Chapter 300: Escape from Noxian.
Confusion pooled in her eyes. More eggs? There are more eggs. No wonder they had me sign a non-disclosure agreement, Sunshine thought. They were trying to repopulate in secret.
She thought about how much she was going to make from repairing all the eggs they had. Probably enough to afford a brand-new weather under suit. Perhaps she would even buy that silly ridiculously expensive Lulupod which she did not need but still wanted anyway even though she never allowed herself to admit this.
Sunshine backed away from Asgeda and smiled like a businesswoman. “Why not? I have no problem with repairing all of them, just have my gold ready. We should sign an agreement first.”
Asgeda’s face twisted. His hand moved faster than she expected, pulling a small red and black gun from his pocket. The weapon was pointed at sunshine. “You think that this is a negotiation? You will fix them as commanded.” He said, voice sharp as ice. “And forget about the payment.”
Sunshine froze. “Excuse me!”
Tank could sense the danger; weapons came out from different openings of his body. “On your orders Foreman Rocky. ”
From the corners of the room, more figures identical to Asgeda_stepped out, each armed, each glowing faintly white. The floor vibrated beneath her feet.
Tank moved protectively in front of her. “Still waiting.”
Sunshine took a slow breath. “This is against the client- repairmen code, you know that right?”
Asgeda smirked “We Noxians do not care about that.”
The floor opened beneath them, revealing a spiral staircase descending into darkness. “Downstairs.” Asgeda shouted. “Now.”
Sunshine clenched her fists. “System anytime now.”
The air warped. A warm hole split open behind them as they vanished. The last thing they heard were the Noxians shouting angrily.
Sunshine hit the tiled floor of the workshop with a grunt. Tank landed beside her with a heavy clang.
She pulled herself upright, wincing.
“Foreman, are you alright! Some shots were fired our way.” He asked.
Sunshine waved her hand in a dismissive manner. “I am good Tank.” Her heart was pounding like a runaway generator.”I am never taking a job for the Noxians ever again. Now I know why no other repairman wanted to help them. Bunch of no-good traitorous aliens.”
Tanks eyes flickered. “I will remind you of that if you are ever tempted to repeat your mistake.”
She let out a dry laugh. “System is my payment secured?”
[Not yet. The Noxians owe you.]
Sunshine kicked the air. “So, I went through all that shit for nothing!?”
[The council is not soft host, the Noxians will pay or suffer terrible consequences.]
She stood up, mumbling more curses but not ten seconds later, she heard a ping that was familiar.
[Host your payment has been deposited.
Congratulations host; you have received 1,500,000 gold coins, 200,000 merit coins, and 50,000 points.]
“And?” Sunshine urged it to keep going, she was waiting for more rewards which she considered more important.
[For your courage, the system rewards you with three passes to go to any world that you have previously been to. The space has enlarged and the library in the living section is open. There you will find manuals on mechanics, repair skills and survival skills for when repairmen meet unexpected circumstances.]
Sunshine sighed, scrolling to her stats. “System, ban all job requests from Noxian from now on.”
[As you wish host.]
Her eyes perused through the stats, looking for changes.

She was shocked to see three worlds visited. To her, planet Noxian did not count because she had not seen any part of it.
It didn’t matter anyway as she was never going back. It was time for retire as she had done enough for the day including surviving being kidnapped or even killed.
The thought of being killed made her realize something else. There was no way the Noxians were going to let her and Tank walk with the knowledge they had about their secret eggs.
“System, those Noxians cannot track me back to earth, right?” She asked, halting her steps.
[Do not worry host, they will not find you even if they try.]
Sunshine exhaled loudly, the last thing she wanted to do was put her family or even the entire earth in trouble. They already had enough to deal with minus an invasion from the Noxians.
She left the space and her home office altogether. The house was quiet and clean. No children. No bear. No husband. While the peace lasted, she ate some food and had her bath. Then, she turned on the television and sat cross-legged on the couch.
Just as Castiel’s cartoons screamed across the room, the door beeped as Cathy let herself out.
Sunshine looked over her shoulder once and made sure she was all alone. Then, she waved her hand, pulling old manuals from the library in the space. Then, she waved her hand, adding books to the manuals.
The book on top was titled: If It’s Worshiped As A God, Glowing and whispering, Leave It Alone.
Sunshine giggled.
The second book was titled: Sometimes, It Just Wants To Be Broken: Respecting AI Mood Swings.
Again, she giggled. before looking at the title of the third book.
Do Not Fix This! A Repairman’s Guide To Avoiding Universal Lawsuits.
She gasped. “Wait, we can be sued!!! How did I not know this?” Sunshine opened her ice cream and opened the book. It called for her attention the most.
She did not realize how much time passed until the lock of the door beeped from outside and her husband entered the house. He came to the living room, looked at the television and then her.
“Am I interrupting?” He asked.
Sunshine looked up from the book, a smile tugging her lips. “Of course not.” she said gently, slipping a bookmark between the pages before setting it aside.
“How do you feel, I could tell that you had a headache when you left the meeting.” He sat and pulled her, placing her on his lap.
“Thanks to you and your magic soup, I feel a lot better.” She gave him a tiny kiss on the lips.
Hades rubbed the side of her thigh. “About last night…..Are we okay?” He voiced, quietly.
Sunshine’s laughter came soft. “You mean….about this morning and how we woke up naked?”
Hades grinned despite himself.
Sunshine laughed, burying her face in her hands for a moment before looking at him with a new charge of bravery. “We are more than okay Hades. We both know that nothing really happened. We were too tired and too drunk to do anything.”
He chuckled, but his gaze lingered on her cheeks which were slightly pink. She was embarrassed.
Their hands brushed on the couch, neither pulled away. The world blurred, all they could see was each other. Hades reached for her hand, his thumb grazing the back of it. She looked up, meeting his eyes, the ones that looked at her like she was something precious.
“Suni….” he murmured.
She didn’t answer, she didn’t have to, she simply leaned in. Their lips met in a slow, uncertain kiss that deepened almost immediately. Gentle at first, then desperate in a way that two people who had been holding back for far too long often were. Her hand rose to his jaw, fingers trembling. He pulled her closer, breathing her in, tasting coldness and everything they had both longed for.
“Mom! We are home!” Castiel’s voice rang through the house as they suddenly walked in.
Hades and Sunshine jerked apart just as Lisha reached them, grinning widely. “Were you two doing something naughty?”
Ariel’s eyes shifted between his parents. “Naughty?…..do you mean drinking again?”
Both his parents froze.
“No.” They said in unison.
Ariel frowned at them, zipped open his bag and produced a breathalyzer and held it up. He did not say what he expected but his eyes said it all.
“You have got to be kidding me.” Hades said in disbelief.
