And above them all, a vast Black Mass loomed in the heavens.

It pulsed like a living heart.

The Goblin felt it before it understood it…

It was the power that governed all life in that realm.

Years passed. Decades… Centuries… Millenia…

The Goblin clawed, killed, consumed.

Knowledge seeped into its mind. Runes, magic circles, the language of magic itself.

It ascended… and the once measly goblin became one of the Magus Goblin. They were creatures who could command miasma as if it were second nature.

When its intelligence reached a certain height, it began to hear whispers from the Black Mass.
