805: Court notice!

805: Court notice!

Arwen was equally confused when she heard Aiden say that.

Her lips curled up slightly in an awkward smile towards the lady doctor before she turned to Aiden.  “Ide, what are you saying?

Pregnancy has been like this since always,” she whispered slowly.

Her voice laced with a sheen of embarrassment.

“Women have always gone through these experiences to become mothers.

And they all have survived.

You don’t have to make it look like I am the first woman who has gotten pregnant.”  Aiden frowned.

He turned to stare at her and spoke with a furrow between his brows.

“I don’t care what every woman has gone through.

I only care about what you will be going through.

Rest doesn’t matter to me, Moon.

But you do. You matter the most to me, and there is no way I am letting you go through so much alone.”  Arwen’s breath hitched.

The awkwardness and the embarrassment that she had felt earlier melted the moment she realized the pure anxiousness in his gaze.

The anxiousness that carried nothing but the most genuine and sincere concern for her.  He was worried about her.

Worried about the discomfort that was yet to begin in her life.  The more she looked into his warm eyes, the more she felt melting in them.

Her hand moved on instinct as she reached to cup one side of his face with a reassuring smile.

“I will be fine, Ide.

You don’t have to get anxious over it.

It’s normal, and with you around, it wouldn’t be as uncomfortable as it sounds.

Isn’t it, doctor?”  Arwen turned to look at the lady sitting across from them.  The doctor quickly nodded back to her.

She glanced at Aiden and said, “Your wife is right, Mr.

Winslow.”  Aiden turned to look her way.

His brows still tugged together, showing his lingering worry.  “You can’t share those little changes she will be undergoing, but your presence by her side would be helpful.

She will need emotional support.

She will be irritable, tired and vulnerable at times -but if you are there for her during all those situations -patient and caring to cater to all her moods -that will be enough.

And trust me, that’s all she will really need.

Rest, good nutrition, regular checkups, and peace of mind will take care of the rest.”  “Trust the doctor, husband,” Arwen whispered from the side.

Her hand pressed over his in reassurance.

“With you around, I will be just fine.

I am sure the nine months will pass before we even realize it.”  When Aiden turned to look her way, she let her eyes convey the confidence she held in him.

And when she finally sees his mood lighten a little, she joked playfully.

“Now, come on, don’t disregard our baby.

He would be upset if he felt like you cared for me more than him.”  “Accepting the truth would be something he would have to learn, Moon,” he replied without thinking for another second.

“The sooner he does that; it would be better.”  She couldn’t help but be speechless at that.  The doctor couldn’t help but smile at their little exchange.

She had seen a lot of couples -some together out of reasons, while a few together out of love, but she must say this was the first time seeing a couple so adorable.

Their bond feels a lot beyond simple love.  “It’s our baby, husband,” Arwen repeated, pursing her lips.

“You can say something so brutal to him.”  “It’s not brutal, Moon.

It’s just real.” Aiden said, his tone very serious.

“He would be our baby, so undoubtedly, he would be previous to me.

But you still would be the treasure that I wouldn’t forsake for anyone.

And he would have to accept it.”  Arwen couldn’t reason more with him anymore.

Not when his words were just making her feel like she was the most important person in his world.

The feeling was too tempting to be ignored.

And the more he was feeling it, the more she was feeling addicted to it.  After a beat of moment, the doctor added lightly.

“If Mr.

Winslow continues looking at you the way he is doing right now, I would say you are in safe hands, Mrs.

Winslow.

You are lucky.”  Arwen stared at the gem of the man she had by her side and couldn’t help but smile.

“I think so too,” she murmured softly.  Right at that moment, the door of the cabin was pushed open with an urgency -one that was unexpected.  The lady doctor looked up, taken by surprise.

Even Arwen turned to see -only to find Jason standing at the door with brows furrowed deeply.  Something in his expression didn’t look right, and Arwen could sense it the very moment she saw him.

He looked very different from his usual self -like frustrated with something.

