Chapter 706: I will get what I want on my own
Since neither of the two could agree with one another, Dacheng didn’t force Bai Meiyue. He simply said goodbye and turned to leave with Lu Yin. Dacheng was not in a hurry; he didn’t believe that Bai Meiyue was going to let Yu Miaomiao go. That woman detested Yu Miaomiao to the point that she wished she could kill her this very second for targeting her son. Naturally, she wouldn’t let her go. So, Dacheng was not really worried. Even if the two of them couldn’t cooperate, the end result would still be the same.
So, Dacheng was rather calm.
“Is it alright?” Lu Yin asked dumbly from the side. She raised her head and looked at Dacheng before saying to him, “She is still not willing to help us; without her, how will we deal with Bai Feng?”
“You don’t need to worry about these things.” Dacheng shot a glance at Lu Yin and smiled at her calculatingly. “You just need to keep Chief Lin happy, as long as you—”
“LU YIN!”
Dacheng was still speaking when someone shouted from behind. He paused and turned to look at the person. When he saw that it was Lu Yu, his pupils shrank, and he simply slipped away from Lu Yin, as he knew that he couldn’t deal with Lu Yu. Of course, this sight fell in the eyes of Bai Meiyue, who smiled and crossed her arms to look at the drama that was taking place in front of her. She wanted to see how low Lu Yin could go. Anyway, she was getting bored.
Lu Yu walked over to his sister. He had long heard about Lu Yin’s change, but he never thought that the changes were this extreme. He looked at his sister, who looked like a hooker, even though she was underage! His eyes widened in anger as he shot a glare at Dacheng.
“Brother?” Lu Yin softly called Lu Yu; even though she didn’t like this elder brother and resented him for not giving her what she wanted, Lu Yin still maintained a polite attitude in front of Lu Yu because she hoped that, sooner or later, her brother would join her and bring Lei Qian with him. That’s right, even though she was now with Chief Lin, she was still hanging onto Lei Qian. She was still pinning.
Lu Yu snapped out of his murderous thoughts and turned to look at his sister. The more he looked at her, the more disappointed he became. He recalled what Bai Meiyue had told him about Lu Yin being smart enough to understand what was wrong and right for her. He suppressed the burning rage and disappointment in his heart before asking softly, “Ah Yin, what are you wearing?”
Lu Yin frowned as if she didn’t understand his question. She looked down at her uniform, which was perfectly fine in her eyes, as it made her look sexy and mature like Bai Meiyue and not a child. She raised her head and flipped the locks of her hair behind her before saying to her brother, “What’s wrong? It’s cute.”
“It’s cute?” Lu Yu choked on his words. He closed his eyes and then took in a sharp breath before saying to Lu Yin, “What do you mean by cute? You are sixteen. You are three months and a year away from turning eighteen. What kind of clothes are you wearing? Is this how a young girl around your age should be acting? You are dressing like you are in your late twenties when you are not. This is not how a girl around your age should be behaving.”
All his life, he had protected his sister from all the harm that came her way; never did he once think that his sister would actually do such a thing. She had thrown away all the respect and honour with which he had treated her. All the time, he tried his best to make sure that his sister was getting what she deserved and no one insulted her in ways that would hurt her, and what did she do in return? She was dressing and acting way too mature for her age, which was not good.
Lu Yin, however, didn’t seem to understand his concern. Instead, she frowned even harder, as if her brother was intervening way too much in her life when he had no right to. “What do you mean? No one cares how I dress up. This is no longer the world where we used to live, Brother Yu. I am trying to survive, and I think that has nothing to do with how I dress up. At least I am not selling myself.”
“It has nothing to do with how you dress up?” Lu Yu raised his voice, and Bai Meiyue flinched as she stepped back. She realised that the man was losing his control and she didn’t want to be caught in the crossfire. “Well, I do care. How can I see you dressing like –dressing like a—”
“Like a what?” Lu Yin snapped back. “Am I doing this because I want to? No! I am doing it because you were not listening to me. I don’t want to lower my head and work as someone’s servant, brother. I have much more potential than that, and I will do anything to get that. If you won’t give me what I want, then I will take it on my own.” After she finished speaking, she shot a look at Bai Meiyue, who smiled and waved her hand at the girl, which only made Lu Yin even more furious as she swivelled on her feet and walked away angrily.
Lu Yu watched her go, and he was so angry that he started breathing angrily. For a good three seconds, he couldn’t believe what his sister had just told him.
“Crazy, she has gone crazy!” Lu Yu muttered as he turned around on his feet and walked away, his heart turning cold as ice.
