Chapter 563: A God Within Him?
Daniel slowly reclaimed his body, his consciousness fully taking back control. Then, he glanced at the man kneeling before him.

He wasn’t sure how to react. He had witnessed everything, things that went far beyond his imagination, things he never expected to see.

He had only activated the skill [Fallen Will], and the, boom. Suddenly, his consciousness was taken over, and a completely different awareness seized control of his body.

He had always been curious about who or what took over when he used that skill, and today he finally found out.

It turned out to be none other than the Fallen God himself, the very god whose blood ran through his veins.

And more importantly, he had just witnessed a battle between two gods, a battle in which the Fallen God completely overwhelmed the Buried God.

A battle that destroyed the entire world, erasing it from existence. Nothing was left, the world itself had perished.

That level of combat was far beyond anything he could comprehend, a scale of power that shattered human understanding. Now he realized just how insignificant he and all mortals were before the true power of gods.

“At least the third floor was cleared, right?” he laughed quietly to himself before looking again at the young man kneeling before him.

It was Drael’s body. He looked completely dead, something Daniel hadn’t expected. He thought he’d found a good subordinate for his organization, but apparently, he was wrong.

[ The Third Floor has been successfully conquered ]

[ You will be teleported in ten minutes ]

Two public announcements and one personal message appeared in front of him from the Mother System.

[ You cannot use the skill ‘Fallen Will’ for three months ]

He expected that. Thinking about it now, the skill was absurdly powerful, so much that even the word “powerful” didn’t describe it properly. There were no words that could.

With that skill, was he practically invincible? Well, no.

His body had limits, and when the Fallen God took over, he couldn’t wield infinite power.

If the power exceeded a certain threshold, Daniel’s body would explode, his existence would collapse, and he’d die instantly.

So, what he had seen today was probably the limit. If the Buried God had somehow managed to draw out more power, Daniel would’ve lost.

Luckily, this time fortune was on his side.

“But… doesn’t this mean the Fallen God is inside me? That he’s been hiding in my body all this time? But how do I even talk to him?” he thought.

The realization that an unknown entity had possibly been living inside him all this time made him uneasy. Still, there was nothing he could do about it now.

So maybe it was better to take advantage of this and seek guidance instead. He was sure that with the help of a god, he could become much stronger.

And maybe, he could even learn valuable things, advice, guidance, and the secrets about his own bloodline.

“Is someone there?” he tried to reach out, to connect with that awareness inside him, but there was no response.

No matter how much he tried, no one answered. It felt as if nothing was there at all. That only made him more confused.

Could it really be that nothing was inside him? Or maybe the god was in some kind of deep slumber, only manifesting when he used the skill?

‘I should consider the possibility that he might try to possess me too,’ Daniel thought grimly. He wasn’t stupid enough to think the Fallen God had purely friendly intentions.

Just as the Buried God had possessed Drael’s body, the Fallen God could easily do the same to him. In fact, it was highly likely that he intended to, to raise Daniel like livestock until he became strong enough, and then seize his body.

That thought made Daniel frown. If that was true, how could he prevent it? He doubted he had the power to resist right now.

Worse, he didn’t even know when such a possession might happen.

His frown deepened, his face darkening. Just the thought of it sent a cold shiver down his spine.

“I need to find a way to stop him from taking over… my soul. My soul needs to become strong enough that he can’t destroy it,” he muttered. Once he got out of here, he had to figure out how to strengthen his soul, no matter what.

“But where’s that girl?” His mind had been so cluttered that he had completely forgotten about Sophia. She was supposed to be freed from the seal once everything was over.

He looked around, but unfortunately, there was no sign of her, no sign of anything, really.

The entire world had turned into emptiness and void. There was nothing left to see.

“Could she be dead?” he murmured, feeling a pang of guilt, though there was nothing he could do. He could only sigh, maybe it was just her bad luck.

He turned, intending to take one last look around. But suddenly, he felt the faint presence of life, a pulse of existence. His frown returned instantly.

“What?” His gaze locked onto Drael’s body. The same body he thought was dead was now showing clear signs of life.

Wasn’t this man dead? How could he still be alive? The real Drael’s soul should’ve been completely erased, it was impossible for him to have survived.

As for the Buried God, that was even more impossible. Daniel had seen with his own eyes how the Fallen God had sealed him.

So how could he possibly be alive again? A terrible sense of foreboding spread through Daniel’s entire body.

If the Buried God had somehow escaped the seal and returned, Daniel knew he stood no chance, none at all.

But the Mother System had clearly confirmed that the Buried God was sealed and that Daniel had conquered the floor.

“Wait… could it be?” He suddenly recalled the conversation between the two gods, the way they kept referring to each other as old friends, the way they spoke of their shared past.

As Daniel’s mind raced, the eyes of the body before him slowly opened, and that same divine, overwhelming aura filled the air again.

“It seems they really were fooled,” he said quietly.
