1642: The Lords Roaming (Part 2) 1642: The Lords Roaming (Part 2) There was, for better or for worse, no punching that had happened yet.

Lulu had this cute, fluffy bracelet on her hand, and it was slightly squishy.

She just had to play with it to calm down, as it reminded her a lot of her baby’s cheeks.

It also reminded her that, regardless of the cause, hitting first was never wise.

Even if this dude was an asshole, it was she who would be thrown to prison!

Trev smirked, unaware of the annoyances in Lulu’s heart, just thinking she was being coy.

It did not help that back home, Trev literally had a line of women following after him (he was not bad looking, and was a bit of a jock), so he didn’t quite understand that he was actually being rejected.

Breathe in, Breathe Out Baby Sheep jumps, Baby Sheep Rolls, Baby Sheep is Super Cute  Like this, Lulu calmed herself down, donning her most professional smile, which was sadly misconstrued by a certain idiot.

As they passed by street after street, what would’ve been an enjoyable tour was slightly muted by the sound of Trev’s voice.

He kept opening topics to chat with Lulu about.

“What are your hobbies?

I liked to play sports back in the Terran days, now I like to hunt,” he said, grinning and quite proud.

To be fair, he really had the right to be proud.

He was already Level 14 at a village, after all, and only after a year.

This was quite a feat.  Sadly, all the coolness dissipated whenever he opened his mouth.

This was especially so when they were taking their intermittent breaks, where Lulu wasn’t speaking about a site.

This was to allow the guests to explore the site on their own, and also ask her questions.

Sadly, today, Lulu was getting more annoying questions than decent ones.

“Ah, this place is so nice.

Would be great for a date.” “I’m the type of guy to treat a woman well,” he said.

“Wanna try?” “What do you do on weekends?

Can’t you answer my questions?” “…I take care of my child and my husband.” “Surely, motherhood can get a bit tiring.

I know a lot of things to do to ease out the stress.” His Lord, Menarco, sighed.

“Trev.

Stop bothering the lady and let her guide us well.” Trev looked at him with a raised eyebrow, and he wanted to wave away his concerns, except Menarco had a rare somber expression on his face, making him shut his mouth.

Trev was Menarco’s relative, and they were each other’s blood relative.

Trev was not only capable, but he also had connections, and it exacerbated his arrogance.

Even Trev had rarely seen such an expression on his uncle’s face, so he really stopped.  For a while, they thought the issue was over, and the awkwardness was eventually ironed through.

It did not last for long, however When they reached the Bathhouse, Trev walked next to the girl again, leaning down.

“Do they have unisex baths there?” he asked, looking at her up and down suggestively.

“Even if they do, I certainly wouldn’t want to see you there,” she finally snapped, and he glared at her, offended, but then he calmed down when he figured out she was just ‘playing hard to get’.

Lulu had had enough, however, and started throwing everything she wanted to say.

“Do you like to hear your own voice so much?

Most of us don’t, and it’s gritting on my nerves.

Can you please shut your mouth since you have nothing decent to say?” “You-” Trev gasped, shocked and annoyed, and stomped on her to give him a piece of his mind (which no one cared for, really).  “Come closer and I’ll sue you for sexual harassment!” Trev was even more annoyed, and he let out an angry laugh, some nerves showing at the side of his face.

“Why are you acting so coy?

I haven’t even touched you, stop being sensitive!” “You’re killing my ears!

Is that not damage!?” “Is this how you treat delegates?!” “You’ll know soon enough that even if you’re delegates from a superior territory-which you are not-you are not exempt from Alterra’s rules!” “What rule did I break?!”  “SPEAKING BULLSHIT!”  “YOU!!” Before Menarco and them could calm the situation down, it was here that a pair of uniformed guards appeared, looking at their surroundings with sharp eyes.

After looking at everyone, their sights ended up on the obvious centers of this commotion.

“What’s going on here?” Lulu looked at Cassie and Bumi.

They were her friends, so she unconsciously started to act like a baby as soon as they appeared.

“He kept harassing me!

I keep telling him I am happily married with a child, but he keeps harassing me!” “YOU-” The next thing Trev knew, the two guards were at his side and taking him down.

“HEY!” he yelled, trying to get out of their hold, but they were strong.

The moment he did his best to get out, it seemed to have triggered the system itself and poof, he was teleported straight to prison.

The guards just told the Mason Villagers that Trev would stay there for a day or two, and they’d also have to pay a release fee later.  “We don’t recommend making appeals.

Just accept it,” Cassie said, just before she and Bumi left them alone without looking back.

Well, except to wave back to Lulu.

It was then that Menarco and the others saw that Lulu wasn’t lying-Alterra did not care if they were guests.  Further, if Lulu was to be trusted, then this also meant that even if their guests were from Cities, they would still do the same.

This surprised many of them.

To endanger a potentially vital deal with a City just because of a few women?

They didn’t think they could do it.  They might endure and let it go even if things started to get a bit physical, let alone when it was just words.

They wouldn’t like it, but they wouldn’t compromise the entire territory’s safety for a few jabs, either.

After a year in this place, they had become accustomed to a certain way of treating each other.

The lives of people and women were overall not bad in their territories (Alterra wouldn’t have allied with them otherwise), but there was definitely a more archaic shift in dynamic because it was a fact that women were far weaker than men and had much lower survival rates.

Here, however, the women could still be as confident as they were in Terran.

This should not be a surprise, but it still was.

This kind of attitude of ‘the weak’ actually meant many things, especially when the differences in their lives and attitude were not superficial, but obviously coming from within themselves.

They weren’t acting like this because their officials were reminding them to.

They genuinely believed they could.

It was their norm, and it wasn’t something they were just showing off to outsiders.

Alterra must have placed a lot of incentives for accomplishing things that didn’t have to do with brute force.

Therefore, there was less value placed in brute force, balancing the status of powerful men with the rest of the population.

More than the concrete innovations, the grand schemes, the big constructions, and the like, it was in these subtle shows of lifestyle and worldview that one could see the true quality of life of the people.

And that was truly an amazing thing.
