- Chapter 1659 - 1659 Attacking Neighbors
1659: Attacking Neighbors 1659: Attacking Neighbors Now… to determine which one to attack.
Considering he was called here, Iron Mountains would probably be the first to make an attack, so they had to decide rather quickly.
In his opinion, the ideal place to attack should be nearby, so those beyond the level cap could assist them.
Since they were attacking, they’d be outside the territory lines for the most part, so they’d still be very useful.
Epo village had announced its surrender, becoming a subsidiary, so it wouldn’t be them.
The other villages that attacked Iron Mountains had already fallen-whether it was directly during the war or during its aftermath of weakness.
The remaining villages nearby were of lower levels, so they couldn’t attack them.
It also felt bad to attack territories that hadn’t done them harm, either. Fortunately, they didn’t have to undergo this many dilemmas.
Silvia took out a list, apparently sent to them by Alterra.
“They did send a list to us in case we had trouble choosing.
However, they’d be a bit troublesome because they’re a bit far.” Even if there were arrays, like other territories, they preferred to have elites camped near the territories that they’d attack, so they had back up and protection for their forces.
Even if the people beyond the level caps couldn’t get inside the territories, they could definitely assist their brethren to get inside.
Village Sentries generally were weak too, and their projectiles could be caught by hand by their elites. “The list contains unrepentant villages that once attacked Limestone Valley and Alterra.” This included Tangga and Ugoy Villages, the remaining villages that attacked Alterra during its upgrade.
Yassof was their subsidiary, while the other two villages, Resso and Picno Villages, fell not long after the 5-village war.
One succumbed to beast mobs, and the other attacked Yassof, thinking it was weak, not expecting all the slaves Alterra earned to have been returned to them. There were also the villages that attacked Limestone Valley back then.
All these territories had suffered heavy losses from that war.
Even if they weren’t the ones who became slaves, they still sent hundreds of people and lost most of those they sent.
“Though they’re far, I suppose the elites can camp out in nearby territories, whether it was Limestone Valley or Belluga Village.” They had one major advantage over others: Communication. Another: the element of surprise.
No one would think Iron Valley would attack a useless village so far away from them.
Hubert was sent there to be trained to be the new lead of Iron Mountains, along with one of the soldiers to be sent there.
To keep them from being stagnant, though it seemed that they’d be doing rotations every 3 months or so.
Unless, of course, Iron Mountains itself became a Town and the mobs would be strong enough to sustain people of their level.
However, this was still a few years away.
Which was fortunate.
They could only handle one vulnerable Town at this time.
If Iron Mountains joined in, there was a very real possibility it could get crushed-especially with the looming threat of Valov Town and its subsidiaries.
Reno, Silvia, and Rowan were also being reassigned back to Alterra, for similar reasons; Hugo was heading back.
After a few wars, they would definitely be doing so. Even the aborigine Gio would be rotating for a few months to see how the administrative works were in Alterra.
This was also to prepare Iron Valley for its inevitable upgrade to a Town.
There had to be people who would be able to handle the administrative work there.
Contrary to popular belief, compared to subsidiaries, Satellites could have more challenges in administration because they had to do most things manually, since they didn’t have the Lord panel.
The only reason the satellites of Alterra worked well was because Alterra invested huge amounts of money to support them, to send resources (including ‘powerhouses’ hired from the Center), as well as invest enough to establish similar rules and regulations (something most found to be a waste of money).
Shannon would be taking over Silvia’s administrative capacities for now, Hubert would be leading the entire military, while Poki, the current aborigine head guard, would retain his position under him.
Poki had learned a lot under Reno and Hugo.
They had differing styles-with Reno having a more systematic ‘military’ style while Hugo’s was a bit dirtier and grittier ‘street style’ -but it allowed flexibility to different guards who had varying styles.
The instruction was to stay for 3 more months and bid war once a month (they were alternating with Limestone Valley).
After this, they’d be reassigned to Alterra, and another set of personnel (who were now in training) would be sent to replace them.
Perhaps even stronger people would be assigned once people realized that the mines here were not just black metal, though that’d take a while because Alterra would keep Criel and its uses a secret for as long as it could.
Anyway, because they (Hugo, Silvia, and the rest of them) wanted to move back to Alterra, they also wanted to get these wars over with.
Conveniently, the letter also included information about the territories they could attack.
It included population, approximate average level, number of powerhouses, names of Lords, the addresses of the Lord, the habits and routines of the Lords, typical strategies during beast mob attacks, and so on.
To some territories, there were even lists of the Lords’ relationships and their mistresses.
There were also lists of people who were against them, and how much these people would be willing to risk, and if they had the potential to become subsidiaries after the war.
If these territories knew Alterra knew so much about them, how would they feel?
Anyway, for the next hour or two, the group made a rough decision on which territories they’d attack, as well as some second choices should Limestone Valley choose them too.
They cracked their knuckles.
After that war with Fargo, they really didn’t think they’d ever be the attacking party again.
Who’d have thought… they’d even have a schedule?
