Chapter 257: Eternal snowland.
Cold!

Even for someone like Alex who was at the Saint rank and had the protection of the indestructible robe, he could feel the coldness of this place.

‘No wonder the strength limit for this operation was at the Grand Archmage rank, anyone weaker would instantly freeze to death.’ Alex thought to himself as he looked around.

After Maria activated the teleportation formation, they appeared in this place. For as far as Alex could see, everywhere and everything was covered in thick snow and chilling wind blew past like a constant blizzard as snow kept falling from the sky.

The two Sage rank mages with them had already summoned the magic items that were in the form of robes to help them resist the cold, while Alex and Maria were still fine. They were currently on top of what seemed to be a mountain that had been buried in snow, and Alex could sense several people in the distance ahead of them, but he couldn’t see them because there were even taller mountains that had been covered in snow ahead of them.

“Mr Chen, this is the eternal snowland that’s located between our continent and the 3rd continent. I don’t know if you’re aware already, but it snows all year round, and there is no sunlight; that’s the reason the entire region is buried in snow.

This place is relatively far from the location of the three-eyed spider lord, which was why it was picked as the sport for the teleportation point. We’ll meet up with the others ahead.” Maria explained.

‘So we’re out of the continent right now?’ Alex was slightly stunned, wondering how far they had travelled with that single teleportation formation.

After Maria finished with her explanation, she turned to one of the elders and nodded.

The man nodded back before spreading his arm and letting mana flow out of his body. The next moment, white stars began to appear one after the other.

Twenty seconds later, the man finished forming twenty star constellations before joining them into one. Single star nebula.

‘So slow,’ Alex thought to himself as he watched.

After forming the star nebula, a powerful burst of mana shot out from the nebula and enveloped the man. The mana wrapped him up in the form of a cocoon and then lifted him into the air.

Alex raised an eyebrow, wondering what spell the other party was trying to cast.

They all watched as the mana cocoon grew larger and larger before finally exploding, sending shockwaves in all directions and sweeping up a lot of snow.

Back in the air, what was left in the place of the elder was a large winged beast covered in white fur.

Alex “…”

Where did the elder go?

The winged beast landed on the ground and opened its large beak.

“I’m ready,” it said.

Alex “…”

‘The summoning element can do that?!’ Alex was shocked; he thought that the man had summoned one of his beasts. He didn’t expect the other party to transform into a beast instead!

He had to be careful which beast he killed later.

“Come, let’s go.” Maria’s voice woke Alex from his shock.

He saw that Maira and the other elder had already gotten on the back of the winged beast that the elder had transformed into.

He silently jumped and landed beside them. After getting on, the elder spread his wings and shot into the air, flying above the snow-covered mountains and piercing through the falling snow that seemed to be getting stronger.

After three hours of flying at full speed and crossing thousands of kilometres, they finally arrived at the camp where the others were currently residing.

The elder slowly drifted down, and everyone got off his back before cancelling the transformation.

A group of people approached them after they landed.

Before they could say anything, Maria introduced themselves as members of the Union Core Centre from the 6th continent.

Amongst the people who came to them, one of them was at the Elder mage rank. A man with an arrogant face and long white hair, he wore a magic item that was in the form of a golden armour.

Seeing him reminded Alex of those Chinese protagonists, especially since the other party had long white hair.

“From the sixth continent? The operation started weeks ago, why are you only arriving now?” The man questioned.

Maria’s eyes narrowed and she released her aura of a Sorcerer rank mage.

“We were waiting for someone, do you have a problem with that?” She asked, her tone as cold as the passing wind.

The other party was weaker than her, what gave him the courage to question her like that?

The face of the white haired man twisted upon sensing Maria’s aura, she wasn’t someone he could mess with easily. His eyes turned to Alex instead.

“Why is he covering his face?” He asked.

Maria’s lips twitched, she wanted to slap this man.

“He’s a Saint, are you sure you want to interrogate him?” She snickered.

The white haired man was startled to hear this.

“Ahem, the camp of those from the 6th continent is that way, I have other things to attend to.” He cleared his throat and said before leaving with his group.

After he left, Maria asked Alex and the other two to follow her as she headed in the direction that the other party had pointed.

“Who was that?” Alex asked as they walked.

“Judging from his dressing, he’s most likely from the 3rd continent. Those idiots act so arrogantly towards anyone below them.” Maria said, dissatisfaction evident in her words.

“Why is that?” Alex asked further.

Maria looked at him strangely, as if he had just asked a question with an obvious answer.

“Because they are in third place obviously, with only the first continent and second continent above them.” She said.

Alex grew even more confused. Were the names of the continents related to rankings? What was the way of ranking them then?

He still had more questions to ask, but decided to stay silent; he would ask Ellie after going back.

They came across lots of other mages on their way to the camp for those from their continents. Everyone they came across was at the Grand Archmage rank and above. Alex had even sensed the aura of seven Saint-ranked mages in this place.

The force gathered here was undoubtedly a powerful one, but why haven’t they taken care of the calamity-ranked beast and its soldiers even after spending several weeks here?

Surely can’t be that seven Saint rank mages can’t handle a single Calamity rank magic beast, right?

He would find out later.

After walking for several minutes, the four of them finally arrived at the camp.

Maria approached a man who was at the Sorcerer mage rank like her and introduced herself, after which she asked for the Union President of their continent.

The Union President was the highest rank of the Union, and there was only one in each continent, as each continent only had one Union HQ.

“The Union President couldn’t make it because of a crack he was dealing with, but the vice President is here, tho, you can go to him for a briefing.” The man explained.

“I see, thanks,” Maria said before leaving with Alex and the other two to go look for the Vice President.

They arrived in front of a tent after some time.

“Maria, Chief of the Union Core Centre from Mash country!” Maria voiced out from outside.
