259: 259- Updated* 259: 259- Updated* Fang Lian gulped.

She debated, should she indulge her master by asking about the technique, or remain silent?

But the words slipped out before she could even decide.

“That’s… an interesting one, Master.

How did you come up with it?” Fang Yuan’s lips curved in a rare smile, his tone brightening with a hint of joy.

“You see, Lian’er, life is very beautiful.” Her eyes widened slightly, the sudden warmth in his voice catching her off guard.

She leaned in, listening carefully as his story unfolded.

“I was fighting this old man, and I was overpowering him completely and when I say completely, I really mean it.

The difference between our realms was so vast I could even crushed him with sheer strength alone.

But his body… it was different.

Do you remember our family’s move, the Tyrant Light Sword – Star Form?” Fang Lian nodded quickly, eyes shining.

“Oh right, I taught you that,” Fang Yuan said with a chuckle, “and you even perfected it!

Hehe, I don’t even know how to perfect it myself.” She blinked, her lips parting, utterly taken by both the admission and his amusement.

“But that aside,” Fang Yuan continued, “with the imperfect version, I struck the old man.

I expected him to be flattened instantly-squashed to death.

But instead, he pulled the wildest trick I’d ever seen!

he reflected the damage back onto me!” Fang Lian gasped softly, hanging on every word.

“Heh,” Fang Yuan’s smile deepened, a gleam in his eye.

“That was the only thrill I needed.

I took the blunt of it, faked a front and drove them off, and then… from that single exchange, I grasped a fragment of his technique.

I took it, refined it, and made it the third form of the Golden Shell Armor.” His voice lowered, almost reverent.

“How’s that?

Beautiful, isn’t it?” Fang Lian nodded hard.

“That’s… amazing, Master,” Fang Lian said softly, her voice full of genuine awe.

Fang Yuan’s lips curved into a warm, proud smile.

“Thanks, Lian’er… and I’m… I’m sorry about earlier.

I just… don’t know how to express my feelings while keeping an expression worthy of the Clan Head.” Fang Lian’s heart softened.

She stepped a little closer, trying to comfort him.

“Ah, Master… I… I think you don’t need to worry about appearances.

No one will judge you.” Fang Yuan’s eyes met hers, a faint glimmer of gratitude within the calm.

“Lian’er… sometimes I have to stand strong, to look like the wall you can rely on.

To be someone worthy of your trust.” Fang Lian opened her mouth, wanting to reply, but no words came.

She closed it again, unsure what to say.

Fang Yuan’s expression softened, then shifted subtly, a glint of excitement returning to his eyes.

“That aside… do you want to learn the new move, audacity?” Fang Lian nodded eagerly, her earlier awe now mingled with anticipation.

Fang Yuan smiled, a faint, proud curve of his lips.

“Alright.

Let’s see how quick that brain of yours can grasp my teaching.” Without another word, they moved, the courtyard fading behind them.

The sun slowly sank behind Mount Skyhowl, casting long shadows over the Feng Clan’s stronghold.

Inside, the clan had gathered in a tight, heated meeting.

“Traitor Sheng!

Do you even realize what you’ve done to the clan?

You’ve cut off our leg, and you dare show your face here?!” “Heretic Sheng!

Go rot in a hole!

You son of a prostitute, your mother is a whore!” “Hey, calm down!

You don’t need to insult his mother every time you speak.” A sheepish cough followed.

“Ahem… I’m sorry.” The hall fell into a tense silence, the mixture of fury and absurdity hanging thick in the air.

An old man stood at the front, bound in heavy chains, his body bruised and bloodied.

Ignoring the barrage of insults hurled at him, he shouted, voice cracking but fierce, “I’m telling you!

The Fang family is not someone to be trifled with!

Their Clan Head… he’s at the Hollow Spirit Realm!” “Shut up, Yuan Sheng!” The roar came from the patriarch’s seat, the clan patriarch himself, his face twisted with fury.

“You’ve not only brought disgrace upon the Feng Clan, but you dare spout propaganda for the very family that hosts our greatest nemesis?!” The patriarch’s voice thundered through the hall, shaking even the stone walls.

“You took away the clan’s most talented warriors, despite our vehement opposition, and got them all killed!

And yet… you had the audacity to return here alive after all that?!” Yuan Sheng’s chains rattled as he struggled to stay upright, bloodied and battered, but his defiance did not waver.

The patriarch’s fury flared hotter, his voice cutting through the hall like a blade.

“I only told you to capture that infant!

How hard could it be?

You had the clan’s finest tools at your disposal, the best warriors at your command!

And yet… what have you done?

You sacrificed hundreds of our own, and you couldn’t even complete your task!

You deserve to be sent to the very peak of Mount Skyhowl!” A shiver ran through the room.

Whispers of fear spread among the assembled clan members, and even the bloodied Yuan Sheng stiffened, the chains clanking as he struggled to remain standing under the weight of the patriarch’s rage.

Yuan Sheng’s voice cracked, filled with desperation and fury.

“I’m telling you!

Their Clan Head… he’s a Hollow Spirit Realm!

I came back to warn you about him!

Do you think I would be stupid enough to return?

I have family here, run, all of you, run!” The patriarch sneered, his contempt evident.

“Right… Hollow Spirit Realm.

That old witch Xiao Bai never even reached that level in all her hundreds of years at the peak, and you’re telling me some greenhorn, not even half a century old, is already there?!” He leaned forward, eyes burning with wrath.

“Shut your mouth!

You said you could come back to save your family, didn’t you?

Fine!

We’ll send your family along with you… straight to their deaths!” A chorus of enraged voices erupted from the other elders, their screams echoing in agreement, sealing Yuan Sheng’s fate as the hall descended into chaos.

One elder even screamed again,”That’s all you amount to?

After all those years your whore of a mother wasted raising you, this is the best she could produce?

Pathetic!”
