Chapter 249: Nothing is impossible
Alex no longer tried to pressure them to come out or to convince them to hand over the pagoda; he wasn’t in dire need of it anyway, and he just felt it would be a waste to destroy such a magical item.

But since these three from the Dark Union had insisted on not coming out, Alex would simply destroy it!

Without saying another word, Alex sent out another punch. Just like before, black lightning rushed out of his palm and struck the pagoda.

Boom!

The sound was deafening and the pagoda was sent flying into the distance while spinning uncontrollably, causing the people inside it to bounce around.

Alex had used all of his strength in that punch just now.

The pagoda flew for hundreds of meters through the night before crashing into the ground and creating a deep long trench.

But Alex wasn’t done yet. Arriving about the pagoda the instant it stopped crashing, Alex stomped down with a foot from above.

BAM!!

Waves of black lightning flew from his foot and struck the pagoda knocking it deeper into the earth.

At the same time, thousands of glowing black star constellations formed in the air around Alex and the pagoda.

A very violent pressure enveloped the entire area, it was so violent that it caused the small rocks and sand on the ground to disintegrate into fine dust.

After the black star constellations formed, different forms of powerful lightning spells shot from all of them and attacked the pagoda that kept getting knocked deeper into the earth and had already formed a deep pit.

Alex just stood in the air in his lightning form and watched as the thousands of star constellations bombarded the pagoda with powerful spells. Meanwhile, Hell fairy and her companion watched from within the pagoda, horror painted on their faces.

‘Is this the true strength of a Saint rank mage?’

That question kept repeating in their minds like a whisper of regret, regretting why they even came here in the first place or why they didn’t listen to Mr Chen’s offer earlier.

Maybe, just maybe he would have really let them go.

“Snap out of it! Look at him, does he look like he even planned on letting any of us go?” Hell fairy’s voice sounded in the ears of the other two, pulling them out of their seas of regret.

The two looked at Mr Chen who was standing in the midst of everything like a being not of this world, his cold eyes displaying the strong killing intent that even he didn’t seem to know he had.

Indeed, he didn’t look like someone who was going to spare them.

“Then what should we do?” The Grand Archmage asked, her face covered in panic.

If this went on, more mages would definitely be attracted by the noise of Mr Chen attacking them. And since the Dark Union were the public enemy of everyone on the planet, it wouldn’t be surprising if they joined hands with Mr Chen to kill them.

“Calm down then we can think of something. For now, we are safe inside the pagoda no matter how much he attacks it; breaking through its defence is impossible.” Hell fairy said with a bit of confidence.

Just after her voice dropped, another wave of lightning spells rained down, smashing the pagoda deeper into the huge pit.

But this time, something was different. A sound that wasn’t similar to what they had been hearing for the past few minutes had accompanied the downpour of spells.

Their necks stiffly turned and they all stared up. Their eyes widened the next moment, a crack appeared on top of the pagoda through which they could see the night sky and the star constellations above them!

“H-how is this possible?” Hell fairy mumbled with disbelief while the other two just stared with ghostly expression.

Another wave of spells struck down, and this time blasted away the top of the pagoda. Now, the night breeze could easily brush against their skills as they stood like statues and stared at Mr Chen like a demon.

“Nothing is impossible,” Mr Chen’s voice sounded before another wave of lightning spells rained down and drowned the three of them.

Alex stared with a calm expression as the three figures were swallowed by his lightning spells, he didn’t feel anything about killing the three.

‘They definitely couldn’t have survived that,’ Alex thought to himself. Though he couldn’t receive exp points for killing humans and couldn’t quite confirm, Alex was sure that those three could not survive the lightning bombardment.

But just to be sure, Alex spread out his senses to the extreme, covering thousands of kilometres.

After he couldn’t pick up the aura of any of the three, Alex was now very certain that they were dead.

Alex then ended the spell, and his body returned to normal. He had to admit that his Saint rank lightning spell was overpowered, even more powerful than the space sword.

If not for the system skill that regenerated mana for him, he would have been close to exhausting himself!

After returning to his human form, Alex set his eyes on what was left of the pagoda, a bit regretful that he had resorted to destroying it.

Alex checked with the all-knowing mask and saw that it had been damaged beyond repair, he didn’t bother taking it anymore.

He had hopes of repairing it, but since the mask had stated that it was beyond repair, it was gone for good.

Since he was done here, Alex headed back to Balon City. He arrived some time later and thought about informing Clint about the members from the Dark Union.

But after some thinking, Alex decided not to. Letting the man know that some powerful mages from the Dark Union had been hiding in the City could cause panic. Moreover, there was nothing that Clint could do about the situation or if another one happened.

Alex had someone more fit for such duty in mind, it was the windrend, Alicia!

Alex returned to his family’s mansion without anyone noticing and went to his room, he would talk to Alicia in the morning.

Morning came in a few hours, and everyone got busy inside the mansion, and they prepared for school and work.

Before Alicia and Emily left for school, Alex told Alicia that he had already dealt with the woman she reported about and wouldn’t be seeing her again. He also told her to keep being on the lookout and report to him immediately if she noticed anyone suspicious.

Emily was reluctant to go to school; she wanted to stay home and spend more time with her brother, but Freda wasn’t hearing any of it.

“Young lady, you need to go to school if you want to be a mage like your brother.” Freda had stated strongly.

Alex couldn’t help but smile at the scene. He patted Emily on the head and promised that he would still be here when she returned from school so they could still play together.

Only then did Emily agree to go to school with Alicia. After they left, Alex followed his parents to the shop.

Although he already knew about the progress of the shop from his parents through calls, Alex was still stunned to see it in person, their business had really grown a lot.

Later that day while he was at the shop, a group of people arrived.

“Well, well, well, if it isn’t our youngest who ran off to a magic university,” a middle-aged man voiced out with a wide grin on his face.
