Chapter 324: Googly eyes.
Hades looked reluctant to talk.

“What did you do?” she asked, again.

He rubbed the bridge of his nose. “I might have kicked Dominic.”

Sunshine blinked.

Philip sat up. “Now this is a story I would love to hear.”

Lisha lowered her hand. “Oh cousin, I know you are jealous because Sunshine was googly eyed when she heard that man’s name, but it is no reason to kick him. For crying out loud, he has a wife in the medic bay, and he is grieving the death of his children. This is….”

Hades stretched his hand out and pinched her lips shut. “Stop writing fictional movie scripts. I did not kick him because of jealousy.” He looked at Sunshine and said with emphasis, “I am not jealous because you made googly eyes at him.”

“I don’t even know what googly eyes are.” Sunshine cried out.

Lisha leaned forward and said, “Have you seen Bob around Mrs. Alcock’s cat, Pipi? His pupils get dilated and he….”

Hades groaned, bent, picked up Sunshine and walked off with his wife.

“I know when my eyes get googly.” Philip said.

Lisha huffed, rolled her eyes and walked away.

“I am going to marry that girl.” Philip muttered and laid back down on the ground. He had done his duty of defending the base, clean up duty could be done by others.

When Sunshine was carried off, she did not think that she would be going to a bathroom directly. She also didn’t think that her husband would be joining her in the bathroom!

The next time he said the words “bath” as a question, she really needed to tell him to make his intentions clearer.

Hades was standing meanwhile, just staring. He had come in with medicine because he noticed a fading burn mark on her hand. And now, he was now mesmerized by the view of her soft, full breasts on display. She was wearing sexy panties, red in color. A matching red bra was dangling in her hand. He had never seen her red, or so he thought. Did she know how hot she looked in red?

“Damn.” He whispered.

Hades wanted to see her in the bra. He wanted a full view of the matching sexy undergarment set. And yet, he wanted her to take everything off. He couldn’t decide which option he wanted more at the moment.

How was a man supposed to pick between his favorite deserts?

She reached for a towel and covered her body.

Hades sighed sadly. “Damn. Why did you have to do that?”

Sunshine huffed. “Because you still haven’t told me what happened to your leg or why you kicked Dominic Steward.”

He groaned. “Must his name come up when we are in the bathroom, and I am about to strip and show you my firm butt cheeks?”

Sunshine burst into laughter.

He smiled. “My ability to make you laugh everyday makes me wonder of giving up a career in comedy to pursue business was worth it.” He took her hand and looked at it. The burn was already healed and gone.

“Think of it this way, if you had gone into comedy the probability of your sons existing would be zero because your ex-wife would never have looked at you twice.” She told him.

“Ouch.” He smiled.

“Also, we would not have met because there would be no Quinn manor so no Sunshine the servant turned wife.” She added.

He turned around to place the medicine in the counter. She threw the towel off and rushed to get into the bathtub. It was already filled with warm water and the peach scent of her favorite bath bomb. The water itself was a thick pink and purple mix.

Hades turned around, noticed that she had had been quick to take advantage of the moment to hide in the tub and he laughed. He didn’t leave. He pulled a stool from the corner and sat down at the foot of the tub, reaching for her feet.

As his finger brushed over the soles, he asked, “Do you really think that we would never have met if there was no Quinn manor?”

“Yes.” she answered.

Hades shook his head, “I don’t think so.”

Her eyes lifted, meeting his. “Why? Realistically speaking, my uncle and aunt would not have come to work at your manor because you would not have one. I would not have come to live there. I would probably grow up in the house my parents left me, some apartment in the poor side of the city.” She grinned. “Or a farm.”

“Aha!” He said with strength. “I would be a struggling comedian working in a bar in the poor side of the city. We would have met at some point. And I would never forget meeting a beautiful woman named Sunshine Raine.”

She was still skeptical. Babel city was not home to comedians, actors and actresses. One had to move to Saint Croix city for the thrilling life. “You would be a St. Croix boy.”

Hades shuddered. St. Croix city was all about the fast life. A lot of money, drugs, sex, guns and luxury. Great for investment but not his ideal place for living. That is why he never moved there. “I think you are wrong. I think we would have met somewhere, somehow. You think it is impossible but were the odds of you and I ever becoming husband and wife.”

She nodded slowly. “Point made. Before I became your wife, you didn’t even know my name.”

“I did.” He said quickly. But his voice was high pitched, a great sign that he was not being truthful.

Sunshine laughed. “It’s okay honey, you know it now.”

He grinned mischievously, “I know more than your name now. I know the shape of your breasts.”

Sunshine burst into laughter again. “And I know you are toothless wolf.”

He arched his brows and playfully moved his fingers up her right leg. She kicked some water with her left foot, splashing it on his shirt. “Before we continue with silly talk, are you going to tell me why you kicked Dominic? I need to have answers for his wife if she asks.”

Hades looked ready to roll his eyes, but he did not. “Some rats were trying to make their way into the command center, so I decided to stomp them to death. Dominic was supposed to be posted at the medic bay, near his wife. I don’t know why he came to the command center to engage in a stomping competition with me. I was kicking a rat when I accidentally kicked him in the ribs. He caught my leg and ripped me off my feet.”

There was sulking in his voice that she detected.

“Ripped you off your feet.” She said thoughtfully.

He nodded. “He is strong. Very strong. Morris kind of strong. He barely winced when my leg connected with his ribs.”

“Woah!” she exclaimed.

Hades suddenly ripped off his shirt and took off his pants.

“What are you doing?” She asked him.

“I have explained the mystery of the leg and now I am going to scrub your back and give you a massage.” He answered as he stepped into the tub. “My wife just came home from war. All I want to do is pamper her.”

A fraction of a second later, his hard muscles were pressing against her breasts and his mouth covered hers. He was determined to kiss her until she made googly eyes only for him.
