Lei Qian had indeed tried to get as much information on Yu Miaomiao as possible but it was not easy.

That woman was way too sneaky and she knew when to hide and where.

He couldn’t find her even when he overturned more than four army trucks and killed all the ability users who tried to resist.

But even after killing all the ability users and interrogating the survivors, he didn’t find Yu Miaomiao.  After arresting the survivors at the safe base, he ran into Dacheng and Lu Yin.

The two of them said that he couldn’t leave the safe base; Yu Miaomiao had arranged for everything and if he wanted to go out of the safe base, then he would require their help.

At first, Lei Qian didn’t want to agree but when he saw the number of ability users waiting to ambush him, he had no choice but to agree.  “I think she went to look for Bai Feng,” said Lei Qian, his eyes flickering calculatingly.

“Dacheng told me that there was no way that Yu Miaomiao would go to Bai Feng.

After all, his region is flooded with mutated bugs but I think Yu Miaomiao used the most basic war tactic.

The most dangerous place is the safest.

And given how idiotic that woman was, the chances of this happening were very high.

Really very high.  She yawned and rubbed her eyes.

Last night, she was worried that something might go awry and didn’t dare to sleep and even when she fell asleep, because of the worries of her heart, she didn’t sleep too deeply.

Thus, she was still sleepy.

She rubbed her eyes and glanced at Lei Qian, who seemed to be looking at her with the same concerned expression on his face that he usually reserved for her.  She stifled the next yawn and said, “Go and sleep.

You didn’t sleep all night.”  “What about you?” Lei Qian asked with a frown.

“Where are you going?”  “I will walk around a little,” said Bai Meiyue as she got to her feet.

“It’s not a good thing for me to stay in the same position all the time.” She was also feeling a bit hungry and wanted to eat something.  Lei Qian didn’t push her to come with him.

He simply nodded and said, “But if you feel sleepy, make sure that you sleep.”  “Sure.”  Bai Meiyue then left the living room and headed outside.

However, as soon as she walked to the open kitchen, she ran into Old Master Bai, who was glaring at a middle-aged man.

While her mother was standing behind him with red eyes.

Bai Meiyue frowned.

She walked over to where her mother was standing and asked softly, “What’s going on?”  “Yueyue-”  Before Yan Wanning could say anything, the old man who was standing in front of her exclaimed, “Bai Meiyue?

It’s you.

You have gotten prettier since the last time I saw you.”  Bai Meiyue raised her head and looked at the man in front of her.

However, she couldn’t even remember the man, not even when she tried to bully her mind into recalling the person.

However, after living two lifetimes, Bai Meiyue had simply forgotten people who didn’t play any significant role in her life whether good or bad.  “Who are you?”  The man, upon hearing this question, swelled so fast that Bai Meiyue for a second, thought that he was an incarnation of a bullfrog.  “Yueyue, he is your uncle.” Yan Wanning peeked at her brother and lowered her gaze with a worried gaze; she never once thought that someone from the Yan family would actually come looking for her.

She had lived in the village for so long and no one… not a single person from the Yan family came to look for her.

Even when she went to the Yan family’s home when Bai Qingshi refused to admit and take her as his wife, they simply told her that she was useless and couldn’t keep a man.  They never came to help her and even asked her to never show her face in front of them.

Yan Wanning never returned home after that and raised her three kids on her own.

After so many years, she had completely forgotten the Yan family.

Who would have thought that someone from the Yan family would come looking for her?

And that wasn’t all.

Not only did her brother come looking for her, but he even demanded that she give him a place in the mansion.  How could she do that?

This mansion was under Bai Meiyue’s control.

She was already a big burden on her children.

How could she ask them to take care of her brother as well?

That was why she asked Uncle Yan to leave.

She told him that she couldn’t help him and asked him to go away.

And that was when he raised his hand to slap her, only to be stopped by Old Master Bai.
