Chapter 267: Crafting spell mid-fight
“Did you feel that?”

Lucas asked as he retreated from the battle and came beside Femi.

“The space element, what element does Mr Chen have?” Femi asked with a serious expression.

Previously, they had seen black stars that were different from those of the shadow element and felt the pressure of the lightning element. It was obvious that the source had been Mr Chen who was facing the spider Generals.

But not long ago, a new, powerful aura appeared, and then they began to sense the presence of the space element.

The casting speed of the space spells was just as fast as when Mr Chen cast his lightning element!

“From what I gathered, Mr Chen is a lightning mage. Could it be that another Saint rank mage that we aren’t aware of has arrived on the battlefield?” Lucas guessed.

Femi didn’t reply immediately as he watched the fight between the mages and the army of spiders.

“Or could it be that Mr Chen has both elements?” Lucas stated after a moment of thinking. He also thought that his thought was wild as a mage couldn’t possess two elements.

But was it really impossible? There just hasn’t been any case of such a thing happening before.

After staying silent for some time, Femi finally spoke up.

“Let’s take care of things here quickly and head over, Mr Chen might be in a difficult spot.”

Lucas stared at him with a speechless face, did this man not hear what he just said about Mr Chen having two elements?

The other Saint mages were also listening to this discussion but didn’t make any comments.

Over at Alex’s location.

‘Blink!’

Stars appeared rapidly and seemed to have already formed into Star constellations as Alex disappeared into light particles almost instantly and appeared at a different location.

The space sword in his hand suddenly disappeared and arrived in front of the spider lord, stabbing at the other party’s face.

Despite how sudden the space sword had appeared, the spider lord was still able to react. He tilted his head to the side and allowed the sword to fly past, before moving his body to the side and dodging a downward slash after Alex controlled the sword with his mind.

Swoosh!!

After dodging, the spider lord disappeared and left an afterimage behind as he rushed toward Alex at a speed that Alex could barely follow.

He didn’t hesitate to blink away and appeared beside his sword.

Grabbing the space sword, Alex slashed out.

Half of the sword directly shattered into countless fragments that floated in the air in front of him before shooting through the rain of snow and heading for the spider lord.

With the low visibility caused by the falling snow and cold wind, the tiny sword fragments were difficult to see as they shuttled through space soundlessly.

But the spider lord just wasn’t going to stand there and let himself get attacked. With his third eye still open, his white eyeball rolled around at an insanely fast speed as if tracking the location of each sword fragment inside the rain of snow.

The next second, he sent out several air blast attacks, knocking away several sword fragments before moving away from his position, the rest of the sword fragments chased after him.

The spider lord constantly sent out attacks, knocking away the sword fragments as he flashed through the snow. He tried approaching Alex but the sword fragments that he had knocked away earlier would quickly appear in front of him and attack him.

For a moment, the spider lord had no choice but to keep running and knocking away the sword fragments because no matter how many times he knocked them away, he just couldn’t destroy them and Alex would just control them to keep chasing after him.

Some of the sword fragments had managed to make contact with his body, instantly cutting through his white robe and drawing blood that quickly froze after being exposed to the cold temperature of the eternal snowland for a split second.

‘These tiny sword pieces can hurt me?’

The spider lord was surprised to see that he had been injured by the sword fragments. Realising that they were actually dangerous, he made sure not to allow another one to touch him.

The spider lord on the run, Alex was finally able to stop blinking around but he knew that this couldn’t go on for long because they had simply reversed roles.

The spider lord was fast, and the sword fragments had no chance of catching up, no matter how Alex controlled them.

He needed to do something about the other party’s speed!

While the sword fragments continued to chase the spider lord, Alex quickly formed two star constellations of the space element.

‘Telekinesis,’ he thought and tried to focus his gaze on the spider lord, hoping to be able to trap the other party for even one second.

But…the spider lord was just too fast for Alex to barely see his figure; it would be impossible to trap such a creature with telekinesis.

He needed to do something about the other party’s speed, and he needed to be fast about it!

Left without any other choice, Alex activated his skill.

Alex quickly rushed through the options of the skill and gave the description of the spell he wanted. He realised that while he had powerful movement abilities and damage spells, he didn’t have any powerful restriction spells.

He needed to create one for opponents just like the spider lord!

“These things are becoming annoying!” The voice of the spider lord rang through the air, clear irritation could be felt from his words as the sword fragments kept chasing after him.

But he had no other option but to dodge for now as he couldn’t afford to get hit by one of these fragments.

Meanwhile, Alex finished giving the system the description of the spell that he wanted to craft; he had picked the lightning element as his choice.

After a few seconds, the system provided different spell options that matched what Alex wanted.

Alex directly picked the first choice despite it having the highest price craft.

Alex shouted inwardly and instantly gave permission for the system to start crafting.

The amount of exp for the spell was instantly deducted from his balance and Alex’s exp almost dropped to zero, but this didn’t upset him at all.

He was instead more worried about how long it would take for the system to be ready.

The system didn’t have a fixed time frame for crafting spells. A Core rank spell might take hours, while an Archmage rank spell could finish crafting in a few seconds; this actually made Alex a bit nervous.

What if this spell took hours to craft? Would he have to keep fighting the spider lord till then?
