Chapter 183: Chapter 183 – Laws
Lucien returned to his chamber within Lootwell Castle. The night outside was silent yet the air trembled faintly as if reality itself awaited his next move.

He sat on the edge of his bed and opened his INVENTORY. He grabbed two loots.

The Twin Orbs of Genesis and Requiem. And the Orb of Imitation.

Lucien stared at them with wonder.

Now that his system had evolved, he could finally see their rarity.

“Above Legendary… Mythical,” he muttered.

He didn’t even know if anything existed beyond that tier. But one thing was certain. Any being below Primordial entities would kill for them.

The twin orbs hovered, circling one another as if in a cycle of eternal rebirth. Within them flowed opposing energies.

Life and death.

Lucien reached out. Even before contact, he could feel the warmth and chill. It felt like the pulse and stillness of the world itself.

Without any hesitation, he crushed the twin orbs in his hand.

A flash of opposing lights engulfed him… followed by an overwhelming torrent of knowledge. Concepts of birth, decay, growth, entropy… An entire philosophy of existence poured into his mind.

Lucien stayed still. He then took a slow breath.

The storm of thoughts began to settle… turning into patterns, concepts and understanding.

Lucien smirked faintly. “So this is what it means to know the law of Life and Death, huh…”

He leaned back, closing his eyes. He could feel the faint rhythm of everything around him.

The new knowledge shifted something deep inside him.

He once thought life was a straight path, something you cling to… and death, the wall that ends it.

But now… he saw it differently.

Life wasn’t about avoiding death.

Death wasn’t the end of life.

They were two sides of the same current, constantly flowing into one another.

He saw that every death gave birth to something new. Every ending created the space for beginnings to exist. Without decay, there could be no renewal. Without silence, there could be no song.

Lucien’s fingers tightened slightly as if realizing it for himself.

“Life isn’t fragile… it’s persistent. Death isn’t cruel… it’s merciful. Both just… make room for each other.”

He chuckled softly. “No wonder mortals fear death. They only see the half of the truth.”

Then he opened his eyes.

“To control life and death isn’t to defy them… it’s to understand the balance they dance in.”

Lucien smiled faintly.

“That’s… actually kind of poetic.”

He stood, feeling lighter than before… as if that single realization had cleared a weight he didn’t know he carried.

For the first time, Lucien didn’t feel the urge to fight the natural flow of things. Instead, he wanted to move with it.

…

Without pause, he took the Orb of Imitation and crushed it as well.

This time, the sensation was different. His vision rippled like glass and countless reflections of himself flickered across the room. Each moved with a slight delay, mirroring his every breath and blink.

He felt his perception split, overlapping realities folding in on themselves. Every reflection carried a truth, a possibility, and a version of what could be.

Lucien understood then… The Law of Reflection was not mere mimicry but understanding the nature of existence through its echoes. To reflect something perfectly… one must first comprehend it completely.

Just then…

Before he could delve any deeper into the laws he had just comprehended, the familiar sound of a system notification rang in his ears.

[Ting!]

[Achievements Unlocked!]

[CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE GENESIS SET]

—Crown of Creation, Aegis of Rebirth, Boots of Reflection, Mantle of the Infinite, Gloves of the Eclipse—

[You can now equip all items in the set simultaneously through your will.]

Lucien froze.

He couldn’t speak for a moment.

“This…” His voice was almost a whisper. “Everything feels… premeditated.”

He clenched his fist. “Primo Slime… What are you really up to?”

The achievements, the items, even the timing… it all felt like invisible hands guiding him toward everything.

Lucien hated that feeling. The idea that someone or something was pulling his strings behind the curtains.

But after a moment, he exhaled, shaking his head.

“No point sulking. If it’s given to me… then I’ll make it mine entirely.”

He stepped into his Divine Energy Core once again.

“Equip set,” he commanded.

At once, light cascaded across him. The artifacts responded, binding to his body in a seamless fusion of power and elegance.

The Crown of Creation settled above his brow.

The Aegis of Rebirth materialized on his arm.

The Boots of Reflection shimmered beneath him.

Then came the Mantle of the Infinite and Gloves of the Eclipse, his old companions that are now resonating anew.

Each piece harmonized, forming a set that felt… familiar.

“Deja vu?”

Lucien’s breath hitched.

It didn’t just fit him… it felt like it belonged to him all along.

