1667: Ideas are Ideas 1667: Ideas are Ideas They were adjourned, and the group headed out.

Before they closed the door though, Althea couldn’t help but give a few reminders.

“Please have some rest first,” she told them.

“Rest is still important for us to function properly.” The group nodded, looking obedient.

However, at the back of their minds, they thought that Miss Althea was really not the best person to say the words.

Who didn’t know how many times Miss Althea was literally carried away by her husband?

It was quite a famous story.

They were at the verge of making a new potion, and she refused to go away even when it was midnight.

Sir Garan appeared and carried her out, regardless of who saw it.

Lucky for her, not many people were walking around at midnight, though they did hear Miss Althea nag her husband about her prestige being damaged.

It didn’t take long for the story to spread, and it became a reminder of work-life balance to some, and a reminder that they were single to others.

None of them said this out loud, of course.

“I can already imagine the contribution points,” Oslo couldn’t help but say, feeling quite excited.

They were walking along the long hallways of the Research Center, half-dazed in tiredness and the fact that they got a blank cheque!

If this succeeded, the contribution points would be massive.  Oslo was planning on buying an even bigger house after the expansion.

He also wanted to increase his purchase limits even more, especially for special materials.  For example, for use outside the territory, the criel would definitely not be for sale.

At best, a few kilograms would be available for purchase in exchange for huge amounts of contribution points.

It was a sensitive material, after all, and most sensitive materials could not be bought just by money in Alterra.

He was just thinking of the future!

… While walking along the Research Center’s impressive hallway, they saw Ansel who was visiting his wife.

“Ansel!” “Oslo!”  The two talked closely for a bit, looking handsome and close.

It was just that Ansel had to bring the meal to his wife, so after a brotherly armshake, Ansel had to excuse himself, scheduling a drink at a bar later When Ansel left, Oslo felt Lin’s eyes were fixed on him.

Oslo’s lips twitched upwards, wondering if she had finally found him handsome, until she actually opened her mouth.

“Are you sad?” she asked.  “Huh?

Why?” Lin looked at him seriously, narrowed her eyes, but it loosened as she seemed to have a realisation.

“Ah, I guess the Sunset Trio is true,” she nodded very seriously.

“Hmm, I guess it’s alright.” “Excuse me?” Lin shrugged, while Brenda covered her mouth to hold back a giggle.  Oslo’s stomach tumbled.

He had a bad feeling about this.

“Explain,” he said, holding Lin’s arm before she could walk away.  She took out a few books from her space.

Half of which was… fanfiction.  Specifically, it was either about the Sunset Pair or the Sunset trio.

“…” …  Unaware that a certain blonde was on the verge of breaking, Althea was now left alone in the office and resumed her tasks at hand.

The array she had been studying was the non-scalable array, which they just referred to as the ‘no stick’ array.

She has been memorising it in her head and trying to understand its functions.

Arrays were… complex, to say the least.

To be able to mimic an array, they not only had to memorize a pattern, but they also had to memorize the differences in thickness and the functions of each line, too.

It had been months since she had studied these things, and her progress was a bit slow by her standards.

Anyway, she took out a slab of wood and used the beurch pen.

The Beurch Stone was something imported from Hubble Town, as well as a number of adjacent territories.

Because it was not monopolized, there was no one territory that was granted enough prestige above others because of it, even if it was such a widely used material.

Veronica was able to get about a small boulder sample, but not much more.

It was a heavily controlled resource in all territories that produced it, which was understandable.

Various tools were made from this.

Not just the beast master’s whistles, but the Architect’s pen was also made from this material.

It was something all architects had because it could direct the aether better onto another surface.

Without it, the creation of aether blueprint, even with the rest of the materials complete, was lowered by more than a third, at least.

The common explanation for the beurch stones’ effects was that its structure could absorb aether well and store it, allowing the user to control the aether inside much more efficiently now that they had a medium.

She found that it was useful for array making, too.

It had the property of helping concentrate the aether somehow.

It still depended on the user, of course.

However, it seemed like people didn’t know the extent to which it could help, primarily because few people had tested its limits.

Althea could use it to increase her chance of success in toolmaking as well.

She gifted a few sets to all architects-including Oslo, Brenda-as well as all the toolmakers, and even Eugene.

Anyway, back to the array, Althea’s emerald eyes fixed on each line, memorizing, understanding.

If she figured it out, it might be useful to teach that new toolmaker they had with an interesting inheritance.

Of course, the array she was learning probably wouldn’t reach that effect, but the concept would be useful.

Even if it wasn’t, there could be plenty of things she could use it for.

She could make the walls of manual buildings unscalable.

Or maybe she could make waterproof stuff.

Perhaps she could make a metal ball bounce… If it were a heavy ball, then it could create some continuous damage as long as it was set up well.

Thinking of this, some new ideas came to mind.

Perhaps it could function as a magnet?

They did have magnetite for the electronics, but she could imagine a lot of uses for it if they could find a way for large-scale use.

Anyway, ideas were ideas.

Those would be useless if they couldn’t figure out how to actually apply them.
