Chapter 441: Chapter 441: Taking An Oath
Thinking of what kind of a devil he was when he led them in missions, they couldn’t imagine that he could ever be so gentle to anyone.

“Let me set up some arrays here to prevent sneak attacks from zombies or any other creatures while we cultivate.” Chu Miao said and immediately took out various materials to set up some simple arrays.

She decided to set up two so that the two teams could cultivate separately. After all, they were cultivators, while the others simply had superpowers.

Moreover, they were still keeping the whole cultivation issue under wraps.

After a short while, Ye Xuan had helped Chu Miao set up two defensive arrays with an illusion array hidden within to blend everything into the surroundings.

As long as one entered the arrays, they would disappear and the others outside couldn’t see them.

She also took out a few hundred crystal cores they had gotten from the thousands of mutated rats they had killed and handed them over to Jun Huang.

The crystal cores had already been soaking in spiritual spring water for the best part of the day and the impurities in them were nearly gone.

These crystal cores would give them a better result than the others they had used before because they were purer.

“You guys enter the other array and stay within. We might stay here for a day or two.

If you feel bored you can walk out of the array and hunt some mutant animals or zombies.” Chu Miao explained after giving away the crystal cores.

The others just looked at her surprised because they didn’t remember collecting the crystal cores from the rats at all, but since their leader said nothing, they kept mum as well.

After distributing the crystal cores, she led her team into the other array.

“What was that attack like? Can you guys tell us so that we could be on guard?” Jing Xian asked as soon as the few of them entered the array.

“I don’t know how to explain. It felt as if something was hammering my soul. I didn’t feel physical pain, but I could feel as if my soul was about to shatter.

Luckily, I retreated fast enough.” Li Kun replied.

It was his first time experiencing something like that and didn’t know how to explain.

“It’s not easy to explain as a soul attack is different from a physical one.

You guys will have to experience it yourselves to understand, but be guarded and try to resist the attack as much as possible.

As you resist the attack, you will have to use soul power instead of spiritual energy. If you feel that you can’t hold on anymore, you can stop and take a sip of soul fluid to recover before you start again.

That is how you will train your soul and increase soul power.” After explaining, Chu Miao gave everyone a small bottle with soul fluid in it then she took Ye Xuan to the side.

“Do you think we should get the others out to train as well?” She asked in a low voice that only the two could hear.

Unless the others were purposely eavesdropping, they wouldn’t be able to hear anything.

“You planned to tell these guys anyway, I believe they won’t say anything. You can give them that oath now before taking the others out.” Ye Xuan wasn’t against it as long as there was a way to protect Chu Miao.

“Alright, I will go in and talk to them first so that I don’t just bring them out and give them a scare.” Chu Miao was glad to have such a supportive partner and smiled before kissing him on the cheek.

She cleared her throat and opened her mouth to say, “There is something I want to show you guys, but you will have to keep the secret even in death. For that, you have to take an oath. Are you okay with that?”

Ye Xuan’s brothers looked at each other then looked at their boss. When they saw Ye Xuan nod his head, they all agreed without hesitation.

They didn’t know what Chu Miao wanted to tell or show them, but they knew that Ye Xuan wouldn’t harm them.

After that, Chu Miao led them to take an oath that would prevent them from revealing anything about the space ring even if someone searched their souls.

Once everything was done, she explained the origin of the Chu family and how they had predicted the apocalypse and prepared a contingency plan in case the world fell and humanity ended.

The soldiers had always admired the Chu family for being loyal generals for generations, but they hadn’t expected them to be the same even in ancient times.

Having such a long history was incredible and their admiration for Chu Miao and the other Chu family members increased, especially when they found out that the Chu family ancestors had sacrificed their lives and cultivation just to leave a way for their future generations.

They had already tasted the significance of cultivation and they knew that with their current cultivation level, they could already live up to five hundred years, but the Chu family elders had the opportunity to cultivate immortality and live for at least thousands of years or even tens of thousands of years but they had chosen to give that up to create the Soul Ring.

That was something worth admiring and learning from.

In fact, that little explanation had somehow enlightened the brothers who felt their cultivation increase a bit and their understanding of cultivation deepen.

From that moment on their future breakthroughs would be much smoother.

After explaining everything to the few brothers, Chu Miao gave them the oath and disappeared on the spot.

She was gone for about three minutes before she reappeared again, but this time she wasn’t alone.

There was a group of people with her. This nearly scared the Ye Xuan brothers out of their minds.

However, they soon recognized everyone there. There were members of the Chu and Lu families, but only the elders.

Chu Miao had already explained the situation to the elders before coming out, so they weren’t surprised.