He then took the time to test the power of his new equipment. The moment he activated them, a surge of energy coursed through his body.

Everything felt seamless. Each piece resonated with the others as if they were fragments of a single whole. The power wasn’t chaotic but harmonious.

Also, the Eclipse Gloves’ absorption and release rate had doubled. The Mantle of Infinite can now extend its domain infinitely too, adapting to his will.

After a series of experiment, Lucien smiled in satisfaction.

He soon calmed his racing pulse and opened his STATUS to see its changes.

Laws:

• Law of Creation (Primary Integration)

• Law of Life & Death (Comprehension – 60%)

• Law of Reflection (Comprehension – 60%)

Lucien smiled faintly. “Sixty percent… and I already feel the world bend around me.”

He knew that to go further, items wouldn’t be enough. What he needed now was enlightenment. Pure understanding that transcended matter.

He closed the status window and turned his gaze toward his three books floating in the distance. He called for them.

Skillpedia. Magic Book. Monsterdex.

From Zothrak’s fragmented memories, Lucien had glimpsed the monsters’ mimicry of human knowledge. They had replicated the codices of mankind… though each copy had warped differently through time and instinct.

Now, his own system reflects that evolution. He can now… make changes in his books.

In the Skillpedia, Lucien discovered something new.

On the first half of the book which contained the human skills, he could now edit and expand it. If he ever created a brand-new skill, he could now write it directly into the Skillpedia. And once recorded, it would be permanently etched into the system, becoming a recognized skill of the world.

But that wasn’t all.

The monster skills on the second half of the book had also changed. Before, he could read the skills but the conditions to obtain them was never written. Yet now… a faint prompt appeared on the corner of each page:

[You can now add the details for skill acquisition. You can also feed compatible fragments or replicas of monster-made tomes to unlock acquisition methods.]

Lucien’s eyes widened then a grin slowly curved his lips. He immediately recalled the Organ Storage of the Three Monster Lords. Some tomes lie in there related to monster skills.

Among them were the Goblin Skills, Dominion Circle and Phantom Ink.

He remembered how those skills once demanded Goblin Figurine sacrifices. But now, even without that… they could be learned through effort.

…

The Magic Book, too, had shifted. A new section appeared.

Laws.

It also allows fusion with objects of power or lore connected to creation, spells, or governing rules.

He reached into the Organ Storage and pulled out a stack of monster spellbooks.

Without hesitation, Lucien pressed them against his Magic Book. The tome pulsed in response. Its pages rippled as if alive.

Then… it began to drink in the knowledge.

A low hum filled the air. Colors spiraled out of the pages. The book quivered, expanded… then reshaped itself into something more intricate.

When the light faded, Lucien saw new attribute sections containing the spells that he has fed it.

Chaos Magic Attribute.

Blood Magic Attribute.

Lucien’s eyes glimmered with intrigue but a sudden thought crossed his mind.

The Tome of Unmaking. The Magus Goblin’s Mythical drop.

He remembered its eerie property… The power to distort any spell into its inverse form.

“Healing becomes decay. Light becomes shadow. Barriers become void.”

Lucien grinned.

“Now this… this is something I can use.”

He held the Tome of Unmaking over his Magic Book. The moment they touched, his inner realm trembled.

The air warped. Symbols twisted and melted into one another. The Magic Book’s glow darkened. Its brilliance turned into something both divine and dreadful.

Then suddenly… silence.

A new section has awakened which shocked Lucien more than ever.

“Law of Inversion: All that is made can be unmade.”

Lucien’s fingers brushed over the glowing letters.

With it came a new function. He could now inverse spells using the Magic Book directly.

An exhilarated smile curved his lips as he closed the book.

“Now…” he murmured, “let’s see what MONSTERDEX has in store.”

The Monsterdex had undergone a surprising change.

It was no longer confined to monsters. It now contained the Thousand Races too. Yet its entries remained incomplete, bound by the limits of Lucien’s own knowledge.

“Hmm… Can this still be called Monsterdex? Well, half of their roots are monsters anyway…”

…

Lucien sighed softly.

He had made up his mind. He would stay for another year, honing his skills to perfection.

There were still things left undone. Farewells to his friends, final inspections to make and… one last conversation with Midas and Augustus.

“It took me too long. Soon… It’s time to say goodbye to this world. I don’t even know when I’ll be able to return…”
