- Chapter 807 - 807 Do you want me to blame myself
807: Do you want me to blame myself?
807: Do you want me to blame myself?
Arwen stared down at Aiden’s tattooed inked name on the underside of her wrist, and a contented smile curled her lips.
“Not very long ago,” she softly replied.
“I had to do something to make sure that I don’t repeat my mistakes.” Aiden looked at her, unable to express what he was feeling inside.
Her heart was clenching for her, but at the same time, a knot of fear was relaxing inside him. “Now, do you believe that nothing could have separated us?” Arwen asked, her eyes glittering up.
Before Aiden could respond to her, she raised a finger at him to make him pause before she said, “And actually, do you know this is not just the only thing that I prepared?” His brows subtly twisted in confusion, and she smiled before shrugging casually.
“I had another resort to this as well.” “What was it?” His voice came a lot softer, contrasting as well as complementing Arwen’s excitement. Arwen didn’t answer her straight away.
She instead checked the time on her watch that she had removed from her hand.
Her gaze narrowed at the time before she slowly hinted.
“Uh ““ We need to wait for another two minutes, and you will know it.” Aiden’s gaze darted to glance at the watch.
He didn’t understand what she meant, and his brows tugged in confusion.
“Moon, you -” She turned up and pressed her finger against his lips.
“Shhh … just two minutes.” He watched her bright eyes and didn’t say anything more.
She stood pressing her finger against his lips while watching the time tick by.
And he let her. Just as the time was up, her phone rang, and she pulled it up to Aiden, gesturing for him to take it.
“Answer it.” Aiden felt more confused.
His eyes went to read the screen, but the number was flashing as unknown.
He glanced back at Arwen, and she only urged him to go ahead. In the end, he answered it by putting it on speaker.
“Hello!” “Hello, Sir.
This is Jeremy Moore,” the person spoke through the other line, his tone carrying utmost politeness.
“May I speak to Ms.
Arwen Quinn?” Aiden’s eyes turned again to Arwen, only to see her giving him another nod.
“She isn’t here right at the moment.
You can tell me what this is about, and I will pass the message to her.” “Sorry, Sir,” the man spoke through the line again.
“But I can’t disclose this to you.
I can wait in line or call in a while if that gives me the chance to talk to Ms.
Quinn.” Arwen smiled in satisfaction, and she finally spoke.
“Hello, Mr.
Moore.
This is Arwen speaking.
You can speak now.
I am listening.” “Good afternoon, Ms.
Quinn,” the man greeted softly.
“I just called you under our agreed terms.
Your thing is still kept saved in our locker.
Do you want me to send it over?” “No, Mr.
Moore,” she answered.
“It’s not required.
Thank you for calling to ask, though.
I truly appreciate it.” “That’s a job you have appointed us to, Ms.
Quinn.
Thank you for putting your trust in our services.” And with that, the call was hung up.
The conversation was vague, and Aiden hadn’t understood what it was about, so he asked, “What did you keep in the locker, Moon?” Arwen glanced up at him and slowly revealed, “I kept us there -safe and secured forever.” Aiden still didn’t understand.
And seeing his brows furrowing, Arwen reached again to cup his face. “I kept our memories secured there so that even if I forget it ever, I don’t forget you.
So that even if someone forces us apart again, I will still find you back.” She paused, letting the same smile curl her lips.
“Mr.
Moore didn’t just call me today.
He would call me every month, just to check if I needed those memories again.
As long as I tell him it’s not needed now, he will keep it safe for us and keep on calling me at the fixed intervals.” Aiden’s gaze brimmed with emotion that reflected the same in the eyes of Arwen. “Husband, you don’t carry this fear alone,” she whispered softly, letting their forehead meet and noses touch.
“I am scared of losing you more than you are scared of losing me, for I know you can find anyone like me, but … but I can’t.
You are the best, and heaven bestowed the best things only once.
If I lose you, I fear I can’t find you again.
So, I did everything that I thought I could to keep you forever with me.
This tattoo was the first thing, and later there came many ideas.” “Many?” Arwen pressed her lips and nodded to him, repeating.
“Many.” Then pulling away, she quickly said, “Don’t ask me to tell you all, because I can’t.
Although I love your smiles and laughter, it would be embarrassing to see you laugh at me.” “What if I say I won’t laugh?” he quirked his brow. And she pouted a little, looking like she was considering.
But then she shook her head, refusing.
“You would, and I know it all better.
So, don’t ask me.” Saying that, she turned away from him. Aiden reached for her arm and made her look his way again.
Lifting her face up by her chin, he slowly leaned in to press a soft kiss over her lips.
Then pulling away, he said, “You took it wrong, Moon.” Arwen didn’t understand and stared at him in confusion.
To which, he explained, “I can’t find anyone like you again.
You aren’t common, you are unique ““one of a kind that could make my heart beat and feel the world.
With you gone, even my heart would be lost.
And if I lose my heart, how would I even stay alive?
I would die-” Her hand pressed against his lips, and her brows twisted in displeasure.
“You can’t say such ominous things, Ide.
Not when you know what you mean to me.” He removed her hand from his lips and pressed another kiss on it.
“I am just telling you the truth, Moon.
It’s up to you to believe it or not.” “Fine, I believe it,” she said with a sigh.
“I believe every word you say.
I have never doubted it -not even for once.
So, can you believe one thing for me?” He stared at her, and taking a moment, she took his hand and placed it over her stomach.
“I know pregnancy wouldn’t be easy for either of us.
More than me, you would be getting anxious.
But I trust you.
I trust that you will handle both me and this entire period of nine months.
So can you trust my trust and believe in yourself?” “Moon-” “We will be fine, husband,” she said again.
“We will be fine as long as we are together.
So, I just want you to be with me, entirely, and the rest of everything would be taken care of.” “You trust me so much, even after seeing that I couldn’t protect you when I should have?” Arwen shook her head desperately.
“That’s where you are wrong, husband.
Since the day we met, you have protected me in every situation.
Even though the kidnappers were able to kidnap me and take me away, you appeared before they could harm me.
How can I not trust you?
I trust you more than anything and anyone in this entire world.
It has been like this from day one, and I have realized it from the very beginning.” Aiden stared at her, and the confidence in her gaze erased all the doubts he held in his heart.
Looking at her, he slowly nodded. She smiled, seeing him finally ease.
Leaning in, she wrapped her arms around him and embraced him close.
Staying there for a moment, she finally said, “Now that this is discussed, I guess it’s time you withdraw the notice and complaint against Dr.
Clark’s hospital.” Aiden pulled away and frowned.
And seeing his brows tug like that, Arwen quickly said, “He doesn’t deserve it.
Not when I was the one to request it.
Do you want me to blame myself?” Aiden’s expression eased, and she smiled, knowing that he agreed. —– Meanwhile, on the other side of the city – Zenith was working in the office when she checked the time on her watch.
Michael noticed it and asked, “You are leaving early today, Secretary Zane?” Zenith glanced his way and nodded, “Yes,” she said before adding, “I could have gone yesterday.
So, it’s only good if I go today.
Otherwise, it won’t look good.” Michael was about to nod, but from the corner of his eyes he saw Ryan appear, and he at once stood up to greet him.
“Sir!” Zenith also turned to look, only to see Ryan staring her way.
His gaze looked very different, very unlike usual.
She also stood up to ask, “Sir, is there anything you need?”
