809: Congratulations, Mr.

Winslow, the feelings look mutual!

Arwen stared at him and pursed her lips before slowly nodding.

“Fine, if that keeps you calm.

But wait,” she pressed her finger against his chest before gently poking him to say, “You can’t cage me at home 24X7.

I won’t live a life of a prisoner for the nine months.”  “You can never be a prisoner, Moon,” Aiden said, his tone slightly serious.

“Not under my watch.” She rolled her eyes.

“The way you are panicking over every small thing now, I feel like I will end up being a prisoner at home for my entire pregnancy.

And there is no way I am letting that happen.

So, you’d better know what I am not signing for.”  “Moon, I -”  “Don’t Moon me now, dear husband,” Arwen said, grabbing and tugging at his collar.

“Just listen to what I am signing for and what I am not.

So that you know where you can control, and where you cannot.”  Aiden stared at her, his eyes darting to look down at his collar that was still in her clasp.

When he stared back at her, the confidence in her eyes didn’t waver, and that just filled him with inexplicable pride.

He laughed, shaking his head, before giving her a nod to go ahead.  Arwen pursed her lips again, but she didn’t comment on his small reaction.

Instead, she went straight to talk about what she had brought up.  “So, yes, fine, I understand that this is our first time becoming parents, and you are a little too concerned about me and this entire thing, but wait there.” She tapped on his nose as though to pause him.

“You can let your anxiousness control everything.

Control me and our baby’s mood.”  “I agree with you,” she pointed out before explaining.

“I won’t let work matters stress me out, and let you handle it all.

However, you need to understand that I have always kept myself engaged with work and other things.

Leaving them will just bore me, and instead of helping me, it will just stress me out.

So, instead of making me forfeit completely for the entire nine months, reduce my workload and hours.

That will help us both.

What do you think?”  Aiden’s brows tugged together, and just when she thought he would refuse her, she saw him nodding.

“As long as you agree to prioritize your rest over your work, that’s negotiable.”  Arwen’s eyes brightened, and she at once responded, “Of course, I will prioritize my health and rest first.

You won’t have to complain for that.” He didn’t say anything, but his gaze remained on her as though waiting for her to continue.  “The next thing on the list is that -expect me changing,” she said, and then eyed him as though it was a very serious thing.

“This is the most important one.

You need to be ready to accept my worst now.

Not just the mood, attitude, or tantrums, but even my looks.”  Her eyes dimmed suddenly, and she looked away, avoiding his eyes.

“My eating habits would probably change.

I heard pregnancy could make you glow up or but as the months would grow on me, my skin might go dull, and I might even put on the weight.

I won’t look the way I look now.

Even the best dresses would look boring on me.

So, when that time comes, I hope you won’t start to hate me.

After all, research has shown men often lose interest in their wives when they are pregnant and -”  “I was never just interested in you, Moon.” Aiden’s words came carrying an edge in them -one that was subtle but was clearly there.

“I have always loved you.

Interests can fade away, but lovers can never.

Interested can dim down, but love carries no such compulsion, Moon.

So irrelevant of the worst of you, my love for you would never let me hate you.

Because I am simply not capable of that.”  Arwen’s breath hitched, and her gaze blurred with emotion.  He cupped her cheeks before slowly caressing her skin.

“You don’t have to grow insecure about yourself, Moon.

Because to me, you will always be the most beautiful one.

Nothing could stop me from loving you more every other day.”  “Stop it,” Arwen said, pressing her hand over his lips and looking away to blink off the tears from her eyes.

“I am already sold at your words.

You don’t have to say anymore.”  Aiden’s fingers curled and reached to hook down her chin before turning her face back to him.  She looked into his eyes only to notice his gaze was heavy with emotion.

“What’s wrong?” she asked, not understanding why he was looking at her that way.

He didn’t respond to her immediately, and looking at him like that, she felt like she was struggling inside to phrase his words.

She didn’t make haste; she waited, giving him the space and time he needed.  If he had a world of patience for her, she would give him the universe of patience.

She can wait for him forever, if that’s what he needs.  “Moon,” he finally said, “Thank you for choosing me again in your life.

Having you completes me in a way that I feel that after having you, I need nothing, absolutely nothing in this life.”  She heard him, and her lips curled up.

Leaning in, she let her forehead rest over his.

Breathing in his breath, she said, “Congratulations, Mr.

Winslow, the feelings look mutual.” She paused only to hear his heartbeat, clear in her ears.

“I know it’s hard to believe, but trust me, I am not lying.

You have completed me and my life in a way, nothing else has.” They remained holding each other like that, and everything else around grew silent.

Only the sound of their heartbeats -calm and satisfied remained.  After a moment, when Arwen opened her eyes and pulled away, a flicker of light caught her attention, and she turned to look out of the window.  And the sight outside the window was the one that had kept her fascinated for as long as she remembered.

From the day she first came here and saw it.  Moon’s Dream Garden.

“Don’t you think it’s time for you to tell me the story behind that?” she whispered softly.

Aiden didn’t understand.

Looking at her, he asked, “Behind what?”  And she jutted her chin towards the window.

“Moon’s Dream Garden.”  He followed her gesture and turned to stare out of the window.

His gaze grew a shade warmer, recollecting a memory from their past.  “I am sure there’s a story behind it.

A tale that connects me and you to that garden’s mere existence.

So, tell me, if I am guessing it right?

Or am I just overthinking?”  Aiden paused for a second before shaking his head.

“You aren’t guessing anything wrong,” he said, turning back to her.

“This garden is yours.”  “Mine?” Her brows scrunched, and she looked at him as though waiting for him to go on further and tell her the story behind it.  “Moon’s Dream Garden,” Aiden repeated, a small smile curving up his lips.

“A garden that was once in your dreams.

It’s created just the way you wanted with lights and trees that never cease to bloom.”  He then turned again towards the garden and continued, “I promised it to you, and how can I not fulfil the words that I have given to you.

Before leaving, I requested someone to plant Pink Mongolia, Flowering Dogwood and Cherry Blossoms with a fountain of lights.

It was also a symbol of hope that I gave to myself.

Hope to have you back in my life just so that I could show you this and see your eyes brighten up the same way they had brightened up when you shared the idea of magic, a magical place of your own -covered with lights, flowers and greenery.”  Arwen didn’t know how she should react to it.

Her heart just beat harder inside her chest.

She just went into his arms, letting her arms wrap around his waist and head press close to his chest.

“I don’t know, Ide, but with you, everything feels so surreal.

Why do you make me feel this way?

Make me feel like I don’t exist in the world that people complain about.

Why are you so … so nice to me?

Why did I do to deserve such kind of love from you?”  “If you ask me, I won’t have any answer to that, Moon,” he replied to her, his fingers going inside her hair, moving through her silky strands.

“I just know that from the moment you stepped into my world, I couldn’t stop loving you.

To me, this feels too less.

You deserve the best thing in this world.

And I just want to bring them all to you.”  She couldn’t say anymore.

The moment in his arms felt too cozy and she just allowed herself to enjoy it more.

CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Scarlet_Shine Dear readers, Thank you for coming this far with me.

The story is almost there to get marked as completed.

With a few more chapters to go, the book will be getting over soon.

But before that happens, I just want you all to be prepared with a review, if you could.

So, that day, the book is marked as completed, you all can post it on the book’s wall.

I want to share a few of them on my Instagram.

There is no compulsion, so don’t do it if you don’t want to.

But if you do it, it will make me happy.

Thank you.

Yours dearest Author~
