Chapter 306: 306- Nascent Soul Ascent.
Du Juan smiled softly, the faint curve of her lips never faltering.

“Alright then. It’s going to be our little secre—” Her words stopped mid-breath.

For a moment, she simply stared, her eyes unfocused as an odd stillness washed over her face.

The hum of conversation in the hall faded into a distant blur.

Fang Yuan noticed the hesitation, tilting his head slightly, calm but puzzled.

Du Juan blinked once, then twice, as if trying to recall what she had just said. There was no real reason her tongue had formed those words, no calculation behind them.

Yet the moment they left her mouth, she felt as if she was being herself and at the same time, not.

She turned toward Fang Yuan, a flicker of quiet confusion clouding her gaze.

Without saying a word, Fang Yuan met her eyes and then he gave a small, deliberate nod.

Her confusion deepened. Why did he nod to her? Is that a secret message?

She continued to stare at him, trying to piece it together. And then, to her surprise, Fang Yuan suddenly laughed.

Du Juan blinked, still caught in that strange haze, before finding her voice again.

“Why are you laughing?” she asked, tilting her head.

Then, quickly, she raised a hand and brushed her cheek self‑consciously. “Do I have something on my face?”

Fang Yuan shook his head, his smile lingering.

“It’s just…” he paused, searching for the right words, his gaze softening, “you looked so cute and innocent… it’s… it felt like an irony.”

“Irony?” Du Juan repeated, puzzled, her brow furrowing slightly.

But before she could question further, Fang Yuan’s expression slipped back into that collected calm of his.

“We’ll talk after the meeting,” he murmured.

With a quiet snap of his fingers, the invisible barrier dissolved into thin air, and the hum of the hall flowed back into their senses.

Conversations, gasps, and hurried whispers filled the space once more. Fang Yuan turned his attention toward the gathered elders, their faces still etched with astonishment.

Across the room, Matriarch Lin sat motionless, eyes wide and shimmering with excitement and disbelief.

Du Juan straightened beside him, her poise effortlessly returning. Her lips moved slightly, her voice gliding through spiritual resonance like a whisper only he could hear.

“Everything’s been completed as you instructed, Clan Head.”

Fang Yuan’s eyes met hers and then he gave a faint nod.

As the meeting drew to a close, the grand hall seemed to hold its breath.

The faint glow from the twin spatial rings still lingered in the air like afterimages of a miracle.

The elders of both clans sat frozen, minds reeling as if trying to measure the impossible weight of the moment.

Fang Yuan rose slightly from his seat, his voice calm but carrying through the hall with quiet authority.

“If anyone here has anything they wish to add,” he said, “speak now.”

For a moment, silence reigned.

Then, Matriarch Lin stood, gathering her composure before bowing deeply.

“If I may,” she began carefully, her tone respectful yet steady, “I would like to request a cultivation cave, so that I might attempt to step into the Nascent Soul Realm.”

Fang Yuan regarded her silently. Without a word, he extended his hand and drew out a slender scroll from his spatial ring, followed by a brush.

The faint glow of spiritual ink shimmered as he began writing.

Stroke by deliberate stroke, his hand glided across the paper with unhurried precision.

Two minutes passed.

Not a single person dared to move. Even breathing felt like an intrusion.

Matriarch Lin’s mind ran wild with panic as each heartbeat stretched the silence further. Had she said something wrong? Had her request overstepped her place? Cold sweat gathered at her temples.

Did I offend him? she thought, her throat dry as she swallowed hard, afraid to make the slightest sound.

Finally, Fang Yuan’s hand stopped. He set down the brush, studied the scroll for a moment, then smiled faintly.

Lifting his gaze, he met Matriarch Lin’s anxious eyes.

“Lin Xi,” he said calmly, “we have not yet prepared a cultivation cave suitable for your advancement. However, given your situation’s urgency…”

With a flick of his wrist, the scroll drifted through the air, landing gently before her.

“That,” he continued, “is a blueprint for a Heaven‑grade Spirit Gathering Formation.”

For a heartbeat, the hall was still. Then, it erupted.

Gasps rippled like waves across the crowd. Eyes widened with disbelief, some glistening with unshed tears.

“A Heaven‑grade… Spirit Gathering Formation?!” someone whispered, voice trembling..

“Heavens above…!”

The Lin elders looked toward their matriarch, their pride and awe overflowing.

Thoughts flashed like lightning across their minds.. What titans have we aligned with? What fortune have we stumbled into?

One elder even clasped his hands together, barely containing his excitement.

“Matriarch Lin,” he breathed, “you are incredible… I was a fool to have ever to doubted you!”

Meanwhile, on the other hand Matriarch Lin stood frozen, staring at the scroll in disbelief.

Her fingers trembled as she reached out, unrolling it just enough to see the delicate runic patterns woven across its surface.

Her breath stopped and she pressed the scroll to her chest, bowing deeply, her voice quivering but clear.

“Clan Head Fang… this grace, this generosity… I can never hope to repay. The Lin family will forever remember today’s kindness!”

Emotion surged through her words. The façade of calm she’d worn cracked into pure exhilaration; her eyes glimmered with tears as she knelt low, forehead nearly touching the floor.

Fang Yuan waved a hand lightly, his tone even.

“Rise, Lin Xi. You may go and begin your preparations. Gather the necessary ingredients. I trust you know the value of time in moments like this.”

She looked up at him as if receiving a divine command, vigor and purpose blazing anew in her expression.

“Yes, Clan Head!”

Without another pause, she turned and dashed out of the hall, her spiritual energy flickering behind her like a trail of flame.

The echo of her footsteps faded into the distance.
