Chapter 252: Mr Chen’s first class.
Somehow in Brandvel City.
A middle-aged-looking man sat in front of a desk inside a shabby-looking shop and was tinkering with a device in his hands. In front of him stood two figures in exquisite outfits; their backgrounds were definitely not ordinary.
“The imprints of Hell fairy, Star, and Dark cage have been reported to have disappeared, what do we do?” One of the two figures in exquisite clothes reported. He was a young man with handsome appearances and released the aura of a Master rank mage.
The middle-aged man didn’t stop tinkering with the device in his hands and responded.
“Four red robes in a span of seven months, even killing three at the same time, this Mr Chen truly isn’t simple. We’ll leave this to the saints, they’ll decide how to deal with Mr Chen from now on.”
“Understood,” the two figures answered at the same time.
“Continue with the usual preparation while the convention approaches. If you’re hard-working enough, you could see the bishop and receive enlightenment.” The middle-aged man stated again.
The eyes of the two figures flickered upon hearing about the convention and the opportunity to meet the bishop. The bishop was the highest-ranking figure in the Dark Union and was an illusory figure; not even all of the saints had met him or her, and their true appearance remains a mystery.
It is popularly known amongst members of the Dark Union that the bishop is the direct descendant of the God of death, which the Dark Union is dedicated to; meeting the bishop was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
As for the convention, it was the biggest gathering of the Dark Union where all members from all seven continents would gather together to worship the God of death and receive his blessings; it was very likely for the bishop to make an appearance at the convention.
“We understand, we’ll work hard to earn merit!” The two of them said with deep sincerity.
“Here, that will cost you 200 Zen.” The middle-aged man handed over the device to them and requested his payment.
After giving him the cash, both figures stood up and left like two regular customers.
Arriving outside the shabby shop, they conversed for a few seconds before departing in separate directions.
The handsome man who had received the device had barely gone a few hundred meters away from the shop’s location when a few people appeared around him.
“Greetings, Lord Moon.” The five people who had appeared around the handsome man chorused.
The handsome man didn’t react and continued to walk.
“Any reports from the Magic University?” He whispered while walking.
“A few talented candidates have been spotted, and amongst them is a young boy without any background. He’s from a remote City far away and only managed to enter the Magic University thanks to a recommendation letter.” One of the five people reported.
“Is that so, who’s this candidate and which city is he from?” The handsome asked while still walking.
“His name is Alex Zoran, a Core rank mage from Balon City. We have investigated and his family are ordinary shop owners with no external relatives or relationships with any strong mage.”
“A Core mage? You think a Core mage is worth my time?” The handsome man finally stopped walking and glared at the person who had been reporting to him, his eyes flashed with killing intent that scared the other party.
“W-wait, lord Moon, I’m not done yet. He’s only a Core mage but he’s very talented and has the rare space element. Plus, he managed to come in first place during the Magic University’s three-month assessment; he was able to enter the university’s vault!” The figure hurriedly explained.
The handsome man known as lord Moon paused, his eyes narrowing.
“Hmm, in that case. I’ll leave bringing him into the Dark Union to you, maybe he can be of some use.”
‘And help me gather merit for the Dark Union,’
Lord Moon thought to himself with a dark grin on his face.
“As you wish!” The figure bowed before disappearing into a corner.
After the figure left, lord Moon continued to listen to reports from the other four when he suddenly remembered something.
“Wasn’t Balon City the place where Lord Eternal Youth died?”
……
Meanwhile, Alex spent the rest of the day thinking of what he was supposed to teach the students tomorrow while farming exp points.
With his reputation, he already knew that many of the students who would attend his class tomorrow were going to be upperclassmen.
What was he supposed to teach when he barely knew anything?
Or should he really just share some of his experience while farming exp with them? Of course, he would cut out the part concerning the system and why he was killing so many magic beasts.
Alex farmed exp points till the very next morning but still hadn’t decided on what he was going to teach.
A few hours later, he found himself heading for Brandvel Magic University and still hadn’t decided on what he was supposed to teach.
‘I hope I don’t end up embarrassing myself.’ Alex sighed inwardly as he used Void walk to appear in front of Julius who was rushing through the hallway of the lecture building used only by year five students.
“Ah, Mr Chen, you’ve come,” Julius exclaimed with surprise at Mr Chen suddenly appearing in front of him.
“Yes, I have arrived,” Alex said.
“Have you decided on what you’re going to teach? Come, let me show you to the hall that you’ll be using, the students will come soon.” Julius said earnestly before guiding Alex to a very spacious hall that could easily fit hundreds of people, it was even bigger than the orientation hall located in the lecture building for first-year students.
After bringing Alex to the hall, Julius left to inform the students.
Less than twenty minutes later.
Alex “…”
‘Why the hell are there so many people here?!’ he screamed internally and his face was covered in genuine shock. Thankfully, his mask prevented anyone from seeing how shocked he was.
He had really underestimated his reputation. Just a few minutes after Julius left to inform the students that his class would be starting, the hall was quickly filled up and not a single seat was left. What stunned Alex even more was that it wasn’t just students who had come for the class, even other instructors were present too.
This included Julius, Ellie, and instructors who taught first-year students.
They all believed that they would be able to gain something from listening to the teaching of an expert like Mr Chen.
This really gave Alex a headache, he was now wondering if he would be able to leave this hall without embarrassing himself.
Heck, he could even feel Vice Dean Hannah’s presence from outside the hall.
What was he supposed to teach that these people wouldn’t catch on immediately that he was a fraud?!
The hall fell into loud silence as everyone waited for Mr Chen to start his lecture, they were all eager to learn from this mysterious expert whom their family elders used to talk about.
After thinking hard, Alex got an idea of how he could save himself.
“Since this is my first lecture, I’ll let it be an interactive session. A lot of you must be curious about me, I’ll let you all ask one question each and depending on what you ask, I promise to answer.”
