Chapter 580: The Demon King
“You want us to kidnap the Demon King’s children?” For a moment, Daniel felt like he had heard wrong.
But to his surprise, Kayn nodded again, confirming that Daniel hadn’t misheard. A frown appeared on Daniel’s face for a second before turning into a sigh.
“You do know who the Demon King is, right? Kidnapping his children isn’t something you can get away with cheaply.”
The Demon King, who many also called the Demon Emperor, is one of the strongest figures in the entire world, and also one of the most feared.
One of the few Semi-Gods, and the supreme existence standing at the top of all demonkind. It wasn’t wrong to say he could stand against all of humanity alone.
The demon race had unique innate abilities that made them extremely different from other races, and the Demon King possessed those abilities, only in a much stronger form.
Even among other Demi-Gods, he didn’t have many rivals.
Besides, because of his racial abilities, very few Demi Gods even dare to face him directly. Most of them try to negotiate with him instead of fighting.
Otherwise, how is it even possible that humanity, which has multiple Demi Gods, ended up compromising with the Demon race, which has only one?
If it weren’t for the Demon King, humans would have defeated the Demon race long ago and most likely would have enslaved them, and this long-lasting hatred wouldn’t have continued until now.
Kidnapping the children of such an existence was basically suicide.
“I know what you’re thinking, but don’t worry. The Demon King won’t dare to enter the Human Continent right now. And this is actually the best time to take his children hostage,” Kayn said, noticing his concern.
“What exactly is stopping him? As far as I know, people call him a fearless madman.”
Daniel was a bit shocked.
He had never heard, and never even dared to imagine, that someone like the Demon King would be afraid of anyone. With his racial abilities that make him almost unkillable, who could possibly scare him?
Even if he can’t defeat someone, that doesn’t mean his opponent can kill him. After all, battles at the Demi God level are completely different.
“That’s in normal circumstances. But right now things are different. She woke up, and very few people would dare anger humanity at a time like this.”
“She?”
“The Mad Empress,” Kayn answered after a brief pause.
Daniel fell silent. He had heard about this person before, everyone who mentioned her seemed terrified. But was this woman really that scary?
“Is she really powerful enough to scare the Demon King?”
“Even more than that. Her exact power level is a secret, but they say she’s at the peak of the Semi-God rank. Some rumors say she’s the single strongest living being right now, and others say there are dragons who can compete with her.”
Hearing that, Daniel was shocked. He didn’t expect her to actually be that powerful.
So Eva became the disciple of someone like that? But how?
“What do you think? Will you help me now? You don’t need to worry about the Demon King taking revenge. He won’t even learn our identities. Besides, we’re doing this to save the innocent people in the gulf.”
“Because of those stupid conflicts between the two races, thousands of innocent lives are lost every day. Maybe if we do this, we can finally put an end to these endless wars,” Kayn said with a sense of justice.
“You seriously think I’m going to fall for that crap? You don’t look like someone who cares about their lives,” Daniel replied with sarcasm.
Still, Kayn didn’t argue. He simply waited for Daniel’s answer. This wasn’t a mission he could complete alone, he needed help. He had considered going to other Wanderers first, but then he accidentally came across news and rumors about this old friend.
Daniel truly surprised him. In just a few months, he had become strong enough to be considered a powerhouse.
“What do I get out of this?” Daniel finally asked after thinking about it long enough. He compared the risks and the benefits and realized there was absolutely no benefit for him in this deal.
“One drop of Ancient Dragon blood,” Kayn said without any hesitation.
“A drop of a dragon’s blood? Who would even be willing to give something like that as a reward?” Daniel was shocked and didn’t know what to say for a moment.
Dragons were divine beasts, and their bloodline was the strongest among all creatures. Both their bodies and their souls were unmatched in this world.
Just like dragon eggs were insanely valuable and could drive even the strongest people mad, the blood of an adult dragon was equally precious.
But the blood of an Ancient Dragon was beyond any form of valuation. With a drop of Ancient Dragon blood, he could even transform and evolve his physical body.
“The same person who wants us to kidnap the Demon King’s children. I don’t know who they are. So? Are you helping or not?” Kayn answered.
Daniel didn’t reply immediately and fell into thought again. The reward was too generous, and even he couldn’t easily refuse something like that. Besides, he already planned to go to the Gulf of Sumer sooner or later and find the Eternity Pagoda.
He could use this opportunity to go now, and he didn’t really have anything urgent to do at the moment.
Maybe he could even find a few good videos to upload to Ctube.
“When do we leave?” he finally asked, showing his agreement.
“Today, or tomorrow at the latest. We have to get there as soon as possible, our targets won’t stay in the gulf for long,” Kayn said with a wide smile on his face.
“Fine. Before leaving, there are a few small things I need to take care of first,” Daniel nodded.
From his perspective, with his current level of strength, there shouldn’t be anything in that gulf he couldn’t handle. In the worst case, he’d just run away.
But in reality, he had no idea what was waiting for him there.
