Chapter 305: 305- New Changes.
On that topic, Fang Yuan’s mind drifted suddenly to Doctor Mu…. His eyes flicked momentarily downward. Wait wait, didn’t the doctor asked me to take in his grandson as a disciple?!

But Du Juan’s calm, melodic voice drew him back.

“As today marks a new beginning for both clans,” she continued, “I would like to offer a small token of goodwill that will help both the clans.”

She raised her palms, and two delicate spatial rings floated above them, glinting faintly with spiritual light.

“Please accept them as gifts, from me and my family to both the Fang and Lin families.”

When she rose, her eyes found Fang Jingyi and Matriarch Lin.

With a graceful motion, she extended her hands.

“Would you two esteemed ladies,” Du Juan said, her smile warm and respectful, “do me the honor of accepting these gifts on behalf of both clans?”

The two spatial rings floated forward between them, faintly glowing.

Both Matriarch Lin and Fang Jingyi approached, the faint glow from the two spatial rings illuminating their faces.

Du Juan smiled gracefully, her composure unshaken by the hundreds of eyes fixed upon her.

“Contained within these two rings,” she began, her tone light and even, “are the following: ten thousand Qi Realization Pills.”

The first words struck the hall like thunder.

Clang!

An elder’s teacup slipped from his trembling hand and shattered against the floor.

Another choked on his breath, coughing violently as if the words themselves had gone down the wrong way.

Fang Chen on the side went frozen with his mouth slightly open.

His daughter, Fang Mei, standing behind him, blinked in disbelief before reaching out with both hands and gently trying to close his jaw.

“Father… you won’t get me a mother at this rate,” she whispered.

From the corner, Fang Lian let out a soft giggle, unable to help herself.

Aside from those two, the others were all in stunned silence.

But Du Juan wasn’t finished.

Her expression remained calm, almost serene, as she continued, “Additionally there’s ten thousand Qi Condensation Pills, seven thousand Qi Transformation Pills… and six hundred Golden Core Pills.”

The air exploded.

Every elder in the room, be it Fang or Lin leapt to their feet.

Some shouted in disbelief, others rubbed their eyes as if the numbers might vanish.

The entire grand hall rippled with spiritual energy as excitement, greed, and awe surged through the crowd.

“This—this many?!” an elder gasped.

“Impossible! Even a Pill King Alchemist Guild couldn’t refine such a stockpile!”

“Six hundred Golden Core Pills?! Did she rob a kingdom or something?!”

From his seat, Fang Yuan smiled to himself. Close enough but instead of one, we robbed two kingdoms.

The stunned expressions of the elders were a sight to behold.

He chuckled inwardly. I should probably do this more often, slap them now and then with pills and rare herbs.

Fang Chen eyes were glassy, locked on the two small rings as though they contained heaven itself.

It wasn’t until the chaos had nearly reached its peak that Du Juan spoke again.

Her voice was gentle but steady, instantly silencing the storm.

“Oh, and there is… one more thing.”

Every head turned toward her.

From her waist, Du Juan withdrew a slender jade bottle and walked toward Matriarch Lin.

The Lin elders, still reeling from the earlier shock, watched her approach their matriach.

“Matriarch Lin,” Du Juan said softly, “I heard that you are currently at the peak of the Golden Core Realm.”

“Ah—yes, I…” Matriarch Lin stammered, blinking rapidly.

Her voice cracked slightly from the daze she was still in. “I am… though, I’m getting old. I’ve long given up on finding a Nascent Soul Pill.”

She exhaled with a wry smile. “At this point, I simply wish to guide the younger generation.”

Du Juan’s smile deepened. “Then perhaps fate has smiled upon you after all.”

With both hands, she presented the jade bottle.

The faintest wisp of spiritual energy escaped its seal, a pressure so pure and dense that every cultivator present instinctively drew in a sharp breath.

Inside were two perfectly formed pills that shimmered with translucent golden light.

“Please forgive me,” Du Juan said humbly, “as I could only procure two.”

Matriarch Lin froze. Her fingers trembled as she received the bottle, her composure utterly shattered.

Her spiritual sense brushed against the contents and she staggered, nearly dropping it.

Her eyes widened, trembling with disbelief. “Th–This is… a genuine Nascent Soul Pill…”

Matriarch Lin clutched the jade bottle as if it were her very soul. “Lady Du Juan… this—this is beyond generosity. These are treasures that could ignite wars!”

Du Juan smiled faintly, bowing her head. “Please, take it as a token of friendship and as my wish to see both our clans rise together.”

And for the first time in a long while, even the most skeptical Lin elders lowered their heads in respect.

Fang Yuan watched the scene unfold, his eyes half-lidded, a faint, unreadable smile curving his lips.

Perfect, he thought. The first step toward unity has already begun.

Just then he felt a gentle poke on his shoulder.

He turned, and there was Lin Zhaoyue, leaning ever so slightly toward him, her expression a mix of curiosity and suspicion.

Her silken hair brushed lightly against his arm as she inched closer.

Without a word, Fang Yuan raised his hand subtly. A thin, near-invisible barrier of spiritual energy shimmered into place around them, sealing their voices from every other ear in the hall.

Zhaoyue’s lips parted, her tone barely above a whisper.

“Was this… all staged by you?”

Her soft voice carried just the faintest trace of accusation, though her eyes, wide and glimmering, betrayed amusement more than reproach.

Fang Yuan tilted his head toward her, his lips curving in that familiar, unhurried smile.

“Yep,” he murmured quietly. “But let’s keep this our little secret, alright?”

For a moment, Lin Zhaoyue just blinked at him, caught off guard.

Then her cheeks turned a faint shade of pink as she looked up at him, uncertain whether to laugh or not.

The sight tugged an awkward chuckle out of Fang Yuan himself. He realized belatedly how his words sounded, like a parent bribing a mischievous child into silence.

He coughed lightly into his hand, glancing away.
