Chapter 700: Aksai vs Kalingoot Conclusion P3
Aksai and the Green Glory Lord moved deeper into the building and soon found a hidden entrance leading underground.
Below, there was a wide chamber that should have been the true treasury.
A special array formation vault once guarded it, but now it lay broken and torn apart. The vault doors were open. Inside, there was nothing.
No spirit stones. No pills. No artifacts. No storage rings or alchemy elixirs. Everything had been taken.
The Green Glory Lord walked around slowly, his face dark. He could see clear signs of recent activity. The broken arrays still carried fading energy. Footprints and disturbed dust had not yet settled.
“This was done not long ago,” he said in a low voice.
Aksai looked around the empty space without changing his expression. The treasury of Kalingoot had been completely looted, and whoever had done it had left nothing behind.
The Green Glory Lord then reached into his sleeve and pulled out a small, golden compass. This was a special artifact used to track residual Spirit essence. He held it in the center of the room and closed his eyes. A soft, blue light came out of the compass and spread across the empty treasury like a net.
He stood still for a long time as the light touched the floor and the walls. Finally, the light faded, and the Green Glory Lord opened his eyes. His face was full of anger.
He had found what he was looking for. The compass showed the lingering energy of a pseudo Core Formation Lord. It was accompanied by the weaker energy signatures of several subordinates. It was clear that a group of people had worked together to empty this place in a hurry.
‘Damn it. This was an inside job. One of the three Supremes decided to jump the ship even before the sinking started. That’s why they were so thorough.’
In a fit of rage, the Green Glory Lord kicked a nearby empty metal vessel. The loud clang echoed through the silent vault.
He then took out a communication talisman and spoke into it with a cold voice. He informed the Alliance elders that the treasury was completely empty. He told them there was nothing left to confiscate and ordered them to stop looking here. Instead, they were to scour the rest of the island and take whatever small scraps they could find from the other buildings.
Once he finished the call, he turned toward Aksai. His angry expression softened into one of pity, though his eyes remained sharp.
“It is indeed unfortunate that your efforts to suppress Kalingoot didn’t yield you any results, Lord Aksai,” the Green Glory Lord said with a sigh. “You fought a hard battle and risked your life, yet the prize is gone. I am sorry, but there is nothing I can do to help you recover the items from this treasury. They are likely far away by now.”
Aksai let out a long sigh of his own. He looked at the empty shelves and nodded slowly.
“If they can’t be recovered, then they can’t be recovered,” Aksai said, his voice sounding tired. “It is fine, Green Glory Lord. Such is the way of the world. Anyway. What will you do now?”
The Green Glory Lord shrugged his shoulders.
“My role as a witness to this conflict has come to an abrupt end, so I shall return to my own territory, he explained. The Alliance elders will handle the final details of this battle. You and your subordinates can go back to your island or stay to help the Alliance tie up some loose ends. The choice is yours.”
He paused and looked at Aksai more seriously.
“Upon returning, I will report to the other Lords in a few days. They should be ready to accept my communication requests by then. I will use that report to reveal the fact that you have become a new Core Formation Lord within our Dadangar Subcontinent. I listened to your and Haan Di Lord’s request and kept this secret for three months so you could deal with Kalingoot as we arranged. But I cannot keep it hidden anymore.”
The Green Glory Lord gave a small smile.
“I also expect you to formally announce a feast. You must invite all the Core Formation Lords to celebrate your ascension. If I were you, I would also start thinking about my Dao Name. In the Dadangar Subcontinent, it is our custom to announce a Dao Name during the ascension feast. It is how the world will know you from now on.”
Aksai smiled back and nodded.
“Indeed, I will arrange the feast in a few days,” Aksai promised. “I will invite all the important figures in the subcontinent. I look forward to seeing you and the other Lords at that time.”
The Green Glory Lord nodded one last time. Without another word, he walked out of the treasury. Once he was outside, he transformed into a streak of green light and shot into the sky at an unbelievable speed, disappearing into the clouds.
After the Green Glory Lord left, Aksai walked out of the dark stone building and found his seven subordinates waiting for him. They were tired and their armor was covered in dust from the battle.
“Go back to Emerald Cove,” Aksai told them. “You have fought well. Go home and take some rest. I will handle things here.”
The seven experts bowed low. They did not ask any questions. They turned and flew away toward the sea, leaving Aksai alone in the quiet area. Once they were out of sight, Aksai stood still for a moment and then simply vanished into thin air, leaving no trace behind.
A whole day passed. Slowly, the noise of war faded away. The fires on the island burned out, leaving only black smoke and ash. The Alliance forces finished gathering what they could find and sailed away on their warships.
The surviving members of Kalingoot who were not captured fled into the ocean to hide. By the end of the day, not a single living soul could be seen on the Kalingoot base island.
Night fell, and the island became deathly silent. The only sound was the gentle splashing of waves against the shore. There were no birds singing and no insects buzzing. The moonlight shone down on the ruined buildings and empty streets.
Near the dark stone treasury building, the air suddenly began to shake. A small crack appeared in space, glowing with a faint, purple light. The crack widened into a spatial rift.
A man stepped out of the rift. It was Loken, the Third Supreme. He looked around the quiet island with a calm and calculating gaze. Behind him, several other people stepped out of the rift as well. These were his loyal subordinates and newly gained allies who had been hiding with him in a separate space.
They did not look like people who had just lost a war. Instead, they looked like they were exactly where they were supposed to be. Loken walked toward the empty treasury building with a small smile on his face.
After walking a few steps, Loken found himself standing in the center of the quiet area and looked at the ruins around him. He began to laugh. His laughter started as a soft chuckle but quickly grew into a loud, joyful roar that filled the empty night air.
“Hahaha!”
Loken shouted, his eyes bright with excitement.
“Being captured by that vile bastard Aksai Everwood was truly a blessing in disguise!”
He walked a few steps, looking at the dark stone building where the treasury used to be.
“That man helped me more than he knows,” Loken continued, shaking his head. “Not only did he help me get rid of the First and Second Supremes, but he also gave me the perfect chance to rob my own organization. The chaos he unleashed on this island was the best cover I could have asked for.”
He stopped and looked at his hands, feeling the strength in his body.
“I had to act as his spy for a while, Loken said with a smirk.
“I had to do his bidding and help him plan the destruction of Kalingoot so cleanly and thoroughly. It was a bit annoying, but in the end, I was the one who was liberated from all my shackles. I am finally free from the suppression of the other two Supremes.
“Best of all, that bastard Aksai’s soul-based restrictions on me have been eliminated now that Kalingoot is destroyed. He thinks he still owns me, but I am free and loaded with everything from the treasury! I not only backstabbed Kalingoot but also fooled that demonic farmer in the end. Hahahaha!”
Loken then turned around. Standing behind him were several powerful elders from the Iron Mountain Sect. They had been waiting patiently while he spoke. Loken lowered his body and offered them a deep, respectful bow.
“All of this could not have been possible without your help, my friends, Loken said, his voice full of fake warmth.
“I thank you from the bottom of my heart for hiding me and helping me move the goods. As we promised before, I will hand over ten percent of the resources from the treasury to your sect immediately.”
