Chapter 255: Date with Ellie.
The sky grew darker as the evening deepened, a cool breeze swept through the streets of Brandvel City, and its residents prepared for the nightlife, while some day workers returned home after a busy day at work.

In front of a large, beautiful gate stood a young, beautiful lady in a pretty evening dress that matched her green eyes. The dress did an excellent job of outlining her body shape, yet anyone who saw her would be awed by her gracefulness instead of sexualising her.

This lady was none other than Ellie, who was waiting for Alex outside her home. A faint blush could be seen on her pretty face as she stared at her hands that were holding onto a small purse.

She was slightly nervous!

She didn’t think much of it previously but after standing outside for just a few seconds, the thoughts started to hit her.

How did she look? Was she too dressed or was her outfit not good enough? Would Alex like the style of her hair? Should she apply makeup? Why was she even thinking like this?!

Her mind was in chaos as these random thoughts jumped around.

At this moment, a cab came to a stop in front of her and the door on the other side opened. A red-haired youth in a white shirt stepped out of the car, and the gentle breeze swept by and caused his hair and collar to flutter gently.

She didn’t know why, but her heart suddenly skipped a beat, and the blush on her cheeks deepened. She couldn’t stop staring at Alex.

Similarly, Alex was stunned by the sight of his instructor. A single word appeared in his mind.

‘Gorgeous!’

It took him a while to come back to his senses and walk over to Ellie.

“You look beautiful, shall we?” He offered a soft smile as he complimented her.

Ellie blushed slightly after hearing Alex’s compliment.

“Thanks, you look good too.” She said as she walked toward him.

Alex opened the door for her and Ellie went in. Alex closed the door before going to enter through the other side.

“Let’s go, the Golden Star house,” Alex said to the cab driver after entering the car.

“Right away,” the driver, an elderly looking man, responded as the car slowly moved into the road.

The driver glanced at Alex and Ellie through the rear-view mirror, and a small smile formed on his face.

‘Young love,’ he thought to himself as he focused on driving these two to their destination.

During the ride, Ellie couldn’t understand why she was suddenly feeling shy. A strange sensation was rushing through her body and she couldn’t bring herself to make eye contact with Alex.

Noticing this, Alex decided to initiate a conversation. He wanted to make Ellie talk about how she has been and how she had spent her week.

But Ellie was too shy to have a proper conversation, so it ended up looking like an interrogation instead. Alex would ask a question, and Ellie would answer.

The driver was quietly enjoying the show, and a smile was constantly plastered on his face.

Some time later, the car arrived at their location and the two came out.

After paying the cab driver and about to leave, Alex was called back.

“Oi, lad!” The driver called out and turned around with a raised eyebrow.

“Good luck!” The driver gave a thumbs-up with a big smirk on his face.

Alex was stunned for a moment but smirked the next moment.

“Thanks,” he said before going up to meet Ellie.

The Golden Star house was a multi-storey building with a lot of purposes; it was one of the biggest buildings in this part of the city as well.

Within the building were restaurants, movie rooms, massage rooms, bars, and many other facilities; it was also a hotel.

A lot of wealthy people in Brandvel City usually come here to chill and relax or just to waste their money.

Alex and Ellie got a table on one of the high floors, their table was close to the glass window, which allowed them to see the beautiful view of the city. They ordered some desserts and drinks which were quickly brought over by the workers.

Ellie was still feeling shy, and she kept staring outside through the window even when their orders arrived.

“Care for a drink, instructor Ellie?” Alex asked in a soft tone, purposely teasing Ellie by calling her instructor Ellie.

Ellie flinched slightly.

“Why are you calling me an instructor all of a sudden? Didn’t we agree to address each other by our names when we’re outside?” Ellie stated without looking at Alex.

Alex chuckled silently. Since their age gap wasn’t much, they agreed to address each other by their names whenever they were outside the university, this was a form of closeness between the two.

But Alex couldn’t help teasing her right now, she looked very cute with that look on her face.

“And you aren’t old enough to be drinking yet,” Ellie added after a moment.

“What do you mean? I’m an adult already and besides, I won’t get drunk from this as a Core rank mage.” Alex smiled, circularly moving his wine glass.

“Whatever, you aren’t drinking tonight!” Ellie stated, trying to be serious.

“Hehehe,”

Two hours passed swiftly. Alex and Ellie enjoyed their dessert and wine while chatting about random things during these times.

At one point, Alex presented the necklace that he had brought for Ellie to her. It was the golden necklace with a red gemstone and had a cooling effect.

Ellie was surprised by this. The necklace was beautiful, and she liked it.

Alex offered to help her put it around her neck and she agreed.

After that, Ellie revealed that she had also gotten something for Alex for coming in first place.

It was a space elemental essence stone.

Alex was stunned by the sight of the space elemental essence stone. He didn’t think that the space element would have one, considering how it didn’t have a physical form.

Ellie explained that after he absorbed it, his space element would grow stronger, as well as his mental strength.

This would help him become better at enduring mind attacks.

Alex was very grateful as he accepted the essence stone, he now felt that the necklace he gave Ellie wasn’t of any value.

Ellie seemed to have seen through his thoughts and giggled before saying that she really liked the necklace because it was pretty, she didn’t expect Alex to get her anything anyway.

They spent a few more minutes at the Golden Star house before leaving. They decided to walk and enjoy the nightlife a bit instead of taking a cab.

After walking for who knows how long, they arrived at Ellie’s place.

Ellie stood in front of the gate and faced Alex.

“Thanks for today, I really enjoyed it. Now make sure you come to class on Monday.” She said, making a stern face.

“I enjoyed it too, thanks. And I’ll definitely come to class now that I’m back.” Alex chuckled and said.

“Good. Now, good night, Alex.” Ellie smiled before proceeding to open the gates.

“Wait,” Alex suddenly called out.

Ellie’s steps paused and she turned to look at Alex, her expression asking if something was wrong.

Alex took a deep breath as he prepared to ask what he really had in mind.

“Ellie…I like you, would you be my girlfriend?” Alex asked with a serious face.

Ellie “…”

She was shocked, her face turned a deep shade of red and she wasn’t able to reply for a few seconds.

This wasn’t the first time that she was being proposed to but hearing it from Alex still made her flustered.

After calming herself, Ellie slowly said with a sweet smile on her face.

“I’ll consider it when you reach the Master mage rank.” After saying that, she passed through the gates and closed them.

Alex “…”
