Chapter 483: Chapter 483: Going Back to the Base
The members of the team had to sit on the roof of the trucks because there was no space inside any of them.

This was the most amount of food they had brought back since their team was formed.

Even though they had to give a part of it to the base, each team member would still have enough supplies left to last them a long time.

Chu Miao took plastic bags from her space and offered them to everyone so that they could also take the food in the silos.

The space users in Murong Si’s team filled their space with more bags of food and Chu Miao and her team also carried the rest.

They had just teleported to this place because Chu Miao wanted to save people, she had not expected to gain so much.

This must be what they say that doing good deeds always pays.

“Sister-in-law, are we teleporting back or driving to the front gate with the others?” After emptying everything, Pei Ming asked.

“Let’s just go back the same way we came. If we go through the gate, we will probably have to go through more procedures because there is no record of us leaving.” Chu Miao wanted to avoid any complications with the base leadership.

So, she chose to stay low-profile, which isn’t much considering that their car had disappeared in the middle of the street, but it was better than drawing attention with all the food the team they had saved was carrying.

“Okay then. Let’s get into the car and go back.” Ye Xuan instructed and everyone said goodbye to Murong Si’s team before flying back to the top of the building their car was parked on.

Once inside, Chu Miao placed her hand on the window again and the car disappeared.

She was afraid of causing more chaos than necessary within the base, hence, she teleported back to the compound or the president’s residence.

This time, it was the turn of the soldiers on duty to be shocked when a large vehicle appeared in the compound out of thin air.

Moreover, they knew that car. It was the same that had left a few hours ago with the president’s honor guests.

They were afraid that this was some kind of an attack, so the soldiers surrounded the car with weapons aimed at every part of it.

As Ye Xuan lowered the window to talk to the soldiers, a few people burst out of the main building and ran towards the vehicle.

The president included.

Seeing several leaders show so much interest in the vehicle, the soldiers became even more vigilant but were ordered to step down by President Yu.

Once the weapons moved away from the vehicle, the door opened and Ye Xuan was the first to alight.

The others followed behind, including Liang Wei, who was still finding his beating.

“What happened to you guys? We got a report that aliens had appeared in the base and took your car.

We’ve been worried so much.” Commander Shen could not wait to ask what happened.

The group was surprised to hear such a story about aliens, but they should have expected something like that when their car just disappeared.

“Let’s talk inside.” Ye Xuan saluted the leaders before suggesting to take the conversation into the house.

Commander Shen realized that he had been too impatient and agreed, before ushering the team into the reception area.

“So, what happened?” President Yu couldn’t wait to ask as soon as they were seated.

“There were no aliens. We just discovered a team in danger of total annihilation and went to help.

There was no time for long procedures of leaving the base nor was there enough time to drive there.

So, we used the fastest method to get us to the scene.” Ye Xuan, though disliked talking too much, would still give the necessary details when reporting a mission.

“What method is that?” Commander Shen asked eagerly.

“Teleportation.” Liang Wei jumped to reply before anyone else.

In fact, he was still wrapping his head around the fact that there were human beings that could teleport.

He felt a different kind of excitement at that knowledge.

“Teleportation?”

Several people asked in unison.

“There is something like teleportation in this world? Then doesn’t that mean that there is hope for the research on traveling through time and space and….” Before the old man who was marveling could finish his statement, he felt a cold chill running down his spine.

It felt as if a sharp knife was placed on his neck and if he made the smallest movement, his head would roll.

The other people in the room also noticed how the atmosphere had shifted and a pressure like a mountain was pressing on their backs.

If not for their years of sitting in power that made them react quickly, they would have been on their knees begging for mercy already.

Everyone turned to the spot where that pressure was coming from and realized that it was Ye Xuan who was emitting a chill that could even freeze hearts.

They realized that they might have said something that he did not like to hear.

Ye Xuan had always been respectful of his leaders and would not react like that if he didn’t feel a threat.

So, what was the threat?

Before long, they figured it out.

“And how are you going to study the travel through time and space?” His voice was low but everyone could feel the danger in it.

It was at that moment that the leaders realized that the person who mentioned studying time and space had touched a raw nerve.

“Nothing. Sorry about that.” The old man who was still dreaming about using teleportation to study time and space travel apologized humbly.

“The issue of teleportation should remain in this room. I’d better not hear a word about it outside of this residence.” This was the first time Ye Xuan had threatened his superiors.
