Chapter 250: Back to Brandvel
Mia, Simon, and other members of the Rising Wave group came to visit Alex at the shop after Mia got news from Freda that Alex had come by.

They spent some time at the shop, mostly asking Alex how his experience at the capital was and if anyone was giving him any trouble.

They were genuinely concerned and this touched Alex. He responded truthfully, saying that everything was fine and that he was learning a lot every day.

He didn’t forget to thank them for the magic items they had all given to him the last time, he said that they had been of great use to him.

As for how they were useful to him, he didn’t say. Mia and the others were glad to hear that their gifts had helped Alex on his journey, they promised to get him some more next time he came around.

Alex quickly said that there wouldn’t be a need for that, the magic items would be too much and he possibly couldn’t use all of them.

To shift the topic, he brought up the matter concerning old Harold and the Blue Cross group. He still didn’t know if it was a good thing to join two different explorer groups, even if they weren’t in the same city.

Simon and the others laughed upon hearing this, Mia was the one who told Alex not to worry and that it was totally fine. Even if the two groups happened to meet someday, it would be for the better as Alex could act as a bridge to avoid conflict between the two groups and even encourage cooperation.

This would mostly be beneficiary to the Rising Wave group since the Blue Cross group had stronger members.

After that being said, Mia and her group members stayed at the shop a while longer before leaving to carry on with their day.

Alex spent the rest of the morning with his parents at the shop, helping with customers and other things.

Emily and Alicia returned from school later in the afternoon, and the girl excitedly went to show Alex her schoolwork. They had participated in some class work and she had gotten very good scores, which she was proud of and wanted to show to Alex.

“Good job,” Alex rubbed her head gently, causing Emily to smile in satisfaction.

The day continued without anything eventful happening, they closed the shops around 8 in the evening and everyone returned home.

During dinner, Zoran proposed that Alex should return to Brandvel City the next day. This was in consideration of the distance he would need to travel.

After all, it wasn’t every time that he would see a powerful mage to help him arrive within a day.

Although they were happy that he had visited and would love for him to stay, Brandvel was very far away, and they wanted Alex to make it back in time before his one-week leave was over; they didn’t want him to miss any classes.

Although Freda was sad about Alex leaving so soon, she didn’t object as she understood why he had to leave early as well.

Alex was fine with this as well, the real reason that he had come back after all was because of the members of the Dark Union who were hiding in the City. Since he had already dealt with them, he could return to Brandvel.

Only Emily had a problem with this, she didn’t want Alex to leave so quickly. No matter how much Freda and Zoran tried to convince her, the girl remained stubborn.

In the end, Alex suggested that he would spend one more day before leaving. Only then did Emily stop to make a ruckus.

Time passed swiftly, and it was finally the day for Alex to return to the Magic University. Freda and Zoran left the shop to their employees and took Alex to the park where he would get a car that was heading for Brandvel.

They insisted on waiting for Alex to get into a car and leave first before returning to the shop but Alex said it was fine and that they could leave first.

To make sure that they wouldn’t wait for him, he lied that he had forgotten to buy something at a shop closed by and would leave once he had gotten it.

Left with no other choice, Freda and Zoran returned to the shop after reminding Alex to keep them updated on his journey.

Now left alone, Alex let out a sigh and began to walk in the opposite direction that his parents had left. Reaching a quiet spot and seeing that no one was paying attention to him, Alex disappeared.

Alex didn’t return to Brandvel City right away; he scouted the area around Balon City to see if he would find anything or anyone suspicious. Only after he was certain that the area around Balon City was safe did Alex begin his journey back to Brandvel.

…..

It was almost dawn the next day when Alex arrived at Balon City, and the sky was gradually clearing with the rising of the sun in the distance.

Reaching Brandvel City, Alex did not go to his apartment directly. Since he was still supposed to be at Balon City, he would use the following days for a few things that he had not been able to.

One of them was farming exp points and the other was going to Brandvel Magic University as Mr Chen.

Since there was still a lot of time before class hours, Alex equipped his Mr Chen outfit and decided that he would go out to farm exp first.

Hours later, Alex stored away the corpse of the magic beast which he had just killed. He summoned his system profile and looked at his exp points. He had gained quite some exp this morning and it was time to return.

The sky was now very bright, and the wind carried subtle heat waves along; it was a beautiful day.

Alex arrived at Brandvel City swiftly, he kept the corpse of the magic beasts that he had killed for later and made his way to the university first.

He still had his mask and black robe on when he arrived at the university. Alex could see lots of students rushing towards the lecture buildings, he even saw a few familiar faces.

Silently releasing his senses, Alex quickly located vice dean Hannah, the elderly woman was currently on one of the floors of the university’s library.

After withdrawing his senses, Alex used Void walk and appeared directly beside the vice dean who was searching for a book on one of the shelves.

Vice Dean Hannah didn’t seem surprised by Mr Chen’s sudden appearance. She calmly turned and offered a polite smile.

“Mr Chen, you finally came. I was starting to think you would never show up since our last meeting.” She said jokingly, referring to the time she met Alex during the clash between those two Divine rank beasts.

“I apologise for the delay, I had some things to take care of,” Alex replied, sounding polite as well.

“Of course, it’s only normal for mages like us to be tied up with a lot of responsibility. I’m just glad that you finally came, let’s talk while we head back to my office,” Vice Dean Hannah suggested.

“Hmm,” Alex nodded in response.
