Chapter 214: Union Core Center.
It appeared that Julius just wanted to know if Mr Chen had contacted Alex since the incident of the cracks. After learning that Alex didn’t meet with Mr Chen, he was disappointed but still offered to guide them to the registration hall.

The registration hall was just another hall inside the admission building where students’ admission into the university was finalised.

Alex received three sets of uniforms, a guide of the university premises so he could familiarise himself with the place and not get lost, some notebooks, and some textbooks.

He also got his dorm number and student card which had details like his name, element, and class year.

He was currently a first-year student. Alex wondered how many classes there were in total, would it be four years like the magic academy?

After finishing everything at the registration hall, the three of them left the admission building.

Julius said that he had other things to attend to and left first. Alex and Zoran returned to the car that was parked outside and using the guide that was given to Alex, they drove to the dorm section.

The dorm section was a five-minute drive away from the admission building; it was a bit far.

After they arrived, they quickly located Alex’s dorm and Zoran helped him move his things into his new room.

The magic university was generous enough to provide each student with a private room so they didn’t need to share with others and have some privacy.

The room wasn’t big and was about the same size as Alex’s old room back in the outskirts of Balon City. A bed was placed in the corner, a reading table and chair were placed in another corner of the room, and a door that led to a personal bathroom.

This was quite a high standard in Alex’s opinion; it was much better compared to the dorm rooms of most universities in his world, especially since students needed to share with roommates.

After setting his things, Alex escorted Zoran back to where his car was parked. It was time for him to return to his Freda and the two girls.

Zoran said a few words of encouragement to Alex and reminded him to contact them if he encountered any trouble. Alex assured him that he would be fine and that they shouldn’t be worried about him.

Zoran agreed to this; his son gave off a reliable air, and he was certain that Alex would be fine on his own. But regardless, he was a parent and couldn’t help worrying about leaving his son in such a far place all by himself even if it was for his future.

Alex chuckled, this was mostly true for his mother. The father and son pair speculated that Freda would most likely develop the habit of calling Alex every few days.

Before finally leaving, Zoran suggested transferring some money to Alex for his upkeep but Alex refused. He stated that he still had all of his savings from his missions as an explorer and shouldn’t have any monetary issues for some time.

“All right, make sure to contact us if you ever need help,” Zoran said before finally driving off.

Alex stood there and watched until Zoran drove out of sight. After Zoran left, Alex returned to his room. He passed by other students who also came to settle in. He saw some familiar faces; they were students who had taken the admission test with Alex.

Alex didn’t meet Eric on his way back, he didn’t actively search for him and just glanced around.

After reaching his room, he took out the guidebook and began to read through it, trying to familiarise himself with the various locations in the university.

There were the lecture halls, which consisted of several buildings in different locations; each class year had its own lecture hall sections.

Seeing that there were a total of five different lecture hall sections, Alex figured that students would spend five years in the university, which was a year more than the magic academies.

Aside from lecture halls, there were training grounds, cafeteria buildings, instructors’ and staff-only areas, a vault, and plenty of other sections in the university premises.

After reading for a bit, Alex got bored and stopped reading.

Classes won’t start until next week, they were informed at the registration hall that all new students were to attend a welcoming orientation on the first day of the coming week before classes officially began.

So until then, students were free to do whatever they wanted. Of course, there were a few rules.

Students were not allowed to be outside their dorms once it was past ten in the evening. And new students were not allowed to go outside the university grounds for the first three months of learning. Only after three months could new students go out for whatever business they had to attend to.

Be it explorers who wanted to go on missions, visiting families, or those who didn’t want to live in the university’s dorm and wanted to get a place outside.

Everything would have to wait until after three months.

Since he had nothing to do, Alex decided to visit the Union Core Center here in the capital.

He activated Void Walk in his room and directly left the university grounds. While in the white space, he equipped the all-knowing mask and indestructible robe.

Some time later, Alex found the Union building. The place wasn’t difficult to find, it was literally the single largest building in the entire City with lots of mages gathered in it.

Alex used Void Walk to directly enter the building and easily picked up William’s aura.

William, who was chatting with other members of the Union, was startled when a masked figure in a black robe suddenly appeared in front of him.

The others who were with him were shocked as well; their first reaction was to distance themselves and summon their stars in case they needed to attack.

“Mr Chen?” William quickly realised that the masked figure was Mr Chen; his look of shock instantly changed to one of surprise.

“Elder William, you know him?” someone asked, still not retracting their stars.

“Yes,” William said and proceeded to clear the confusion.

After explaining to the men who Alex was, William then turned to face him.

“Mr Chen, you need to stop appearing so suddenly like that, this isn’t Balon City anymore; what if someone had attacked you?” William said, feeling a headache.

With Mr Chen’s personality, it would be a disaster if someone attacked him because they thought he was an intruder. Would he hold a grudge against their Union Core Center?

“I understand,” was all Alex replied with.

William shook his head. Mr Chen had always been a person of few words, so he didn’t expect too much from him.

“I believe you just arrived, welcome to Brandvel City. It just happens that the Union chief is around, let me introduce you.” William said, and Alex nodded in response.

William then said a few words to the other men with whom he was conversing before Alex appeared, and then asked Alex to follow him.

The two of them walked to the elevator and ascended to a higher floor.

After some time, they came to the front of the office.

“Chief, Mr Chen is here!” William knocked on the door and announced.

“Oh, come in then.” A female voice answered from inside the office.

William looked at Alex with an approving smile before pushing the door open and the two of them went in.

Entering the office, Alex saw a mature woman with long pink hair sitting on a chair in the corner of the office with one leg crossed on top of the other; the chair was obviously meant for people who came to see her but she was using it instead.

She wore a white blouse and black leather pants, and a brown coat hung over her shoulders.

Alex was stunned upon seeing her. The woman was beautiful and stunning; she gave him the same feeling as Aunt Mia.

“Chief, this is Mr Chen that I’ve told you about,” William said to the pink-haired woman after entering the office.

The woman’s eyes moved as she sized up Alex, a curious glint flashing across her eyes.

“Mr Chen, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you. I’ve heard so much about you.” She said as she stood up.

[Probing energy detected, blocked!]

Alex paused. He was surprised to see the notification, but wasn’t offended. It was normal to check the other party’s rank after meeting them for the first time.

“Mr Chen is indeed as extraordinary as I’ve heard, even I can’t see through you.” The woman said with a faint smile.

William, who was standing in the corner, was secretly shocked to hear this. He knew that Mr Chen was powerful, but even the Union chief couldn’t see through him.

“I hope things you’ve heard about me are good things,” Alex replied as he also checked the other party’s rank. The result shocked him.

The woman in front of him was at the Sorcerer Mage rank, a step away from becoming a Saint!

Meanwhile, William was shocked again.

‘Did Mr Chen just make a joke?’
