Realm… human?

Fang Yuan didn’t hesitate as he grabbed Lin Zhaoyue, pulling her close to his chest, and leapt away with all the force his body could muster, aiming to put as much distance as possible between them and the celestial woman.

BOOM!

A domain snapped into existence in an instant.A shimmering barrier enveloped them, sealing Fang Yuan and Lin Zhaoyue inside like insects trapped in amber.

He hadn’t even had time to circulate his qi.

The domain was simply there, formed in a fraction of a heartbeat, cutting them off from the world.

Fang Yuan’s blood ran cold when he realised he couldn’t even formed a void.

This—

This woman…

His instincts screamed.

She was not someone whose strength he could measure.

Nor was she someone he could try and outrun.

And definitely not someone he could fight…

For the first time in a long, long while…

Fang Yuan realized he had finally met someone genuinely strong.

Stronger than anything he had encountered.

Stronger than anything he had imagined.

Lin Zhaoyue trembled in his arms.

“Patriarch Fang… who… who is she…?”

He didn’t gave an answer because he also didn’t know.

He still kept his body angled protectively in front of Lin Zhaoyue.

His eyes narrowed toward the massive tortoise.

“So your name is Xuanwu…” Fang Yuan said calmly, though his pulse was anything but.

“And you two planned all this, huh?”

Xuanwu’s enormous head jerked up.

“WHAT?!”

The beast Emperor recoiled so hard the ground trembled.

Its massive tail slapped the earth.

“No! No no no no—ABSOLUTELY not!”

The tortoise shook its head wildly, waterfalls spraying off its shell.

“I did not plan anything! I swear upon my shell! I swear upon the heavens! I swear upon—”

The woman above them giggled.

A soft, amused sound.

“Haha… Xuanwu, you poor thing,” she purred, descending slowly, eyes sparkling with mischief. “But are you defying my orders?”

Xuanwu’s massive body slumped like a mountain collapsing.

“THIS IS NOT MY FAULT! I NEVER KNEW ABOUT THIS GUY UNTIL TODAY!”

Meanwhile, the woman tilted her head, smiling down at Fang Yuan.

“Oh, I like him,” she said.

“He’s cute.”

Fang Yuan’s jaw tightened.

“So I was targeted.”

The woman smiled wider, leaning forward.

“Targeted? Oh no no… not exactly.”

Her eyes gleamed like stars.

“It’s simply fate, little one.”

The woman stepped lightly onto the cracked ground, her feet never quite touching the dust.

Every movement of hers was graceful and unhurried.

Her eyes, bright and playful, fixed on Fang Yuan unmoving.

“Since some misunderstandings are floating around,” she said with a small, amused smile, “let me first introduce myself properly.”

She placed a hand on her chest and executed a delicate bow.

“My name,” she declared,

“is Zhao Lusi.”

Her smile widened, eyes glimmering with stars.

“And I am in the Human Immortal Realm.”
