Chapter 327: The billionaire’s want to move.
Hades did not know whether she was serious or not, either way he had no plans of taking her up on that offer. He even took a step back, putting a distance between them.

What she had asked would surely reach his wife’s ears. He did not want to get in trouble with her. “I am a one-woman kind of guy.”

Phaedra tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. “Well…I had to ask. It has become a thing for stronger men and women to have more partners. I apologize for bringing it up, I just don’t feel safe with Jin anymore.”

“You have to learn combat tactics that will keep you alive.” Dwayne said, “depending on others while you sit pretty painting your nails will not work in this new world.” He regarded her from head to toe. She looked like she was heading to a rich women’s club for brunch.

Phaedra sniggered. “Look at me, do I look like I can fight anything? Look, no matter what, I plan to leave this place. Can I seek refuge on your base?” She asked, before turning to yell at someone. “And you_ don’t pile the bodies near the gate, for crying out loud, take them to the firepit. We don’t want to risk getting sick. Use your brain.”

She took three steps away from the men and barked more orders. It was obvious that she had taken charge in Jin’s absence and she was sort of doing a good job putting things in order.

The two men took that as their cue to leave. Dwayne turned first and Hades followed him slowly.

“If you see that idiot,” Phaedra shouted. “Tell him that I am going to kill him. And expect me and my family at your base after I make sure things here are at least in order. I will cover the rent.”

Hades nodded once, motioning at Dwayne to keep going all the way until they reached the truck. They left men in hazmat suits collecting rat bodies, storing them in frozen containers Sunshine had distributed.

“Jon’s base.” He told Dwayne.

Dwayne looked at the base behind them which belonged to Sheldon. “Right, he planted all those landmines all the way to his gate. I had forgotten about that.”

Hades sighed. Sheldon was truly a hopeless case. Now, no one could drive up to his base or run out of it. Medicine and other things had to be delivered there by drones.

When they reached Jon’s compound, they were not surprised to see that it was severely damaged as well. Holes everywhere, one gate half hanging off its hinges but at least no dead bodies in sight. Cleaning and repairing were already being done.

Just like other bases, the people there were hauling carcasses to the fire pits.

“Where is he?” Hades asked Courtney, Jon’s sister.

She led him them to the main hall in the residence. The walls were lined with paintings, old and new. Even from outside they could hear someone yelling drunkenly from inside.

Hades pushed the door open, and they were greeted by a strong wave of alcohol. Like someone had wiped the walls and floors with it.

Pinching his nose, Hades looked around. All the billionaires were there, slumped in the sofas. Some were asleep, snoring even.

Jon sat in the sofa near the fireplace, still in his night clothes, wrapped in a huge fur coat. His eyes were half red and face swollen, a half empty bottle of whiskey dangled from his left hand.

Dwayne tsked, disapproving the scene he was looking at. “These idiots, how are they drinking with everything that is happening out there?”

“At least they are alive.” Hades replied. “Hey morons.” He shouted, his voice rang through the room, calling for their attention.

Dwayne kicked an empty wine bottle, and it smashed against the wall. Those who were asleep were startled awake.

“Hades!” Jon cried, his face lighting up. “By the gods, you finally came…..I almost died my friend.”

Hades raised his brow. “It’s barely noon, and you are drunk?”

Jon ignored the remark, stumbling toward him. “I was celebrating! I survived death narrowly.”

Hades smirked. “What happened to your hair?” He pointed at the bald spots on his head.

Jon trembled fervently. “Rats. One of them jumped on my head and chewed my hair like it was grass.” He paused, swallowing. “I fought it off, then I tripped over a wire and fell. I lost consciousness and woke up at 3 a.m. I do not know how I am alive!”

Hades bit his lip, trying not to laugh. “And your first thought after waking up was to drink! Sometimes, I wonder how your brains work. Now that I have seen that you are all alive….I am leaving.”

Jon sobered up immediately. “Wait! Hades, you can’t leave. What do we do now? We need help, our bases are overwhelmed. The doctors are exhausted, some of my men are dead. At least let us take them to fortress four to get treatment…. please.”

Kris showed his arm; it had a band aid around it. “I really need those doctors to take a look at this bite.”

“It’s just a scratch Kris, and you scratched yourself.” Jon raised his voice.

“How do you know that? A rat could have done this.” Kris argued. “I want to be admitted in the Fortress four medic bay. VIP room, for four years and three months.”

“We are investors.” Sheldon reminded Hades.

Hades smiled stiffly and exhaled slowly. His wife’s expansion plan had to be put first. He continued reminding himself of this. “It’s fine, we can make arrangements…. anything to keep our investors happy.”

Hades pulled out his radio and called home. “Fortress four, this is Hades. I need two medical squads sent to Jon’s base. We have multiple casualties.”

Static cracked, then Lisha’s voice came through, steady and calm. “Copy that. Dispatching med squads now. Be careful out there, cousin.”

When the call ended, Jon stopped Hades from leaving again. “Hades, with all this property destroyed and a quarter of our soldiers dead, our chances of survival have greatly reduced.”

“That is true.” Hades stated, folding his arms. He could feel that there was more coming.

Jon was now lucid and clear headed, a complete reversal from his drunken state of minutes before. “You have been talking about expanding, I suggest that you start with our bases.”

His words shocked the other billionaires; Jon had made this suggestion without discussing it with them first.

“Jon! That is really not your decision to make.” Sheldon burst out saying.

Jon glared at him. “Shut up Sheldon, you really have very little say in this matter considering that you practically live here.”

Hades looked at the billionaires one after the other. The suggestion was worth merit. “And the rest of you? How do you feel about this?”

Cole swallowed hard and nodded. “I agree with Jon. We could barely handle ourselves with the rats. Of what use is it calling ourselves leaders of bases when we can’t even protect them? The next attack could wipe us all out. Our walls barely protected us. and our gates fell or sustained damages. I can’t live like this.”

“But the condition is that we move to Fortress Four.” Kris said.

“Move!” Dwayne exclaimed.

Kris nodded. “And we need special treatment, after all we are injecting money into this expansion project. We want to live in the inner wall, not the third one.”

All the billionaires nodded, united in that front.

“Your residence was supposed to be a high-end resort. You have many empty resort apartments in your building. 169 to be precise. Tracy heard you and your wife talking about it.” Jon revealed.

“And you did not tell the rest of us?” Sheldon gasped like he had been betrayed.

“Shut up secret seed man.” Kris hissed at him.

Hades clapped his hands before they could argue or come to blows. “Gentlemen, I have no issues taking you in, in exchange for ownership of your bases. But the decision rests on my wife’s shoulders. If you could all dress appropriately and follow me, we can discuss this in Fortress four and sign a proper contract.”