She noticed his line of sight only to realize his gaze was fixed on … Aiden.  She turned to look at Aiden, only to find him sitting nonchalantly.

He hadn’t even turned to look towards the door -not even for once.  “Did you do something?” she asked, feeling there was something that was there, but she couldn’t really tell.  Aiden didn’t respond.

He just adjusted his cufflinks while sitting in the chair, unmoved.  “Husband, you -”  “Aiden Winslow,” Jason’s voice cut in, interrupting Arwen’s before he charged inside.

“Will you explain what the meaning of this is?” He slapped a notice on the desk with a loud smack.  The lady doctor flinched for a second, and so did Arwen, but Aiden still sat there, unfretted.  “The content is written in English,” Aiden slowly said, continuing, “the language that’s not unknown to you.

I don’t think it would have been that difficult to understand.”  Jason’s jaws tightened.

He knew Aiden could get worse on his nerves if he decided to, but he never expected it like this.

He simply couldn’t keep his calm right now.  “But if you still haven’t understood anything in it, you can always reach for my attorney,” Aiden added, and just as he did, Jacob stepped inside the room -casually, his hand leisurely tucked inside his dress pants’ pockets.

“Yes, I am here,” Jason announced.

“What do you need me to explain?

It’s my job and I would be more than happy to do it.” Arwen turned to glance at him with the same confusion; however, Jacob simply shrugged at her with a smile, silently asking her to relax.

Jacob felt more aggravated.

His fingers clenched into fists as he sent a glare at Jacob before turning to Aiden.

“Of course, everything is written in English and I know well how to read and understand it.

But that’s not what I am asking you here.

I am asking you what you mean by sending this court notice to me?”  Court notice!

Arwen’s brows furrowed more when she heard that.

“Court notice?” she muttered slowly, and Jason nodded, confirming.

“Yes, the court notice,” he said, his voice carrying the exact frustration he was feeling inside.

“Aiden is suing my hospital, so he sent me a court notice for it.

So, I want to know if he really intends to do that?” His gaze darted back at his friend.  And this time, Aiden stared at him.

His gaze was cold and sharp.

Looking up at him, he simply said, “I have all the reasons to sue your hospital.

So, why shouldn’t I?”  Jason’s expression became incredulous.

His face twisted, and he turned and pointed at Arwen, saying, “Because she is fine.

And what I did was not dangerous at all.

I have myself checked her reports thoroughly, and if there had been anything … even the slightest wrong in her conditions, I would have hidden the news from you.

How could you keep that against me?”  “I can, and I will,” Aiden replied, standing up to match his height.  Arwen couldn’t get more confused than she already was.

She couldn’t understand what exactly was going on.

But from their exchange, she understood one thing that it was something about her.  Her gaze darted to look at the paper that Jason had brought with him.

She reached to take it in her hand.

And reading it, she realized what had actually happened.  Glancing at Aiden, she frowned and said, “You are suing the hospital because you weren’t informed about my pregnancy?” She couldn’t be rendered more speechless.

How was this man so childish?  Had he always been like this?

Or has he only become like this now?

Because prior to today, she never saw him acting this way.

Aiden didn’t answer her.

He just gave a brief glance her way before turning to Jason to say, “It was the hospital’s responsibility to keep me informed.

But since you guys deliberately hid it, shouldn’t I sue you for it?”  Jason opened his mouth to speak, but he couldn’t give any reasons.

He knew he should have informed him, but during that situation, he wasn’t very sure of how Aiden would react.

So, he kept the news from himself and waited for Arwen to wake up.  And later, Arwen didn’t let him reveal it.

And he also felt it would be alright.

But how did he forget that Aiden wouldn’t be taking it so simply -not when it was about Arwen.  “Ide,” Arwen held Aiden’s hand and slowly said, “I stopped Dr.

Clark from telling you.”  Jason took a deep breath and nodded, saying, “Brother, Arwen is fine.

It’s just a pregnancy, not a disease that should be notified as early as possible.

Furthermore, she wanted to tell you about it herself.”
