Chapter 266: Third eye. System invasion attempt!
Alex’s eyes narrowed while he was still in his lightning form, he couldn’t sense any anger from the spider lord.

Those eyes were eerily expressionless, and his tone was calm. Wasn’t he angry that Alex had killed most of his spider Generals, injured the few left, and his army was currently being wiped out by the rest of the mages who had come for this operation?

At this moment, Alex noticed the side of the spider lord’s lips move into a one-sided smile.

“You must be wondering why I don’t seem angry by what you and the rest of the humans have done to my forces. Well, it doesn’t really matter since I’ll be killing you all before destroying your continents, right?”

The spider lord said with a hint of amusement in his voice, as if everything was just an honest joke.

Alex didn’t reply and suddenly used Void Walk. He vanished and appeared beside the spider lord, his right fist already flying out and aimed at the side of the other party’s head.

“Ah, that strange ability of yours. It’s surprising that even I can’t sense you when you move.” The voice of the spider lord echoed through the air.

Alex’s eyes widened, and he realised that the spider lord had disappeared from his previous position.

His punch missed and violent black lightning shot out from his fist and flew into the distance before exploding on the snow.

‘What the…when did he move?’ Alex asked in shock after missing. He didn’t hesitate to use Void Walk again and move to a different position.

The moment he entered the white space.

Another air blast attack created another hundred meters long clear space in the sky, devoid of snow or any other substance.

It was the same attack as earlier!

Alex appeared dozens of meters away and looked at the clear space, the spider lord had reappeared beside him and sent out that attack; good thing he had moved on time.

“You survived again? You’re really strange. My ability has always made me the worst opponent of elemental spirits. How come you keep surviving?

Must be your strange moving ability, I wonder how fast it is.” The spider lord mumbled and disappeared again, Alex was only able to see an afterimage this time.

‘Void Walk!’

He didn’t hesitate and jumped into the white space of the system’s skill.

Another air blast attack occurred at his previous location while Alex appeared at another spot.

‘This creature is faster than me, and that attack can actually hurt me in this form.’ Alex thought to himself after coming to the realisation that the words of the spider lord weren’t false.

Elemental spirits were mostly immune to physical attacks, as they didn’t really have a physical body. Alex was just like an elemental spirit while using Lightning Heart.

But the attack of the spider lord felt like the combination of telekinesis and air blast of the wind element, Alex could actually feel danger from it.

If hit once, the damage would be devastating if he remained in this form.

So after coming out of the white space, Alex instantly ended lightning heart and returned to his physical form.

The spider lord saw this and raised an eyebrow.

“Going back to your physical form might reduce the damage from my attack, but it doesn’t mean I won’t kill you though. There really isn’t much difference.” He muttered casually before disappearing.

For the next two minutes, Alex and the spider lord engaged in a dangerous game of tag while causing great devastation to their surroundings; the injured spider Generals were even implicated and more than half of the ones who had survived Alex died from the shockwave of their lord’s attacks.

Alex couldn’t afford to waste time and constantly kept using Void Walk, the spider lord kept chasing after him and dealing out the same attacks.

He was several times faster than this human but because of this human’s strange movement ability, he wasn’t able to land a successful hit.

After two minutes of chasing after Alex, the spider lord stopped and stood in the air. The falling snow avoided him for some reason, not daring to land on his robe.

Alex also stopped using Void Walk and appeared two hundred meters away from the spider lord, he stood on the snow and gazed at the other party.

The all-knowing mask covered his expression, but Alex was actually sweating under his mask; the cold of the eternal snowland suddenly felt nonexistent.

This was actually the first time he had felt so pressured, even the Void knight that he faced the last time wasn’t this fast!

The spider lord just wasn’t giving him the chance to attack back, and even if he did manage to attack, the other party would easily dodge it.

“Human, how are you able to move so fast despite being obviously slower?” The spider lord asked while staring down at Alex.

Alex obviously didn’t respond, he was thinking of something else.

“You don’t want to talk? No problem, I’ll just take a look for myself.” The spider lord voiced out before the third eye on his forehead suddenly opened and a pure white eyeball locked on Alex.

Bold red lines of warning appeared in front of Alex’s eyes from the system after the third eye of the spider lord stared at him.

‘Tf, this spider is strong enough to affect the system?’ Alex screamed internally, slightly frightened.

Thankfully, the system was broken so the invasion was unsuccessful.

The spider lord was equally shocked and was unable to stop the expression from showing on his face.

“I can’t see through you, your abilities are not of this world.” He voiced out after calming down.

“What bullshit are you talking about?” Alex spat out as his eyes lit up with silver white light and thousands of stars appeared above him.

‘Space sword,’ Alex silently cast his second Saint rank spell and in less than a second, the space sword appeared in front of him, floating just at his shoulder level.

A hint of surprise appeared on the face of the spider lord yet again.

“Casting a Saint rank spell within a second, you truly are strange. But most importantly, you have two elements.” He said.

“I don’t have two elements, this is a spell book,” Alex replied right away.

Spider lord “…”

‘How can you be so shameless, do you take me for an idiot?’

“Doesn’t matter if you don’t want to admit it, I’ll make sure you don’t leave here alive.” the spider lord mumbled before disappearing again.

Alex didn’t use Void Walk this time and summoned silver white stars instead.

‘Blink!’

Alex cast the spell in less than a second and disappeared into silver white particles before the spider lord reached him and attacked.

Boom!!

After the attack of the spider lord, Alex reappeared in front of the spider lord and slashed out with the space sword.

Swoosh!

A long white light shot out from the space sword, causing space itself to distort while the sky and the ground were cut in two.

Boom!!

An even louder explosion rang out as Alex created a larger canyon that was several times deeper and longer than when he first tested out the space sword.

The canyon stretched for thousands of kilometres and swallowed all of the snow in the area, and a clear sword line marked the sky as if clouds were split.

But once again, the spider lord had dodged the attack.

“That was dangerous,” the spider lord said, clear shock in his eyes as he stared at the devastation caused by the space sword.

Alex wasn’t too surprised as he had expected the other party to dodge.

“Just dangerous, is that why you haven’t transformed into your true form?” Alex asked.

“This is my true form,” the spider lord responded, shifting his attention back to Alex.

Alex “…”

How can this be a spider’s true form?!
